Hello all

Reality is starting to set in already and I don't like it, nope not one bit! Is anyone else doing laundry today? Bleck. How did this happen? A week ago we were so happy... walking around Key West or preparing for a wedding. Where did we go wrong? We too a wrong turn somewhere and I want to go back!

i feel your pain donnica. MAGICal withdrawal is NOT fun. rather depressing. i had to go online and listen to bits of deck party music from amazon. it was not the same in my living room. :(

god, i can't wait to go back!!!!!!! i'm already checking out prices for a 4 day cruise in the spring. trying to see if we can swing it and still meet our goals for a week at animal kingdom lodge next september. it'd take some creative financing on our parts, but we're motivated. faith, trust and pixiedust!

we too are doing laundry today. washing everything, especially those semi wet and stinky clothes that refused to dry in our stateroom. NOTHING would dry in that room it was incredibly annoying. christine accidentally wore her tevas in the water at castaway, and we took them out of the luggage and they stank like seawater, eeeww! also we have no food in the house so we are stuck eating ramen and choc chip cookies. ha ha. christine actually said yesterday at the airport when we stopped to eat: "god, i have to put my own napkin in my own lap now" are we spoiled or what?

pulled out our disney cookbook and noticed a recipe for konk koolers in there. hmmmm... i'm thinking we should have a "northern exile" deck party here in mass. what do you think? i'm already trying to put together some music cds to commemorate our voyage. one deck party cd and one self party posse/rockin bar d mix... got any song ideas for either? for deck party: upside down, celebration, macarena, etc. for rockin bar d: definitely the humpty dance. ;) and i'm sure heather will appreciate "i've had the time of my life" on that cd. :earboy2:

Yummmmmmmmmm Konk Koolers! I only had that one, the one that I believe was supposed to be yours! LOL! It was yummy though. Oh it sounds like we could create ourselves quite a party with that music and the Disney recipe book. I think Jay would just be happy with chicken tenders.

I didn't have any food in the house when I got home either. We went to the 99 when I got home. My boyfriend had a pina colada and I realized I didn't even have ONE on the cruise! What is THAT all about!!!!! I think we might have to have some of those at our party too. My boyfriend has already created a place for all of us to post our pictures. I will send the link to you in e-mail. Oh right... I need your "real" e-mail address to send it to you. I never did figure out how to post pictures or anything here yet. I have a couple of you guys I can send directly to you.

Can we go back yet?

D: I'm sending you a private message with my personal email and phone number.

Yes. You are a cruise ho.
Though Heather is giving you a run for your money is terms of "most people made out with."

Found my chicken maracas from "cahlos and chahlies" today in my luggage.
Better bring those to the party too. Ok so when exactly are we having this party? Soon I hope. I need a party chaser for my vacation.

Did I tell you I have a photo of Jay dancing AND eating chicken tenders. Way too funny.

Yeah! Someone for the 9/10 Magic has checked in! Boy, do I have some questions for you....OK?

Mostly, those of us with a Western cruise in the future just want to make sure the schedule of casual/formal/pirate nights and the menu themes are what we were told to expect. Provided your itinerary didn't change due to weather, did you still have:

Sat/Casual what was the menu theme?

Sun/Casual, same question

Mon/Formal, same question

Tue/Casual, same question

Wed/Pirate, pirate menu

Thu/Semi-formal.......did you have lobster on the menu that night?

Fri/Casual, same question

Now, I'll probably be asking these same questions to the first group that does the Western after dry dock too, just in case Disney makes changes after that.
Thanks for your help.

whats up everyone, Me and my gf, could have done the stingray thing at castaway cay at 2pm for free, but didnt cause we could have only had 1 hour at the adult beach, by the time we got back from our seahorse excursion, oh that was the best! really nice reef, anyways the guys said it was opening today, and $30 a person...

hello ibouncetoo~

food.... was a hot topic of discussion at my table every night. my overall review was that the food ranged from good to spectacular with Palo being at the spectacular end. my least favorite food was animator's palate and most favorites were Palo and parrot cay. mostly because parrot cay had spicier/more flavorful foods than animator's and lumiere's.

saturday, first night menu: i think it was just creative american. i ate in animator's that night and had chicken

sunday, 2nd night: i ate in parrot cay, don't recall what i had, it was pretty good though

monday, 3rd night: formal night, ate in lumiere's, it was fancy, stuff like duck on the menu

tuesday, 4th night: i think this was chef's night: i seem to recall eating pretty well, i think i has some kind of seafood pasta in animator's palate

wednesday, 5th night: pirate night, ate in parrot cay: food was great, interesting stuff, plus the pirate buffet later on deck is NOT to be missed, so don't stuff yourself at dinner.

thursday, 6th night: captain's gala dinner/semi formal: this was lobster night. although i had the chef's recommendation turkey which was wonderful.

friday, 7th night: i had palo reservations, so i dunno but think the theme was "around the world"

one of the food highlights of the trip was the thursday day at sea midday barbeque on deck, steak, chicken and grilled marlin, they were grilling it right there by the pool, it was fantastic along with a little live calypso music. oh i wish i was back!

