Can anyone recommend a nice hotel for two families with 13 and 11 yr olds to stay in? (minimum 3.5 star), and what's the best location given we'll have to cram a lot of sites in just a couple of days?

We're going to stop off in San Fransisco for a couple of nights when we fly out on our ski trip to Lake Tahoe next Easter.

Also, any ideas what the weather will be like in SF around the 31/3 - 2/4?

Thank you :teeth:

We have been to SF twice and both times we stayed in the Holiday Inn at Fishermans Wharf. You're within walking distance of Pier 39, the cable car turnaround and Ghiardelli Square. They also have an underground parking lot for guests. We left our car in there most of the time and used the excellent public transport around the city! The other bonus is that the Holiday Inn at the Wharf has a 24 hour Denny's in the lobby so even if you wake up at 4 am you can get a decent cup of coffee or a snack! :flower:

Another vote for the Holiday Inn, fishermans wharf is a great area to spend a few days in

My DH recommends the Sir Francis Drake or the Westin St. Francis. Both are located in or near Union Square.

Feel free to PM me if you would like more specifics regarding this since we live about 15 minutes (without traffic) from SF.

A great town to visit. Ive stayed at the Holiday Inn Fishermans wharf too. Great location, a number of small places close by to eat, near a maritime museum, short walk to the bay, trolleys, F line street cars. There is a Walgreens around the corner for soda, snack. They do charge to park your car there. Before you go check the web on SF tourist sites for $ off coupons for boat tours, bus tours. Have fun.
