The cute articulate kid is on the emmy's....

Ok--some will know what I am talking about...but his name is Charles.

I'm watching and wondering--how'd they pick that kid to get on the emmy's from the hurricane...and then it clicked! It's the articulate boy they had shown on the news!!!

He's still cute as a button...and he and I assume some child actor whom I did not catch his name....kind of did a PSA of sorts for the hurricane.

Charles was the kid in the Spongebob Squarepants shirt that was on the news 2 or 3 times, maybe more. The other kid is the star of the new show Everybody Hates Chris. What a neat experience for Charles. Maybe he'll have a career in tv too.

It was heartwarming to see Charles on the Emmys. I love his smile and it is contagious because I could not stop smiling as I watched. I saw him a few times on TV right after Katrina hit and I cried. I have been wondering what happened to him and his family. Charles is one cute little boy and I hope we get to see more of him on TV.

I saw him too!!! I watched them walk out and I said HEy!! That looks like the kid....Hey it IS him!!!!!! He was a real cutie and was very dapper in his tux!!! His Grandmother has done such a great job with him. He is such a kind old soul and I truly truly hope that some rich person out there arranges for him to have a great education paid for. It would be a shame for him to get in with the wrong crowd. If I had that kind of money I would make the arrangements myself!!! I loved the features that NBC's Campbell Brown has done on him...especially the one about his Great Aunt that died. I was crying during that one.

Charles and his Grandmother, along with his Great Aunt were evacuated to the airport for a few hours (the one that served as a sort of hospital) and then flew to I think Baton Rouge where a family took them in. I thought it was an Uncle but later on no mention of this man being an Uncle was mentioned so maybe..maybe not. Anyway..shortly after arriving in Baton Rouge the Aunt died(she had been very ill) and later on Charles was found on the computer writing the obituary about his Aunt. The man(uncle???) was crying his eyes out telling the story. How he had not been asked to write anything but that Charles had taken on that task himself. He had always been around elderly people and really did not know how to be a kid but was always taking care of his grandmother,great aunt and others. This man has kids himself and is trying to get Charles to learn to be a kid. It is such a touching story and NBC says they will stay with it and do updates on him. When Campbell was telling Charles she came all the way from New York to do a story on HIM..he just could not believe it. He did not think anyone knew who he was...he had no idea millions of people were asking about him!!! I love this little boy.