i also didn't have any room to sample anything from the fabulous midnight dessert buffet which was thursday night, but i have amazing photos. wish i had tried something. my photos aren't very edible! ;)

enjoy your trip~

hey everyone! as far as the food goes, i agreed with stina. the food was good or spectacular, depending on where and what i ate. palo was spectacular all around. some dishes in parrot cay and lumiere's were spectacular. i didn't care for animator's palate. but you know, the menu themes (except for pirate night) weren't all that meaningful to me. maybe if it was a 10 day cruise, where 4 nights were special themes, maybe then it would mean something. but really, the captain's reception was on monday night i think but the captain's gala menu was on thursday. that really didn't make sense to me. also, having an Around the World menu is odd, considering that every menu had items from Around the World. except for the pirate menu, which was tied into the whole night's entertainment, the special menus were just like regular menus. i thought it would be nice to have 3 different menus for the 3 different resturaunts, and maybe 2 special menus (captain's gala and pirate). that way when i came back to parrot cay, it would have the same menu and i could have 2 things off the parrot cay menu.

on tuesday night we told our head server that the food wasn't flavorful, not spicy enough for us. on wednesday night there was a marked improvement in our dishes. still not SPICY, but more flavorful. we were glad about that change.

the best food was at palo and the deck parties. don't miss out on the special deck parties and the dessert buffet.

i was thrilled and absolutely amazed by everything about my disney cruise except for the food. most of the food was good but didn't knock my socks off the way the entertainment/parties/service/drinks/atmosphere/stateroom/etc did.

Another Sept. 10th cruiser checking in! We got to do the stingray excursion at Castaway Cay for free. It was really cool they have removed their stingers so that you can't get stung. They brought out a platform so you could see them closer and feed them. Then you got to swim with them it was really fun except it took my husband a little bit to get used to them swimming near him. I agree I am ready to go back!! I keep telling my husband can we make another reservation?

stina
09-22-2005, 09:31 AM
donnica: yeah i have a feeling the self-party posse will be haunting me forever! lucky me. ;)

so...the stingrays at castaway have their stingers removed? is that the case with the stingrays at grand caymen? because i swam with the rays at GC and they were fine, nobody got stung, even those my foot accidentally stepped on a stinger tail, it felt prickly but no sting. seems kind of odd to remove the stingers, kind of takes the thrill out of interacting with a really WILD animal.

i do have to report though that the stingray experience at GC was amusing. on the boat ride over there were about a million kids just as excited as could be to jump in the water. and when we got there and actually got off the boat and the rays started swarming us, general panic ensued, there was much screaming and crying and kids climbing up their parents yelling "get it off me!" i think some of them got back on the boat, and the rest of us stayed and it was fine. actually more than fine, amazing. those rays really responded to the squid we fed them. i really liked feeding them. they were like big cats just rubbing up on us waiting for their "treats."

ahh, yes, Donnica. how could i even add the Self Party Posse to my list of spectacular things about the cruise? you all were not spectacular. you did not knock my socks off.

there was kissing of mexican cab drivers. there was water squirted at unsuspecting fellow cruisers. there was much dancing with chicken tenders. there were some of us who almost missed the boat out of 2(!) ports.

you were so much more spectacular than spectacular. and i only ever wore flip flops, so i had no socks to knock off. only the words of the Self Party Posse motto can express the way i feel about you...

"We do not join the party. We bring the party."

LOL!!!!!

Well there ya have it!!!! We had so much fun with you guys, we all just fit so well together. I couldn't be happier that you guys also live in the same state! How great is that! This way we don't have to just wait until the next cruise to bring the party home! :grouphug:

I talked to Jenn today and she was also already asking when we are going to get together. Man I'm gonna miss her (them) when they move back to Florida. I know it gives me a reason to go there but I can't just drive down and have dinner for the night like I can now. Ok ok ok.. no sadness talk lol

Are we back there yet?

Ok so who were the two that I had to run back on the ship with in Cozumel? We spent a good amount of time in Carlos and Charlie's together and then the ships officer informed us that we had to run! LOL Of course I found out later that we weren't in fact "late" but that everyone else was already on the ship so they wanted to leave early. Well, don't make me RUN for THAT! I remember they were from Canada and they were in their early 20's. I think we had somebody who fit that bill her of the boards but I can't remember their names! I know, I know but domn I was there 4 hours.... would YOU be able to?

Are we back there yet?

Donnica, look at you trying to find out the name of the nice 22 year old Canadian newlyweds! I think they must be hiding from you!!!! Let them go back to their "regular/non-Carlos n Charlies" lives. I think you brought them a little TOO MUCH PARTY!!!! :rotfl: Christina was talking to some Canadian 22 year olds on the pre-cruise meetup thread. I wonder if they were the same people? Hmmm....

David, David. How much do I miss you? You are such a great guy. You were so good to take such care of us. And you have some wicked sweet dance moves. For real. I can't believe that we don't get to just hang out whenever! Nobody brings the party like you! No wonder you had groupies. You are the perfect Disney Cruiser.

