Pics of damage in Slidell/Biloxi

Here are the rest of the pics taken from my hospital crew's trip to evacuate patients. The first ones are of us on the way down, then of us unloading supplies and pictures of the air force planes and medevac choppers they were using to transport people. There are some pictures of people waiting in line at the only station that had gas, the line is unbelievable. The nurse who snubbed Matthew McConaughey is the first picture.

About midway through the slideshow, the pictures change to ones of damage on the way to and from Biloxi. I didn't take these, one of the security guards at Northshore Hospital took them on a run over to the other Tenet hospital there. The ones I couldn't believe are the ones of the flat concrete slabs where the casinos used to be moored. Now, there is NOTHING left.

So what happened with Matthew?

We were there for the animal rescue that Oprah featured on her show (I have a separate thread with pics of it) and Matthew McConaughey helped with it. One of the girls I work with didn't know who he was, and was more excited about Oprah than the "crocodile hunter man," since he was dressed pretty shabbily.

I'd be beet red...and it does sound like something I would say or do.

Oh, thank God she didn't say it to him. Everyone else was paralyzed with lust and awe, and she was like, "who is he supposed to be?" I have a hard time believing any 30 something woman DOESN'T know who he is.

He's been on my "list" (of people DH would just have to understand about if I fornicated with, along with Ron Livingston, Vince Vaughn, and a few others) ever since "A Time To Kill." Something about him sweating in those khaki pants and dress shirts....yummy! The fact that he got in trouble for being naked in his back yard beating on a bongo doesn't deter me at all. :rotfl:
