Hope everyone is having a good morning!!
I did okay yesterday. I was really craving chocolate. I resisted yesterday, but I did have 3 bite size pieces today (it was either that or I would have to kill someone) ;) We went to Universal Studios last night and went out to eat, but I did split my meal. I could have done better, but I also could have done alot worse.
My goal today is to go out at my break and go walking, and do my evening exercise. I don't feel great so it will take some effort. I also need to stay away from the candy. I work in an office that always has candy around. I can resist a good portion of the time, but there are that couple of days that are really tough.

Haven't done any excecise since last week and I am still sick. Maybe I will try to get a walk in tonight. Great job everyone and last week's challenge. We rocked!

What's for dinner tonight? We're having warm spinach salad. On a bed of spinach leaves you crumble a little bacon and a sauce of red onions, corn, sugar and balsamic vinegar. Then a little blue cheese on top. I cooked it already and did the dishes so I only have to warm it up when my husband gets home. I have more play time with my son that way.
I probably won't have bacon on my salad so that'll make it better for me.
AuntieM03 sometimes if you really want that chocolate it's better to eat 1 little piece than to try to fill that desire with something else. You may try all kinds of fruit but it won't be the chocolate, so you may end up eating even more. Some days chocolate is a necessity, right?

Hi all,
I am the slow one and didn't see this thread... I posted this on the other one earlier:
"Where is everyone today??? I can't spend all of my time teasing the Blue Team!! (Though we are having some fun over there! LOL )
I hope that everyone is having a happy & healthy day!!! I am going to be doing some power shopping today as I have a short amount of time to get some grocery shopping done for the dinner I am making for my staff tonight. I am making them a salad, chicken parmigiana (mine will have no breading & be grilled instead of fried hehe), then I am roasting a huge pan of summer veggies and tossing that with some pasta & extra virgin olive oil/roasted garlic sauce (That way I can get the veggies and they can have pasta! hehe), I will probably also buy a small loaf of rustic bread. And then for desert one of them has requested something chocolate and raspberry so I am going to make a chocolate raspberry brownie trifle (I will be skipping the bread and pasta so I can have a small scoop! hehe) I also have several meetings today and lots of other stuff to do, wish me luck!!
Have a good one all! Don't forget to do something good for your body today!!!
Mike
p.s What the heck was up with the DIS last night??? I was going into withdrawal!"
My addendum now is that I did a good 90min of shopping, all walking, and it felt great!
May not seem like a big deal to those of you I am just getting to know, but some of you know that a few months back I could not even shop for 10min without sweating like mad and needing to sit down. Not anymore! :)
My last thought is... So did we win this weeks weigh in?? Is there a clippie coming our way?? ;) I am anxious!! hehe!
Be well all!!! Great job on your exercising today!

Today has been a good 'NO' day so far. I had to go to the dentist to get my inlay which finally came in. They had a hard time getting the temp off, and then the new one feels funny. I REALLY wanted to reward myself for the visit with food - something fatty & fried or sweet. But I DID NOT!!!
I also had to go return stuff at Sam's and then the Grocery and I didn't succumb to goodies even tho I bought candy bars for the kids for the upcoming trips.
So, I'm sitting here at the computer now very IMPATIENTLY waiting for my scoop of SF FF ice cream from Monday night to thaw.
Lots of extra walking in the stores.

Hey there!
Way to go on the big NO's Goldcup Mom! I hear you about wanting to eat! Yesterday a cupcake tormented me ALL day......Thankfully, 265 pound me won the fight with the 4 oz. cupcake! It was quite the exhausting battle!!
Agotta, feel better! Sorry that you are still not feeling well!
Mike, din din sounds delish! What an accopmplishment for you and your shopping! Great progress there....and sounds like a great dinner too!
 Marty, your dinner sounds yummy yoo! Nothing like a good spinich salad with some yummy balsamic! Of course, it is just not the same for me without the bacon and the eggs......but it does sound yummy!
AuntieM, way to go woth the walking! That is my goal for the evening too! I have new shoes that I REALLY want to get broken in. I am going to head out for a quick two miles...then going out for bite to eat! I am so hungry right now.....
Mel, I take your challenge! I am going to get my two miles in regardless!!!!! Glad to see things are going well for you too!!
Where is everybody else at? Hope everybody is doing well! Hope to hear from them all soon!
Off and playing in traffic, changing, going for a nice little :cool1: and then dinner!! Oh, and I have to get this all done before the Apprentice comes on!!