Yo SPP! Oh my god. This is what is so funny. I actually TOOK those photos. I've seen them what...10 times now, and I am at work and just saw them posted on this thread and totally busted up laughing right in the middle of work! THAT's how kick butt this cruise was. And just so you know we have way MORE pictures where these came from. heh heh heh...

Dave Party: You are in the most magical place on earth and you are lamenting the lack of confetti? Man you have cruise fever REAL bad. We might have to put you through quarantine at Castaway Cay for a while. Bet you'd like that huh? :sunny: In all seriousness though, we LOVE you David! :grouphug: We had so much fun with you and we miss you! I SO wanna go on another cruise with all of the SPP. Unfortunately I think the soonest I can get time and $$$ to cruise is 2007. :( But maybe there will be some killer destinations by then and we can do it up in a 10 day cruise or something. I miss all you guys and it stinks that we're all so darn busy WORKing (yuck) and that we can't have a cruise reunion right now!!!

I suffer from lack of bahama mamas, margaritas, konk koolers, sea breezes....
the list goes on... :rotfl:

I also suffer from lack of DECK PARTIES! Woo hoo!
Going out on my porch and dancing around doesn't help. We don't have any of those fancy dancers in my neighborhood who know how to do the Mickey Macarena perfectly.

Hey to all members of the self party posse!!! I miss you all on a possibly unhealthy level. First off I want to thany y'all for making our wedding cruise truly amazing!! :grouphug:
As I was not a member of the dis-group thus far i just read the back postings and nearly wet myself laughing!! (granted the Donnica shimmy :rotfl2: in BOB's is still in the lead for the item that made me laugh most on the boards)!!!
I have a couple of comments and questions for the back postings - sorry i know i am behind!!!
1. David I knew you had some SWWWEEEETTTTTT Dance moves :dancer: but from the posted picture I feel a career change may be in your future!!!
2. Could I possibly be any more trashed on pirate night???? pirate:
3. I know I enjoy me some dancin' and some chicken fingers but i didn't remember a picture combining these favorite past times!! That i will need to see!!! :cool1:
4. to Christine: the around the world menu was in reference to epcot world showcase restaurants specifically!!! :drinking1
5. The rays are not altered in Grand Cayman and that is why GC is where I will continue to play with my ray friends, not in the penned off, defense mechanism removed sham on castaway!!!!:fish:

Alright enough for now - can't wait to see you all soon!!!! ::MickeyMo

Hey Jay!!! So glad you joined us. Thanks for the answer about the Around the World menu, oh great DCL swami. Is there anything you don't know? Why didn't I ask you in the first place? I will know better for next time. When in doubt, ask Jay & Jenn!

To make up for the fact that you look (are) wasted in the pirate photo, here's one of us for the 5 minutes that we cleaned up and looked like normal average people:

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a356/christinehanna/formalnight.jpg

Here's the dancing & eating photo you requested...don't think those are chicken tenders, but this is the one I have:

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a356/christinehanna/jaydanceeat.jpg

And for good measure, another photo of us looking normal...the whole posse...this was the first day, like 5 hours into the cruise.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a356/christinehanna/firstdaygroup.jpg

And because I can't leave off on a normal note...

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a356/christinehanna/80svogue.jpg

Last night when I was leaving a hard day at work, I starting singing the Humpty Dance to myself, then cracked up, out loud!!! This last photo also made me crack up at work...twice now! Good memories.

Love those photos! Thanks for posting those Christine. They make me laugh over and over and over. And the good news is, that I sent all my 561 photos to Shutterfly yesterday so they should be up online soon, and everyone can see them. I must have at least 50 of just 80s night. There's so many if you look at 'em quick it's like frames of a movie. But they are all worth it, couldn't toss any because every second we had another ridiculous dance move or something.

Welcome back jay!!! Knew you'd appreciate those pirate photos...arrggh...ye could not be any more trashed! But you're so much fun!

Jenn: love your idea of getting a pontoon and having our own cruise on the Seven Seas Lagoon!

Honestly I just laughed out loud again at the newly posted pics!! :rotfl: Thanks for puting them up so quick!!!
After we studied the picture in question-What is jay actually eating while rockin-out at rockin' bar d???- we conclude that they were in fact chicken, however, not tenders but rather drumsticks from the buffet in the hall!!!
I gotta head out to work now -SEE-YA!!!!!!!!!!

hannacanna
09-27-2005, 04:25 PM
Gotta ask you, Jay--how many napkins are required for a person who dances while eating? What ya got there, 45 napkins?! If you were that worried about getting messy, ya shoulda sat down! :rotfl:

I wish we would have taken a photo of the hall buffet waiters watching us on 80s night. Every once in a while, I'd look over at them and they'd be bustin' a move, and then when they saw me looking, they'd straighten up. Like I could judge!

I found a photo of Heather's boyfriend. She and I were fighting over him, I think.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a356/christinehanna/80sjosh.jpg
She said those Mexican cab drivers didn't hold a candle 80s Josh...

