I have one too, from Gerard Shield's column (Washington correspondent) in the Opinion/Commentary section of today's Baton Rouge paper:

The Jefferson Parish prsident gets the Huey Long award for the most pithy quotes. The best came from "Meet the Press" when Broussard expressed frustration at the fed response to his damaged area.

"Take whatever idiot they have at the top of whatever agency and get me a better idiot," Broussard said. "Just don't give me the same idiot."

Broussard couldn't be reached for comment becuase he was meeting with Dr. Phil. Watch this guy rise.


As an aside, the buzz I have heard from the Metairie (Jefferson Parish) residents that returned to houses that flooded that are NOT located in the flood plain and that are FAR, FAR away from the levee breaks is that the pumps in the area were not turned on before all the Parish workers left. Not sure which "idiot" is responsible for this, but I imagine he might be a Louisiana resident, not a Washington resident.

Not having all the pumps all on has caused flooding on previous occasions.
Pretty much par for the course.
