So hands up, who has started their Christmas shopping ?? I have, I have bought some bits and bobs, but as the girls want their pressies from WDW, I’ve got it easy this year. I’ve bought DH a digital camera, so I’ve just got the rest of my family to sort out.

So what is on your Christmas shopping list and what are the kids after this year ??

I'm getting really excited and I've posted this years Secret Santa too

I've started as well - normally do as both the boys birthdays are leading up to Christmas and DH is the youngest of 7 children so it all adds up a bit - normally start in the January sales for the neices and nephews and put them away in the same box in the loft so that we can find them - you do have to be organised though and keep a list so that you don't double up. I got a few bits 2 weeks ago in TK maxx they had an amazing sale and came away with loads of bits for £14 including swimming trunks for £1, PS board (to use with games like tony hawks etc to simulate snowbardign for £3) the box was a little bashed but not to bad, fondue set for Aunt £2 etc.

The boys want Nintendo DS for their birthdays no ideas yet for christmas but hopefully will get them to start thinking about it so that I can get them.

I got $100 in disney dollars for grandparents ready for their trip with us next year and also paid for DC for them for their Christmas pressie but they don't know that

Well I thought I was Christmas mad and well organised but you guys are amazing!!! Though I have to admit I looked at my list the other day and was amazed to find I'd got all my presents apart from DH, DS & DD so that's great. Trouble is, if I buy early, I usually see something nearer Christmas which is just perfect for someone so I buy that too so they either get 2 pressies or I've got their present for next Christmas before this one's arrived :rotfl: :rotfl: !

Started when index was closing down. Picked up a leapster game console for £40.

We have to start early as DD, DH and my birthdays are in Dec. Plus Crimbo of course so expensive.

We are doing most of our shopping in WDW as going first two weeks of Dec.

DD will be 4, is doll mad, so bought baby annabel, with accessories including, baby play mat, pram, clothes for the doll.

We always get her a learning toy, which this year is a writting table from Vtech.

Still got a little way to go, I love christmas. Really excitied. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hmmmm, Christmas!

I need to get the nursery finished and everything prepared for our impending arrival before I even begin to think about christmas :teeth:

DW was talking about getting all her Christmas shopping done early this year but I suspect she will be needing to do it in lots of short shifts as she gets tired very quickly at the moment.

Got a few things already and a few things in the present cupboard from last Christmas - Had a funny 5 minutes at the Boots shopping evening last year and bought gifts for people we had already bought stuff for so I guess I can use it for them this year ;) Just need to get up into the loft to see what I've got - or more likely send DH as I think I might get stuck!

DD wants everything advertised on Nick Jr except the Batman Toys (as they are for 'boys')

Intend to have everything more or less sorted by the time baby arrives but whether it will happen or not is another matter!!

Usually get the relatives presents done in September but only done a little bit due to the need to save up like mad for next year's Orlando holiday. Will be starting properly in October and hopefully manage to do a lot of it on line.

I think DH would like an IPod Nano or yet another golf club.

I would like a PSP.

DS17 is half thinking of an XBox 360.

DS15 would like an XBox 360.

However, for myself and hubbie it depends whether we have saved enough. If not Orlando will be our present. :)

We bought into the Hilton Club (http://www.thehiltonclub.com/) during our stay in New York. Not exactly DVC, but we figured New York is somewhere we will want to keep on visiting for years to come. We just love it there :cloud9: Holiday spending was a little "restricted" this year!

I always get all my christmas shopping done during half term week (DH and I are teachers.) We usually go to Milton Keynes and get it done in 1 day. We are celebrating Christmas a few weeks early this year as we will be in WDW on Christmas day and several other relatives are going to Australia for Christmas.

I have only bought one thing so far, a princess story dvd for DD. Have saved £47 on my asda savings card so that will go towards the christmas shopping. I love christmas and can't wait to get the tree up and start buying things. DH is having another op on his leg in 3 weeks so he will have to get me some bits before :goodvibes
DD wants Barbie and the Magic of pegasus (everything to do with it) Another Cinderella doll ' but mummy this one has a magic wand that lights up' Cinderellas glass slipper game and everything else she sees on the TV :)

I keep dropping hints 'Radley handbag' disney pjs and a Disney snowglobe :)

I love Christmas but like to get my shopping all done and dusted before December so I can sit back and enjoy.