You mean ONE of Heath's boyfriends!

stina
09-27-2005, 05:13 PM
80s Josh was cool, but 60s Josh and 70s Josh were pretty rad too. And don't forget about Deck-Party Josh, he was bouncing off the deck he was so energized. Dang, we had great entertainment staff! Hannacanna: I think there are some good shots of Travis on 80s night as well, he was rockin out with those Axl Rose stretch pants.

Yeah, those waiters serving the buffet right outside Rockin Bar D were totally grooving. And when I'd look over they'd straighten up. But they were getting down to the Humpty Dance as much as the rest of us.

Jay: notice how almost all our photos of you are drinking or eating chicken?

...so is Heather LEGEND in Cozumel now? :rotfl2:

God bless the Self Party Posse!

Welcome JAY!!!!!!!!!!

Ok not only do I not feel SHAMED that I was sick and had to leve 80's night a little early but.... :::looking down biting my lip saying this::: I don't know the Humpty Dumpty. :confused3 I know... I know!! Please... still be my friends.

Right now I would like a plate of chicken tenders and either a bahama mama or a "Joman special". Ok so a Konk Kooler would be ok too. I did see the Konk Kooler recipe online for any of those out there feeling the NEED.

You know we all sound like a bunch of Dis junkies right?

So junkie is an appropriate title - however i do not want a 12 step program i just need to get my next fix!!!!!! :earboy2:

i completely approve of our disney junkie status. though jay i think you got most of us beat as far as sheer # of visits.

donnica: if it's any consolation we missed you so much on 80s night. as you can see we were all totally out of it and comandeered the dance floor after the evening's festivities. we even had a bunch of voyeurs which was a little odd but we kept drinking so we didn't care. :teeth:

avast, maties.

donna, we missed you so much on 80s night. we *almost* poured out for our fallen homie, but figured you'd rather us drink the alcohol. don't worry, that's one more thing to look forward to when we next cruise together.

my one huge cruise regret is that i had no sense of taste when we ate dinner at Palo! man, i am still kicking myself about that. not my fault...i was getting sick, and there wasn't anything i could do. the ship's shops had NO cold medicine except for nyquil. so i am looking forward to my next dinner at Palo and actually tasting the food.

and donna, it's the Humpty Dance, here's your chance, to do the hump! Do the humpty hump, do the humpty hump! ring any bells? i'm not going to post the lyrics cause i'm trying to "Keep It Disney" but you can look them up..."Humpty Dance" by Digital Underground. amazing that they played that song so much on the ship! that and "walk this way!" i wonder if they play so much nasty music because the people who work on the ship are mostly not from the US so they don't understand the slang references to naughty things. i mean, they played "walk this way" at the pirate party! with KIDS around!!! not that i'm complaining...i don't mind...i was just suprised.

dudes, thanks for posting so much and entertaining me during work!

Jay, I'm glad to hear you have accepted your fate. The good thing is you know you're not alone and we will be there for you holding you close while in the chicken tender line.

Drinks on you? Ok wait.... are you saying that you will drink other then on a cruise? <blink> Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!!! You pourin the first konk kooler? Notice I didn't say bahama mama for you.

I have to say that having been on the Disney Cruise it makes me want to go to WDW again. I haven't been in like 5 years! that year I think I was there 3 times in a year and a half. Ok so what are you trying to say? I can tend to obsess? Is that what your saying? Well... I think you need to take a long look in the mirror... mmm hmmm you know who you are.. all of you! i have a feeling that christina and i will be having a mini-80s party tonight...she just got me Purple Rain on cd and my boss (who i LOVE) just announced she is leaving my department! it wasn't a suprise but i am bummed. so bring on the prince and the rum. :( after today's nightmare day at work, i am going to need to relive some good memories.

hope y'all's days are going better.

yeah, jenn's gonna be married to the Mouse, jay!

hey forgot to tell you, christine and i are "disney married" as we like to say, we have our two little faces permanently imprinted on the leave a legacy. we'll have to tell you our tile # so you can see it! see, so it'll be like we're right there with you...

definitely get a tile. it is the coolest thing ever. we got ours for free last year, it was part of our special package that we got. we got to choose mini golf or a free tile. duh. of COURSE i want to be immortalized at WDW! wish i had had the foresight to get one of those ingraved stone walkway plates at magic kingdom. those are the coolest.

only 16 days until cruise reunion! yeehaw!

Hidy ho!

Jay I could never fill your shoes! <seeing at they are like a size 72!> :rotfl2:
I'm looking forward to seeing you all on the 15th! So what's the deal with this party anyway? Is it a pajama party? lol I mean if I went to the movies on the ship in my PJ's.... that was fun.

I would love some raw chocolate chip cookie dough right now. What this has to do with ANYTHING is beyond me but I just thought I would share. I think Disney should have that as a desert on the cruise. I need a suggestion box.

Donnica

So it's official... everyone is envious of my Disney Cruise Line sweater and justifiably so!

It was nice to see Jenn, Heather, Jay, Daniel, Beth and Cady tonight for dinner. It was almost like being at dinner all together at the table on the cruise. Ok who am I kidding... it was nothing like that! LOL But I did have a blue tropical drink... oh wait... two blue tropical drinks. They even give them a tropical name to put me in the mood.

