Just wondering if Sea World does any special decorations, shows, events, etc. at Christmas time. We are visiting in December and are trying to decide if we want to take a day off from Disney to do Sea World. We are passholders and spent quite a bit of time there last summer. My little guy loves it! He adores Shamu and sleeps with his stuffed Shamu every night. I know he'd love to go back. So, I was just wondering if they did anything special around Christmas time. Anybody know?

They haven't posted anything on their website about Christmas yet, but in the past they have had a Norman Rockwell Christmas theme. I can't remember if any of the shows were changed for Christmas so thinking they stayed the same. At night there is a huge Christmas light tree, but that's about all I can remember.

At Busch Gardens they put on a great Christmas Show in the Desert Inn that I can't wait to go back to see.

We were there last Christmas and yes, they do decorate for the holidays.

There was a photo op. with Shamu (the character) in a Christmas setting which made for a very cute photo! Although they had park photographers there, they didn't mind if you also took pics with your own camera. Needless to say, we bought the photo of DD3 with Shamu... :goodvibes

We didn't go and see it (just didn't have the time) but they do a holiday version of the Luau in the evening, too.

The huge tree is, sadly, no more. It used to be made by stringing lights from the skytower down/out to the ground. Since the waterfront was built and the bridge moved during the reconfiguration, the big "tree" is gone. That was one of my favorite things about the holidays there, and I hope they find a way to bring it back!

They do holiday-themed events with the animals, too. For instance, they give a Christmas tree (without decorations) to the polar bears, who love to wrestle with it!

The tree sounds like it was really cool. What a shame they took it down. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do when we go in Dec!