My mum is the same Carol, when we went in May I bought one of those really nice wooden photo frames with Mickey icons on in a size 7 x 5, and then I had about 4 photos developed at Wal-Mart to fit them, and she loved it.

Thanks Mandy, great idea but unfortunately have done the photo thing every xmas birthday and mothers day for years!! due to not being able to think of anything else! I'm sure she'll see a snowglobe or some item of clothing or something she wants when we're there so I don't worry too much, Callum is the big problem really as his birthday is in October so by xmas he's had everything he wanted for 2 months already!!

DS2 is due in hospital on the 14 November and will be in for approx 2 weeks and then possibley off school until January, so I'm on a mission!!

Also have DS1 birthday in November so have that to get sorted.
The plan is to get our family done ie DH,DS1 and DS2 first. I have asked all the rellies what they want and have said if they don't let me know pretty soon then they will be getting gift vouchers this year, which I hate doing as I love the Christmas thing, choosing, buying, wrapping and giving.

DS2 is easy for once as there is a load of new Train bits out he wants add a few new DVDs and CDs I think I will have cracked it. Also I will be able to shop on line if I'm home to receive the deliveries!

We noticed that ASDA in Nuneaton had cleared a large area of shelving last Saturday, so I guess the Xmas stuff is going in there :)

DW is planning to do our Xmas shopping next Saturday in Leicester. We don't really want to leave it 'til the last minute because we will be too excited and preoccupied with our WDW trip :)

We will also be putting our tree up a little earlier than we usually do :)

I always leave a lot till the last minute, as a few years back, nearly everything I had bought (especially kids toys) were reduced by Christmas Eve!!

Will probably do most online this year as my ever growing bump will not be condusive to battling my way round the shops!

If it was possible to find flights to Orlando CHEAP about a week before Xmas we would be off! Wouldnt bother with the parks - just dont want the hassle of Xmas at home this year - last year I got quite used to looking smugly at everyone "doing Christmas" and getting grumpy whilst knowing we would be in Florida! Unfortunately, "Flights, Xmas and Cheap" do not belong in the same sentence!!!

Presents this year include..DD wants the Lego police station and airport that Argos are selling as a twin pack, a hair braider, Peppa Pig house and car, plus every toy she advertised between now and Dec 25th!! DS never asks for anything (just had his birthday and struggled to buy for that!!) but we will probably get him a new play tent and some Duplo bricks.

I don't condone shops dragging us in earlier and earlier each year but I am getting the 'xmas feeling'.

Perhaps it is because it is getting darker & cooler in the evenings or maybe because DF & my mam have been asking what I would like as a present. But who cares?! I loooove Xmas!!!

This will be mine & DF first in our first house and unlike previous years where we stayed at his parents will be at our home this year and doing all our visiting on boxing day :goodvibes .

DH wont even start thinking about Christmas until the last week of November and gets really annoyed about all the decorations etc in the shops and adverts on the TV.

I love it all so have to just keep quiet and do things when he is out of the way. I make all my own Christmas cards so that gives me good reason to do Christmassy things and he doesnt complain about them as he knows I need to get going early to get enough made. Any shopping is also done surrupticiously (sp?) when he's not with me.

It does spoil it a bit not having him share the excitement but it's better than having an argument which is what happens if I try and get him to join in.

Question for those going to WDW over Christmas. What are you going to do at home for decorations? I mean are you going to put any up at all? Are you going to put a few up? Are you going to take them down before you go?
I have decided that I am going to put my decorations up a few weeks earlier than usual. We are having a family Christmas meal on the 10th December as we will be in WDW at Christmas and other family members will be in Australia. I guess we will have to take them all down before we go. I might leave my wreath on the door and the ourdoor lights up though so it is not obvious no one is home.

DH wont even start thinking about Christmas until the last week of November and gets really annoyed about all the decorations etc in the shops and adverts on the TV.

At least he joins in in the end! My husband had never celebrated Christmas before he met me and even tho he buys presents now and joins in on the day its means nothing to him and so he doesnt get excited or care about it!

That's a shame. I could not imagine not bouncing off the walls leading up to Christmas :bounce:

How bad am I - well, when I first started going out with DP her mother invited me for Christmas dinner and then felt sorry for me so said I could come up in the morning and open my presents with them :) I chapped the door at 8am and woke up some sleepy heads :teeth: They were thinking I'd come up at 10/11am. Whereas I'd been up since 6am but knew that was too early :goodvibes

I always put my Christmas tree up on the last weekend in November, so it'll be up for 3 weeks before we go. I won't be taking it down till we get back as it'll be New Year. I've also arranged with mushumadness (Anna) to share a Christmas tree as she's at the Pop Century for the 2 weeks before us, and she'll leave it for when we arrive (Woohoo !!)

We'll be having a home Christmas Day on Dec 16th before we go up to airport so the girls can open their presents from friends and family, and then we'll have a mini-Christmas Day in WDW (OMG, this is just too exciting !!)

You know my kids have never ever woke me up on Christmas morning. I always wake up early with excitement then wake them up! I usually get them up at 6 am, makes a longer day to enjoy.

I love looking at the the title of this thread countdown. Thank you.

We left our lights round the outside of the house up this year (you can't tell when they are switched off) so hopefully we can switch them on early this year as I wont have to nag DH to get up the ladder as usual and worry that he will fall.

I am so excited. I did buy one present in June then stopped. We are taking two families with us to center parcs for New Year as a christmas present and I paid the balance off yesterday so that is another two presents taken care of.

I'm buying bits and pieces now all the time. Today I got youngest DD's Advent Calendar - I don't get the children chocolate ones as the first thing they do when they get up in December is open them and I don't want them having chocolate the minute they get up.

I've ordered lots of DVD's and books from Play and some of them have been delivered this week. I haven't got any cards yet as I like to have a really good look around and see what all the shops have got before I choose, so I don't get my cards until November but I send them out early December.

I like your thinking! I love champagne and champagne cocktails (I try and make a different one every year!) so will have to keep an eye out for bulk buying bargains! We're big Christmas fans and I love decking the halls. We bought some Disney decorations in WDW in May so can't wait to get them out. Boots have got a 3 for 2 offer on ALL their toys and it is a permanent offer. Very handy for me as it includes Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus and Bratz. Toys R Us have got a similar offer on selected items which finishes tomorrow. Our Woolworths haven't got any Christmas stuff in yet but they will have to have similar offers otherwise they won't be able to compete this year.

Very nearly finished on extended family, I will probably buy something from wiggle for my brother who is into riding bikes or an organic teeshirt by Howie. Then I only have £2 left to spend on Mam and sister in law each. :cool1:

Still have kids to do, one definitely wants an XBox 360 but it depends whether he can get one for Christmas or not. I preordered back in May so hopefully he will get one. The other son is still undecided about the XBox which isn't released till 2nd December. So I could have a mad scramble in December for presents for them, luckily most of the things they are into are available online.

Always had real until I saw the pre-lit ones available - they're so effective and large enough for my extensive (some might say excessive!) collection of baubles. I also get a small potted real one which IMO doesn't shed too much and I can then plant it in the garden. :flower:

It is now getting to the time to get the Christmas earings out. I have about 50 pairs so I can wear one pair every day. The trouble is I have my favourite ones and tend to wear them more than once which leaves some of the others ones unworn.

P.S. I love Christmas and my birthday is two weeks before so even better!!

P.P.S Off to Mackros tomorrow to see if there is anything special there

Cor, I had to check that Mark hadn't written this thread then, I had an image of him wearing some Christmas tree ear-rings (and it wasn't a good one) :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I've got quite a few (not 50 though) and my fave are my santa ones and snowman ones - I've had them about 15 years and people always comment on them in the shops (especially if it's July - NO Only Joking !!!). It's a great way of getting festive.

I also got some bits and bobs for hubby and friends but I didn't get anything for myself - Never mind I had a great day :)