Hi All!!
OOh Marty!!! Save me some of that salad, sounds yumtastic!!! :)
Yay on all your No's Julie!! :)
Ooh Liz, I am an apprentice fan here too! Did you watch Martha's yesterday??
Melanie, was it you who was watching the BigBrother and Rockstar INXS finales the other night? What'd you think? I was happy JD won and didn't care on BB because Janelle was gone! hehe!
As for me, I have said NO all afternoon!! I have not tasted the food I am making once, not even when I had pudding, whipped cream, and chocolate cake on my hands! LOL I did have a few of the roasted veggies but that was a last minute lunch as I forgot about it today! hehe
Dinner is soon, then we will watch Survivor, Apprentice, etc. together as we watch the students attempt to sneak in alcohol. etc to my building and we stop em! hehe!
Have a great one all! I am thinking of a walk after dinner later tonight, we'll see!

I am going in tomorrow for my permanent crown. Is it going to hurt when they take off the temp?? :guilty:
goldcupmom
09-22-2005, 05:43 PM
It doesn't hurt, per se, it Just feels funny. I have at least 4 crowns I can think of and now this inlay. You feel a pulling a bit which kind of unnerves me, but no pain. It is usually very quick - maybe 10 min total visit time. Sometimes the adhesive they use on the permanent kind of stinks and sometimes it leaves a funny taste in your mouth for a short while.
good luck!!

Wow! You guys are doing great! I went to the doctor today to get back on my synthroid. It always helps to have a decent metabolism when trying to lose weight.
According to his scale I dropped another 2 lbs :Pinkbounc , but we will see how it shakes out next week. I am still lagging with exercise, but I have done well with my eating. Everyone keep up the good work! :cheer2:

OK, my goal is to be back on the treadmill in the morning. I just haven't felt like it since Monday but I am determined to get on there for at least 15 minutes tomorrow, but hoping for 30 minutes. I will also hit it on Saturday and Sunday since I've had a few days off.
Everyone is doing great. Sorry so short, lots to do before I can sit down and watch my Survivor tape. Let's keep fighting those temptations.

Hi Red Team,
Well tonight I got in 3.25 miles of running/walking at my son's football practice. Sure was nice killing two birds with one stone.
Nursetink- Great job on the two pounds. Here's some pixie dust so it sticks around on Tuesday. :wizard: Keep up the great work. I challenge you to 10 minutes of exercise tomorrow!
Goldcupmom-I'm so proud of you for saying no today! Woo hoo! It would have been so easy to say YES to something fatty, fried or sweet with the work you had done on your teeth. Keep up the great work.
Mike- Yep that was me with BB & Rock Star INXS. Well I so totally agree with you. I loved Janell and was so bummed when she lost the last challenge to Ivette. It really almost made me want to not watch the last show. I was so happy Ivette didn't win. On Rockstar, I had this thing for Mig since the beginning. He's pretty hot, lol! :rotfl2: But towards the middle of the competition I realized he probably wasn't right for INXS. I was a huge INXS fan in the 80's. I've even seen them in concert. It will never be the same without Michael . I really liked Marty & JD. I figured they wouldn't pick Marty because he just isn't quite their style, although I loved the first INXS song he song weeks ago. I love JD's Pretty Vegas song and I really think he was the way to go. So what did you think of Lost...............it was SOOOO good! How about that guy in the hatch being the guy who Jack met at the stadium. I also heard on my morning radio show that they think the guy who died when the girl lived (from the car accident) had the same last name as Shannon. Also they played back what Walt said backwards and it said something about a button and pushing it. It was " Go ahead and push the button, The button won't hurt you". Or something like that. Not sure what that is all about.
Liz- I hope you got your 2 mile walk in. I got my 3 miles in tonight. Wooo hoo. Great job on resisiting the Krispy Kreme today. Keep up the great work!
Agotta- I hope you get better. Don't worry about pushing yourself. Get your rest and when you feel better you will be ready to go!
AuntieM03- I hope you got out and got your walk in. Great job on resisting the chocolate and splitting your meal. Splitting my meal is something I need to work on. I"m not too good at it. I seem to think eating out means I must eat it ALL!
mountaineer- Your dinner sounds really good. Tonight is a whatever night. I'll probably be making a cheese quesadilla and throw some veggies in it. Or possibly I'll make a tuna or salmon patty. I have to see how many points I have left.
Well everyone, have a great rest of the evening. And don't forget - WE ROCK!