How many days til our reunion?

Donnica
10-02-2005, 10:16 AM
Ok I have to ask...
why is there a big red banner on the Disboard page with an annoucement about NEW WDW discounts when you click it, it shows 2003 and 2004? Aren't we almost through 2005 now or did I just ahead?

Jay arrrrgh!!!!

Only 13 days till the land lover deck party at 245 Boylston Street - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donna: you can theme the party any way you like if you feel a pajama jammy-jam is essential than i say wear your PJ's!! That's the joy of a self party you can always decide what theme is best applicable for you - Pirate pirate: or Luau :flower1: (the flower was the closes icon to a lei) it will always be extremely fun and hilarious!!!!!!

The Mrs. and I are really looking forward to you all being here - See you real soon!!!!!!!!!!!! ::MickeyMo

yeehaw! can't wait for our reunion. i'm jealous y'all went out for dinner and had tropical drinks. though who am i kidding, i've been drinking margaritas even after i got back from the trip, even on a "school night" - guess we didn't fully dry out from our magical madness. and i haven't even washed my jimmy buffett margaritaville tshirt from key west yet. that's how much i love wearing it, can't be parted from it.

heck, i'll take any theme for the party. since we are staying over, pajamas are perfectly fine with me. christine and i thought we'd try to prepare some fun foods for the party to go along with our liquid happiness. we had these amazing nachos at sloppy joe's in key west, and this is the perfect reason to recreate them! jay: you'll definitely have to have chicken fingers. we should recreate our favorite "cruise foods"!

dudes, i can attest to the fact that stina has not taken that margaritaville shirt off. i'm going to have to sneak it downstairs to the wash, now that i know she hasn't washted it. and it has been 3 weeks.
i can't wait to see you all at the northern exile DCL reunion! i haven't heard the term "pajama jammy jam" since high school---woah! jay, you're takin' me back!
we'll mix up some sloppy joe nacho ingredients to bring with us. might try my hand at key lime pie.
stina and i feel like quite the social butterflies...my mom is coming up on thursday, we're all going to NYC on saturday-monday, and then the reunion on the next saturday!
donna, did you get that cute black sweater with the little white DCL logo? or was there another sweater i didn't see?
too bad david won't be able to make it to the reunion. we'll have to take photos and send them to him. we should have a David's Hot Dance Moves contest!!!

Donnica
10-03-2005, 05:28 PM
Ok I can honestly say I have never heard the term... pajama jammy jam but then again... I AM old! Not that I don't like term mind you, just never heard of it.

When we were talking cruise food the first food that came to mind for me was chicken fingers LOL How sad is that! With all the really good food we had on the cruise that is what popped into my head and the first thing I thought to bring. I heard all good things about Sloppy Joe's even though we didn't get to go there. Everyone asks me when I say I went to Key West if I went there and are very disapoointed when I say no. I guess if I ever end up back in Key West I will have to take it in.

The sweater I got is blue with the DCL logo on it but is probably the one you are thinking of. I can't believe (neither can Strick) that I spent $54 on a sweater! LOL He was like... it wasn't on sale? LOL Man do I have a rep or what? I have however taken my sweater OFF unlike someone we have heard about and their Jimmy Buffett shirt.

Where is David? I haven't seen him log on here in quite some time. Does he not want to hear about us getting together because it will make him sad? We wish you ccould be here too David, we really do!!!!!!!

What up, folks???? So, did any of you see that I had started that thread, "Bad Massage Experiences?" a while ago? I wrote on it about how Heather had that awful massage just to see if anyone else had a problem and a TON of people did! I don't think I'll ever get a massage on DCL again. Though, I do loves me some Rainforest!

hannacanna
10-04-2005, 08:45 AM
I did see that thread about the massages, Jenn, and I am really suprised. I was hoping Heather just had a bad experience with a bad massage therapist but I guess not. I guess the problems are throughout the spa.

I'd like to try the rainforest room, we had planned on it, but we were so hot and it was so humid every time we got off the ship, that inflicting further humidity onto ourselves was not appealing. Maybe next time. We'll probably do the sting rays in Grand Cayman and then get right back to the ship and do the rainforest room and pool then. Grand Cayman was great, but I'd rather spend more time on the ship next time.

When we planned our cruise and budget (yes, when we came up with the 3 drink maximum), I figured that I'd rather have spa treatments at a place with a system of repeat business. I figure that a therapist who wants repeat customers will do a better job than one who has different customers delivered to her place of business every week.

I hope that Disney catches wind of the bad experiences people have had and does something to improve the spa. There's no excuse for so many bad reports.

See, I think due to the nature of this particular cruise and what we were there for, Jay and I didn't do nearly as many onboard activities as usual. I usually hit bingo at least once (which Jay thinks is a complete waste of money but he won't be saying that next time when I win $5,000!) We also usually do some of the Art of Entertaining classes like napkin folding and "Fruit Ahht". We also really like to watch the adult pool games and stuff like that. We also usually hit a couple of movies. This cruise, ALL that I did off teh Personal Navigator was ONE movie. (Which was rather fun, as Donna, Dee and I went to Fever Pitch in our PJs) I'm a HUGE fan of days at sea because I love taking in all the ship has to offer. I guess we'll just have to sail again, won't we????

stina
10-04-2005, 09:17 AM
i miss david too! david where are you? :wave2:

donnica: i know the sweater you are talking about. i had my eye on the black one. but i have a black cardigan at home and couldn't justify the $54. though christine DID buy me a blue topaz ring on the ship. :earboy2: plus i don't think you guys ever saw christine and i in our matching DCL polo shirts. mine is blue, hers is pink. i let her have the pink one this time. ;)

jenn: glad to hear complaints are generating about those massages. for the amount they cost people should complain. i get massage therapy regularly at home so i opted not to do any on the trip and i'm glad i didn't have one. i did wanna try the rainforest room though and never got to it.

see ya all real soon! ::MickeyMo

do it ghetto style and rub peppermint oil on the outside (top metal part) of your shower head! it will warm up and diffuse the scent without getting washed away by the water.

we tried the ghetto vista spa idea last night...it worked, but it was not as long lasting as i thought it would be. maybe i just didn't use enough oil. maybe it would help make it more realistic if i just had stina elbow me along my spine a few times...

Ghetto Vista Spa!!!! :rotfl2: I cracked up when I read that! LOL! I love it!

Oh yeah... I forgot all about the 3 drink a day max... and just how did that work out for you? i mean ya know on like Joman special days and such. <blink> Man we should have asked him what was in those, they were goo gooo good.

I'm glad I didn't waste my money on a massage because if I had done anything in the spa it probably would have been that. I have big neck shoulder muscle issues where I could use some good deep tissue work. Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy get your mind outta the gutter this is Disney!!!! Sheesh you people... I dunno...

hannacanna
10-06-2005, 08:17 AM
well, believe it or not, the 3 drink max worked out really well. we "banked" a lot of drink $ early in the vacation, because we only had 1 or 2 drinks a day each in the beginning. later we drank 3 or 4, but we didn't go over the 3 drink/day max...i think we only went about $100 over our budget, $80 of which was a really overpriced lunch in grand cayman. so stina did a great job with budgeting!
i have trouble taking vacations, which i know is weird, i just don't like to spend money on anything. i get especially freaked out by dropping thousands of dollars. my family hardly ever went on vacation when i was little. we had a lot of fun, we went on trips, but they were significantly cheaper than what we do with WDW and DCL. stina knows that for me to have a good time---for me to actually agree to go!---she has to have everything budgeted out to the dime. if it wasn't for her, i wouldn't ever have even gone on vacation, because my aversion to spending money is more powerful than my desire to go on vacation. but now she's made me more comfortable with the idea, as long as everything is budgeted and we stay within the budget! my worst nightmare is a "final bill suprise..." i would really lose it if that ever happened. so we avoid that.
i'm a freaky weirdo.

hey, i just found out that stina's cousin has been reading this thread! so now her family knows our secret identities as 80s self party girls. my mom is coming for a visit today and i forgot to hide the liquor! this is what happens when nerdy honor students grow up and are introduced to Bad Influences. keep your kids away from people named Jay and Donna! both our families will now know the truth.

fltink
10-06-2005, 08:26 AM

10-06-2005, 08:50 AM
oh believe me, hannacanna's mom would love a DCL cruise. can't wait until we can get a whole family group to go. then we could get jay's family too and we could have one mega table and take over the dining room! they wouldn't know WHAT to do with us!

hannacanna and i are headed to NYC this weekend, hoping to hit the brand new mega disney store there. aahhh...i just can't get enough!

10-06-2005, 10:48 AM
yes, we will be a mere 3 blocks (i think) from the mega disney store!!!
next year, as you guys know, i am taking my mom and dad to WDW. so they will get a taste of our secret identities. however, i must say that DCL has WAY MORE party opportunities than WDW. that's one thing i really liked about DCL over WDW...more chances to Bring The Party. maybe i can talk my parents into regular vacations and eventually get them to go on DCL with us. it's the perfect vacation for large groups. my mom just LOVED the photos of Cady (did i spell that right?) she couldn't get enough of the adorable little pirate baby! and my sisters so want to go on DCL now. everyone was cracking up at the photos of us...it's plain to see how much fun we had!

Oh nice! Yeah it's all me and Jay's fault now.... mmm hmm I see how you are! I mean... not that it isn't possible because I do love to bring the party but... ALL our fault?

Now funny thing... I have trouble spending money too. Except.... when it comes to wanting to go on a cruise or cars. I do everything to get the most out of my money but to not cruise and have the money? Oh no no no... not this girl! I'm ALL about the cruise! I don't do all the over priced shore tours and try not to spend to much money but I WILL have a good time!

well, my mom arrived last night and it only took stina about 1.5 hours to bring the party. we went out to eat, stina got sloshed on a margarita, and said one particular very inappropriate thing IN FRONT OF MY MOM!!!!!
of course, the first thing my mom says when she walked into our pantry was, "wow, i want a pantry too!" second thing...."man, you guys sure have a lot of alcohol."
we have like 4 bottles. do you see why i wanted to hide it?!
now she thinks we're total alkies...after the drunk stina, the pantry full of liquor, and the party photos!

