I believe the getting your money back thing is for the regular auctions, not the RSG ones. I was told that if they couldn't find anything for me where I wanted to go that I could use it soemwhere else or I was out of luck. I had one I won hoping to use it in the Daytona area May 2004. Nothing ever came open, so I had to go back to Disney instead.

With it being a holiday weekend, I personally wouldn't use RSG, I'd try for a regular auction.

But to answer your question, yes, both of my winning RSG auctions I picked the weeks after I won them. First I got Orange Lake back when it still showed up (went October 2003, booked it several months before). Second one, I mentioned above. Ended up at Silver Lake.