Way to go on all the no's today. You're being good influences. My salad was great, so great I wanted seconds. Instead I rinsed my plate and brushed my teeth.
My son and I had to run through the store after football practice tonight and I did not go through McDonald's to get a fountain coke. That's one of my weaknesses.
I have to work at the preschool tomorrow morning so I will ride the bike later in the day. I have to ride it and do a DVD Sat to get my 6 days in.
CSI is back on so I'll catch you guys later.
Melanie -- my son is still in flag football. He says he's not going on to the C team next year. He's a gentle giant of a kid. He has lots of power that he uses here at home with his dad but not actually at football.
Mike -- I would have loved the roasted veggies. That's one of my favorite things to eat in summer. We ate a lot of squash, zucchini, peppers and onions sauted in olive oil.
Liz -- that cupcake will lose its power over you soon. Keep saying no. We'll be here to help you. I'm finding it easier now to say no since I'm on this team.

Hi All!
Just thought I would post the lyrics to the new song used for the Biggest Loser theme. It is Heather Small, "Proud." This song soooo gets me going!!!
I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
Still so many answers I don't know
Realise that to question is how we grow
So I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
We need a change
Do it today
I can feel my spirit rising
We need a change
So do it today
'Cause I can see a clear horizon
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
'Cause you could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
What have you done today
You could be so many people?
Just make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?

I worked at the preschool today. Some of those kids just don't want to listen at all.
I rode the bike for 60 min when I got home. I had to make myself do it, I didn't want to at all. But I get to listen to my favorite CD when I ride so the hour went pretty quickly.
Have a great weekend!!

Well, today I've been in the 'blues' mood. Was about to exercise this morning when DD called from the bus and said she thinks she dropped her necklace/charms at the bus stop, can I go look for it. Keep in mind her bus stop is a PARK and I have no idea where it might be. So, I get dressed and head out. Since I'm going , might as well go fill the gas tank. Home to get the other car to fill, 4 gas stations w/o fuel. Do the Albertson's run. Get home and DS16 gives me his new travel schedule for gymnastics which throws me into a FUNK!
This season requires SEVEN airline tickets....so far! Or do things like drive 12 - 18 hours in 1 day which I don't do.
So, instead of eat, I go nap.
After the Albertson's run the dog got sick(more in my journal about my piggie dog), had to bathe, clipped the pup, etc.
I ate nothing til dinner and the only exercise was the shopping.
So, not a good day, not a bad day.....just another day.....
Tomorrow I will get in some exercise. If it cools off, maybe I'll go for a walk later.

Uuugh...
Well, I, for one, just want to go back to bed. Been suffering with flu-like symptoms the last two days. Got my 60 minutes in yesterday, but today I did my first mile and had to go in because I thought I was going to fall over. Before work this evening my temp registered at 101, and now I'm stuck here alternately sweating and shivering while waiting for Friday night football copy to come in. I slept for 12 hours last night and I look/feel like I got 12 minutes. I wanna go home... But at least I'm not eating all that much.
Hope everyone else is doing well,

Morning!! So I am still not feeling well enough to excercise. I just can't shake this vertigo. I thought I was feeling better, but yesterday when I was at the dentists and the lowered me backwards, ughh!! The room just wouldn't stop spinning
Anyway, I have been trying to eat healthier so that I am not gaining this week. I wanted to share a recipe with everyone for a great low-fat smoothie. I had it this morning instead of coffee. I can't have any caffiene until this infection clears up because it dehydrates me, and I am going through withdrawl!!!
1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 can light peaches
a handful of ice
Throw in blender and yummy!!
What is everyone up to this weekend? Dh and I are headed to Baltimore tomorrow for the Red Sox game. I know I will get a ton of walking in!!
Laura I hope you are feeling better!! Keep up the good spirits! :cheer2:

Agotta - is this just positional dizziness? I had this terribly a few years ago. After months it was diagnosed as a blocked eustachian tube. I was told to plug my nose and blow up to 100x/day and I would eventually clear it up, and it did! VERY annoying thing to have and quite disturbing!
Hope you are feeling better soon!

I have had this before. My allergies are awful and they affect my sinuses terribly. Doctors can't figure out what to do. When they get really bad, I get an inner ear infection. I am on antibiotics and every day the dizziness gets less and less. The first time it happened (1998) I couldnt drive for 2 months !! Anyway, thanks for the good wishes :)