10-07-2005, 10:45 AM
i was not drunk!!! i was RELAXED. and i had a paper umbrella in my drink and it was all tropical and i was reliving my cruise days. you could have been too! then we could've just walked the 10 miles home. you know i just get HAPPY when i have ONE drink, i'm a lightweight what can i say? and we are so NOT alkies. in fact if we didn't have to WORK we wouldn't need to drink at all. blame it all on work. and on that damn self party posse. i seem to recall it was THEY who "forced" us to do a shot at Rockin' Bar D, and bought us drinks, and encouraged all manner of outrageous behavior (ahem, water guns, sliding on floors and staying out way too late) and scoffed at my 3 drink limit. SEE i have self restraint. i can't help it if there are bad influences out there. :rotfl:

i have a little over 6 months (and you have a little over a month) until i am not officially in my 20s anymore. and i gotta get all that 20s livin in, because i sure as hell didn't do any of it in my early or mid 20s. what a waste! guess older is wiser.

Hey Everyone!

I've been out rehearsing for my upcoming tour! Seriously, Disney enjoys working me all the time, so I am hard to get ahold of as Jenn and Jay can attest to. But I have some tasks that Jenn and Christina gave me to take care of this weekend. :earboy2: I am jealous that I will not be able to join you on the 15th. I'll have to send a little bit of love and a gift of laughter your way.
Jenn, I want a castaway club CD. :sad2:
I went to PI the other night and pretended it was Rockin Bar D, but there was no confetti and no cool people and it wasn't the same. (We get in free sunday through thursday now! So i still never go. Too many CP's. I'm heading back to the Magic Kingdom for the holidays and I start Tuesday. I'm doing all the christmas shows and jenn's favorite show ever, Cinderellabration. One of the guys from the ship is coming to land to do Mickey's TWAS the night before Christmas. I don't know which one yet, but it will be just a little piece of nautical life in my backyard.
I miss all of you and I can't wait to see you again soon. Still having separation anxiety!!!! Where is Rachel to tell all about my daily activities!

I hadn't been able to check on the boards for a while so i just caught up and trust me i am sitting here in hysterics :rotfl: : :rotfl2: :rotfl: !!!!!!

Less than 1 week to the land lovin' throw down and i for one cannot wait! Things are getting crazy around here with all the planning now needed to pull off this ever rapidly approaching departure date for Jenn and I!!! Side note it's official my mom and I are the same person and our OCD may need to be medicated soon!!!!! :confused3

Let the count down begin!!!!!!!!!!!! So do we count Saturday as a day since we will actually all be together that day???????? I say NO! And since it's my post anyway.... 4 days to go!!!!! So what are we eating and drinking? Strick just asked me what we are bringing and I said I didn't know. We need to coordinate so that we don't double something or miss something we NEED!

Jay.... I'm thinking maybe some BARBADOS BREEZE – Taste the tropics with this refreshing cocktail made with Malibu Rum, blue curacao and pineapple juice. Those are good and not to filling so that I can drink a bunch of them. Not only that... they are BLUE and that counts! Need me to bring some hurricane glasses? I think I have a some still here from various cruises.
Oh yeah and ummmm what are you being OCD about NOW?

Jay arrrrgh!!!!
10-10-2005, 11:01 PM
Jenn will have to coordinate the food and such as she has already set up certain items to be brought with certain people - I think?!?!?! :confused3

Donnica-My current OCD which overlapped that of Beth is the fact that on Friday night at about 4:15am i was awake wanting to scrub the grout in the bathroom with a toothbrush (because though we would have done it before you all visited i woke up with an irrational fear, i repeat irrational, that our landlord was gonna come show the apartment and have a full coversation with the new potentail tenants about how DIRTY <not good dirty> we were!! :guilty:
But the part that reinforces the shared brain with my Mom is that at the exact same time she was up moving the dishes around in her cabinet - because she woke up from a dead sleep because she relized that Dee emptied the dishwasher and didn't put the plates "in the right order" (in Beth's head and mine too her plates which are two different solid colors must alternate in stacking when in the cabinet!!!!

Enough about my current crazy - i cannot wait for saturday i am so in need of some SPP beverage consumption and relaxed aire!!!!! OOOWHEEEE faux tropics here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Bye!!!!!!!!!! :wave2:

yup, christine and i are both looking forward to the reunion. do we need to bring pillows or sheets or anything?

feeling a little worn down at the moment. had sat, sun, mon off and we were in NYC all weekend doing a marathon tour. we did get to go to the World of Disney megastore which was WAY cool. 3 floors and it has all the park gear and even character greetings. we got a nice photo with cinderella, no line to wait! christine mom shrieked when she saw cinderella, she'd never seen a real character before. it was funny.

