I’m all booked up for 2006

Virgin Fly Drive (although not taking the car) depart the 14th Dec return 1st Jan. 10 nights at POR, 4 night cruise (this is a surprise Christmas pressie for DH and DDs they know absolutely nothing about it) and then Coronado Springs for 4 nights.

Got my invoice from Virgin at the weekend and discovered they had given me even more discount £400 instead of £200, result :cheer2:

Have just ordered the Unofficial Guide and Passporter Cruise guide so I can commence planning. :teeth:

The only downside is the long, long wait ;)

Virgin Fly Drive (although not taking the car) depart the 14th Dec return 1st Jan.

Hi

Did you book through the virgin website or through a travel agent?

How do you book a fly drive but not take the car?
Do they offer transfers instead?

Are you booking your hotel separately then, as I guess fly drive, literally means the flight and car hire or transfers?? :confused3

I booked directly through Virgin online. We just wanted flights with Virgin but we wouldn’t have been able to book these till the end of January at the earliest (no way could I wait that long!) but we could book a flydrive. We don’t want the car with Virgin as they are too expensive for car hire and insurance so after checking on here that we could book the flydrive but not actually pick up the car that’s what I did. We probably will hire a car but we can shop around for the best deal nearer the time.

I looked at booking the hotel direct with Disney and then priced up the tickets we wanted. I also got a quote from Dreams Unlimited. When I compared the two, Dreams Unlimited were slightly more expensive than doing it separately but having used Dreams Unlimited before I decided that the extra was worth paying as it means they will sort out all my dinning reservations and any other stuff we want to book.

Also, if you book with Disney and you don’t want the car you can now use the Magical Express which transfers you to/from the airport.

Hope this helps but if any other questions let me know.

Oooh, thanks for all that info. :sunny:
I will have to have a look then.

If we do go, I fancy booking virgin flights through either virgin or expedia, hotel through Disney website, tickets through someone else, but all that's left is getting to and from airport and hotel as we don't want to hire a car.

If I book my hotel through Disney website, can I still use the magical express thing, as it doesn't mention it on there??!! :confused3 :confused3

Yes when you book via Disney direct I'm pretty sure you can use the Magical Express.

If you do decide to do it all separately I would suggest also getting a quote from Dreams Unlimited, you can get a quote for accommodation only or accommodation plus tickets or accommodation plus tickets plus dinning (this is the package we've gone with) it doesn't cost anything and you don't have to go with it but it gives you something to compare with and it may even work out economical.

Don't worry, I will.

I am going to get separate quotes as well as packages and see what works out best.

Got lots to do.....

And I am still nervous DH will change his mind, as we haven't definatly decided to go yet, which is why I haven't posted a 'Wooohoooo....banana boogie' post yet!!

Thanks for your help, I'll be back.....