Hi Red Team,
I am so proud of myself. I got up this morning and since DH and the kids were sleeping on the air matress in the basement (Friday & Sat night is Family night), I could not use the treadmill. So I got dressed and went to the park and ran/walked 4.15 miles. Woo hooo! It felt so good to get out in the fresh air early in the morning and get my miles in. I knew I had to get my exercise in to earn some Weight Watcher Activity points since we were taking DS7 to the Japanese Hibatchi restaurant to celebrate his birthday. I was good all day with eating and I had saved enough flex points so all was still staying on plan. Now I am planning to eat low points till weight in on Tuesday so I make sure to have a good one.
Yesterday I went to Mexican for lunch at work so I only had one slice of my usual pizza for dinner instead of two to make up for the points.
Goldcupmom- Sorry your having the blues. Your life is definately crazy. It sounds about like mine so I know how it can definately give you the blues. Sorry to hear DS gymnastics schedule is so tough. That is a lot of airline tickets to buy. :wizard: Pixiedust for a better day tomorrow.
Marty- Your day sounds like mine. I did the snack stand today and then watched his game. They won 18 to 8. It was cold here today though. Not really cold. I wore short sleeve and shorts all day but by half time it was getting chilly and I was downright cold by the end. It was in the 70's here today.
agotta-I hope you get better soon. :wizard: Vertigo is not nice. I had it about a year ago. I would get it in the morning when I woke up and kept running into the wall and tv. It would eventually go away but would come back every so often. Finally it went away all together. Thanks for the recipe. Sounds yummy.
Here is my standard smoothie recipe:
1 cup fat free plain yogurt
1 banana
1 cup strawberries & pineapple
6 ice cubes.
Throw all in the blender and enjoy
Also, another great snack is to take frozen mango's and slightly thaw them. Then eat them as a frozen snack. Its so yummy, sort of like sherbert.
Laura- Sorry to hear your feeling sick too. Please take it easy and get better. :wizard: Glad you got your exercise in yesterday.
monte- Great job on your workout! Keep up the great work.
Liz- I hope your walk went well tonight. I'm hoping to get my Ipod soon. I can't wait.
Mike - Hope you had a great day.
Geety & Quilt teddy- Thanks for stopping by.

Morning! Not mcuh time to check in, but I did want to say :wave2: and WISH you all a good week!
For me, the weekend went quite well! Said NO! to lots of stuff that I wnated to say yes to and said YES! to some things I would have rather said no to!
That being said, there were a lot of good eating choices made and even some exercise to report for the weekend!
To those with the ickies, feel better! For those having a hard time of things, make a plan and work your plan! It is so much easier to make healthy choices when you have the stuff on hand! For those doing well, keep up the good work!
Off and running to another busy week at work! I will try to check in later and see how everyone is doing!

Oh and sorry about the mess.....I tripped on some donuts on the way in....seems as though SOMEBODY left a bunch of donuts here......must have been Geety! Ya know she is up to NO GOOD!!! Anyway, I cleaned up at best as I could, but truth be told I am domestically challenged.....and the donuts were stale anyway. As I was picking them up I was thinking if the bllue team is going to tempt us, they might try to use something better than week old donuts!
OK, off and running! And if you see Geety, tell her I think she is a peach too!!! :rotfl:

How is everyone on this rainy Monday? It's not really raining here right now but it has been. We really need the rain. It's very dry here.
Melanie--I would have loved for it to be in the 70's here. It was so hot at the game Sat. It was only in the 80's but the humidity was so high. I was sweating just sitting and watching the game. The kids were ok the first half but when the 2nd started they all melted. 2 kids left crying to sit on the bench, my son finally got to sit for a while and the rest were trying to sit on the bench. They were pouring water in and on them. The concession stand was much cooler, it was shady and fans were blowing.
Ok, today I did The Firm--Supercharged Sculpting. I do all my regular cleaning on Mondays so I will be doing the dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing the bathroom for about an hour.
Are the sicknesses finally starting to drift away? It was probably the smell of the stale donuts that caused all the problems.

Good morning Red Team. I hope everyone is having a great morning. I wanted to stop by and say that I am going to get my 8 glasses of water in today. I have been struggling with that some and I wanted to have it in writing.
Sorry so short, lots to do this morning. I'll be back later this evening to report in.

Good Monday morning!!
I did not do well as far as eating goes this weekend. I went to the Apple Farm Inn in San Luis Obispo this weekend. It is so beautiful there, but the food is just too good. I did split several of my meals, but it was things like pancakes and chicken & dumplings. I am not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow, but I am back on track today and determined to reach my goal of 20lbs gone by my December WDW vacation!!

