We are getting into Orlando right during rush hour. We thought we'd get dinner and wait out the traffic when we arrive. Are there any good restaurants near the airport? We are heading to the RPH at Universal, but know we'll be hungry and in no mood to deal with traffic. What would you all recommend??

Thanks :flower:

I'd get my luggage and rental car set up. Put the bags in the car, then go back in the airport and eat at Macaroni Grill.

Keep in mind that generally speaking, it will take easily an hour from the time you get off the plane until you are ready to drive away, and it could be a lot longer if luggage takes awhile and then there is a line at the rental counter.

So rush might be over by the time you are actually able to leave anyhow.

Thanks, ducklite. I guess I left some important informaton out of my post. We have factored that time in. We actually get in town before another family member and will be waiting for her in the car outside baggage claim for her 5:32PM arrival. She won't have any checked luggage and we should be able to just pick her up and hit the road. Just not sure where to go from there.

Orlando is a big airport.

It has restuarants, snack bars inside it.

MacDonalds, Chick-fil, Burger King, etc some nice sit down ones - but I have food allergies so I don't visit those.

US is about 20 minutes away.

I think I'd park the car in the deck and eat at the airport still. Worth paying the $3 in parking IMHO to not deal with rush hour traffic in Orlando.

There is a Chilis, and I think Dennys and Hooters about a mile N of the airport, in the same area as the airport hotels.

I think the Macoroni grill has better food.
