Did you enjoy yourself? How was the weather? The beach? Was the pool chairs reserved at an early hour? Did you do the Turtle thing?

Aruna,
What did you think of Vero? We've been back from there for about 3 weeks. We had a great time (even though Katrina spoilt one day of our trip!). Loved the peace and quiet. I really thought that villas were spacious and very nicely laid out. The pool area was great and, when we were there, we had no problem finding pool chairs etc.
Hope you had a great time,
Andy

We were there about two weeks before Andy and we loved the place. We based ourself at the pool and alternated between there and the beach. There were no problem with the pool chairs although all the tables with umbrellas went 1st thing (not a problem for us as we were up and swimming early)
Vero is now a firm part of our Florida holidays :cool1:

I have booked for us to go next July for the 1st time :cool1: . DS is in a wheelchair if the umbrella's etc are all gone is there shady bits (he can't sit in the direct sunlinght) he can sit in whilst watching his brother in the pool. Also think we will be on the ground floor due to us needing an accessable room. Do you think DS if he sits in the porch be able to see anything or is there loads of shrubery in front of the porches.
any info would be grately appreciated as I like to be prepared and if there is something he can't / won't be able to do then I stay clear so he isn't disappointed.

Weather: raining to start and a bit muggy (probably Ophelia's influence) but cleared up wonderfully and was perfect for the last couple of days.
Pool: Never had any problems finding a spot at the pool in the shade, the weekend was busy but after that it was very quiet. Ali, there is a gazebo at the pool, so plenty of shade. It was never very busy as everybody wanted to fry in the sun ; )
Beach/Sea: Didn't go in very far, at knee-high you got some pretty big waves! after being bowled over by one I had about a pound of shells in my swimsuit!! lumps & bumps I never knew I had....
For a good swimmer it shouldn't be a problem.
No shade on the beach, so you have to hire an umbrella ($10/day for members)always lovely and breezy. The beach isn't that wide but lovely soft sand. Not many shells. Nice to walk along with your feet in the water..... mmmmm can I go back!
Turtle thing: This was end of season, so there were a few turtles still coming to lay eggs. you could see the tracks in the morning. Turtle talks were given. No going out at night though. They did Turtle Troop, where you go out in the morning and dig out and inventorise a nest after the turtles have hatched, I was unlucky as they couldn't find the nest, but on friday they found 75 turtles still in the nest and released them that night (which I did get to see)
Ali, we were in a 1st floor 1 br and there is a lot of foliage around the patio, this is for the turtles so that light shows less. It gives a bit more privacy too! There are lizards running about but no views. The main building has a lovely covered porch at the back facing the ocean, which is a great place to sit and watch the ocean. There are 6 rocking chairs and 2 sets of 4 chairs & table there.
Beach acces with a wheelchair is possible and we saw 2 people in Wheelchairs enjoying the resort & beach while we were there. They might even have one of those beach wheelchairs with the fat tyres that can be used...
The pool is lovely and warm and after 5 is not in direct sunlight anymore, it has handicapped access - the type with stairs that start at wheelchair height.
They have a great lot of activities going on, so there's plenty to do for the kids.
Hope this helps.