Ok ummmm Jay... the plates have to alternate? Hell I'm happy to get them in the cabinet. Although... if Strick folds the towels in half and then half again, I redo them in a third and then half that so they lay over the rod without wrinkles. OCD? I think not ;)

Christine and I were in NYC this weekend and got to go to the mega World of Disney which was really great. Just like WDW. They even have character greetings. We also went to this club called "Jekyll and Hyde" which is just like the Adventurer's Club. It was fun, but not better than Adventurers - Kungaloosh!

:drinking1 Hi Heath!!! Welcome!!

I know what you mean about forgetting what to reply to! I do that all the time. If I go a couple of days and there are a bunch of posting I forget by the time I click reply and it's not like I can just click back and read it and go back...

JUST HOURS TO GO! :drinking1

What were you all too hung over today to make any replies here?

You were so funny last nite...specially my BRO.
How were you feeling today?
you were partying like a rockstar.:rockband:

Anyway.. I don't know if I did it right but I sent you all an
invite to the myfamily.com website... let me know if you
got it!

It was great seeing you girls.
Miss you David.

hey heather! good to see you too, and your little cutie the magnificent cady.
actually i fared rather well. jay kept those tropical concoctions coming but i was fine the next day, except for being exhausted because jay was STILL talking at 4:30am. ;)
i can't believe he doesn't need sleep. and i swear he made my drinks light because he knows i could easily descend into rockin bar d status should i be given the full force.

anyhow, last night i was laying in bed and just started cracking up to myself because and image of "Mt. Nacho" popped into my head. that thing was crazy wack funky.

perhaps you are right, perhaps we should transition to our own discussion group site since the DIS is kinda mad at us. we can't help it if we're the most popular SEPT. 10TH MAGIC cruisers.
:rotfl:

shout out to all my peeps! whassup?

First off let me start by saying I feel the Magic's cruise staff "Thriller" number on the September 10th western cruise was by far the best I've ever seen, at sea....how about you all???? (formality filled)

Heath we weren't too hungover we actually were just lucky enough to get to spend the day together!!! :grouphug:
C & C waited for me to get out of work and Donnica returned in the afternoon so we all had dinner together again which was fantastic.....though I am sure Stina is currently as I write formulating a way to blame us for her sleep deprivation!!!! HA, HA, HA!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: And everyone will be glad to know that i actually got almost nine hours of sleep last night 5 of which were uninterupted...now I'm good for another few weeks!!!!!!!

Though the Northern deck party for the SPP started out rather low key we had a truly "Magical" time.....Thank you Donnica the shirts rule, and C & C it has only been 2 days and I might have already worn out the cds- they're incredible so thank you again. :bounce:

David sorry to hear that you were sick  but we had a fantastic time and you were gavely missed!!!! :guilty: We will see you soon!!!!

Bye for now

p.s. our new pirate Mickey and Minnie pirate: are perched so that they can monitor the posts of these SPP members - Thanks again for them C & C

yup, totally digging the MJ number on the magic's 80s night. i've never seen anything like that, it was rad.

:grouphug: big hug to all the SPP members. yes david you were sorely missed during our party. we had NO sweet dance moves without you. :dancer:

jay you need to write a letter to not your average joe's and make them aware of HOW to cook a burger! and yes, i think the SPP is responsible for all my vices.

:rotfl2:

and will continue to be responsible! yee haw! :teeth:

hope to see you guys next weekend. :hourglass i really wanna take you guys to marche before you move outta the boston area. it's fun, seriously! you know we all love a theme! :cheer2:

it's monday, blah. but at least my weekend rocked. thanks guys!!!!!

Allow me to preface by saying...On my cruise from Sept 10-17, I was delightfully suprised that my stateroom (6713) was inside but didn't make me clausterphobic at all. The room layout was done very well and made it feel like a larger room. I didn't hardly miss windows at all...I thought I would, but I didn't. Also, when I go on my next cruise, I will make sure to watch the pirate party from deck 10. On deck 9 I was in the middle of the action, but it's hard to see the action when you are in the middle of it!

It was great to see nearly all of the SPP over the weekend! I am drinking a vat of coffee this morning, but I'd rather have FUN than sleep. Heather, thnks for doing the myfamily thing for us! It looks like it will be a lot of fun. I really feel like we've gotten a whole new set of relatives! Beth is always a good time...she reminds me of my mom and it's wonderful to see her. David, it was good to talk to you on Sunday. I hope you feel better soon. Cady, it was good to get to play and dance with you and kiss your little head! Dee, I always like talking with you...you keep your brother in line!

Jay and Jenn---thank you so much for your fun Disney hospitality! Your home is so comfortable....I loved playing with Mr. Duncan, hanging out, laughing, sleeping!!! You guys are the BEST and I can't wait to see you again. I haven't been to a house party in years...which one of you is Kid and which one of you is Play? :teeth:

Donna, it was so nice to meet Strick and to see you again. I am glad he stopped working long enough to have fun with us! I LOVE my SPP shirt--it fits great and it's so cute and perfect! How much fun!! Now we have matching shirts for our next cruise together. We'll once again be "those people."

I feel so lucky to have met you all...good friends are hard to come by. The DIS is great! It's what brought us all together. We're a DIS success story! We need to have a Disney True Holywood Story made about us.....