Hi all,
Liz - Kick those donuts to the curb!!! Good job! hehe I am on Geety watch now!! You can rest. ;)
Marty - Good job exercising! Hope you get the needed rain!!
Tammy - Good luck getting your water in! I found the thing that motivated me a lot at the start was buying a few fun water bottles and always keeping one full & chilling at the ready while I drink from the other. I got myself a Buffy the Vampire Slayer bottle and an Angel the Series bottle, my faves!!
Michelle - The weekend's past, time for good choices that will move you forward to that goal! I know you can do it!!! :)
As for me, I have upped my walking this weekend and am paying for it with aching knees today. I NEED to get my butt to the pool. A water workout will be easier on my poor joints! I averaged about 120oz of water each day all weekend which I was proud of and I of course stayed the course on my eating plan in the face of lots of temptations. I really think that knowing I can have a treat when I want and that I am really focused on feeling better than actual weight numbers this time around has really helped me this time around. I had half a regular chocolate chip cookie at dinner last night and it was good, and all I wanted! hehe (I also had a great salad, two small pieces of veggie & sausage pizza, and lots of water. This was at our all staff meeting so the selection was limited but I did great!) I plan my meals so I know I will have what I want when I want it. :) Tonight I am gonna have some apple slices with natural peanut butter with dinner, yum!!!
Have a happy & healthy day all! I think it looks like we won week 1 though no official announcement yet, so congrats all if we did! :) I can't wait to see how we do tomorrow!!!

I had a small victory yesterday. I bought a new pair of jeans in Aug that I could button but were too tight to wear out in public. I'm 34, a little too old to look like the teenagers in pants that are 2 sizes too small. Yesterday I tried them on and they fit!! I could wear them now without looking embarassing. I haven't lost much weight but my body is really changing.
I rode the bike for 60 min this morning. I didn't want to and had to really force myself to keep going. My son came home all sad from school yesterday, feeling like he doesn't fit in. He's in 1st grade. He is not in a class with his 2 best friends from last year. They have 90 min of uninterrupted reading time this year but he goes to the 2nd grade to do his. He's so far beyond the fluency level of his class that he could regress listening to the Saxon phonics in his room. He also gets pulled out to do accelerated reading and math. He loves getting out of his class to do these things. I've talked to the 2nd grade teacher and he's doing great with the reading there. I think the main problem is that his best friend is across the hall so when he comes back to his room he doesn't have that friend to talk to and regroup. So I'm doing my mom job and worrying about him. I'm hoping this phase passes quickly. I'm going to have lunch with him today (I'm not actually eating there today) and see how his day is going.
Hey Liz, I know what you mean. I'll be happy to break even this week, instead of gaining 3 lbs!!
I wasn't sure if there was a chat last night, I guess I checked too early. Is that going to be every Mon at nine?

Good Morning Red Team,
Sorry I didn't make it to chat last night. I had Weight Watchers, had to pick Taryn up from Gymnastics, stop by the store and then when I got home DH wanted to watch a movie we had from Netflix so he could return it. I also still had to eat dinner.
The night before I didn't sleep well because I drank ice tea. Last night I slept good. I needed the good sleep.
For tonight once you officially weight-in, please cut and past the running weekly total to your post. Lets do new loss/total loss. Try to use the one that the last person posted so the most current will always be in the last post. This will make it easier for me to post the results. I have football practice tonight so I'll be pressed for time.

I'm sorry I've been missing in action. I had a medical issue with a Kidney Stone and had to jump right from ALMOST recovering from that to Girl Scout Camp this weekend.

I just got done running/walking 3.25 miles. Woo hoo. I lost 3.6 this week! Woo hoo. I really expected it to slow down a little, but I'll definately take it and be happy about it. I'm hoping that since I was gained a lot so quickly since the end of June my body will remember the lower weight and really lose this weight quickly.

Hey all,
I should have done this a week ago, but I am removing myself from the Biggest Loser challenge. I'm really not at a place now where I'm motivated for a challenge and willing to focus on it.
I never meant to join--I made a silly comment in the original thread about wanting to be on Mike's team, mostly to complement him on his amazing sucesses thus far, not as a serious intent to join up. Once I realized that it had been taken seriously and I had been signed up, I thought I'd give it a try, but I've quickly realized this is not where I need to/want to be right now.
I wish you all every success!

Good evening everyone...
Thought I'd report in. Got on the scale today and, surprisingly, I'm down four whole pounds!!! Go me. Didn't think I'd done that well. I got in 100 minutes of exercise today, too. Walked a bit over five miles, and I've even decided to try Jorge Cruse's program. I'm only on my second day of that, but I like it so far. I figure every little bit helps, right? I'm planning on going whole hog on the exercise tomorrow, too. Jorge and another extended walk, and ... lawn-mowing! Our grass is a tad shaggy, and that's a good hour of sweating. Y'all can come pick me up later, after I've collapsed from exhaustion. Bring cold beverages. ;)
Keep moving, team!
