Venting here.

If you followed my post: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=902016 you are probably frustrated too.

Short version:
Fri afternoon: National Guard DH was told they are going to NO on Tues.
Saturday: Pack equipment & trucks all day.
Saturday night: Told NOT going. Grrrr....
Sunday night: Told going to Mississippi on Wednesday.
Monday: We repack & continue to pack personal stuff.
Tuesday: Goes in for shots & processing. Now told they are heading to CAPE COD (Otis A.F.B) to SIT THERE & WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY ????? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Ok, really there's more to it than all that.....but basically, they are SO frustrated. Send them the heck down there to help already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't even get me started on what he was telling me about the "preperations" (or lack there of) for the 2500 evacuees that are supposed to be coming to Otis AFB on the Cape. Some of the stuff will make them wish they never came here. :guilty:

I've been watching the "comings and goings" of your DH. Sorry to hear about his struggles. I *think* RafikiRafikiRafiki's (boy that's hard to type :teeth: LOL! ) DH was going through the same thing. I'm glad to see he will be needed sooner than later though.

Ack. I'd hate to hear about the conditions in Otis if he's already dreading it for those displaced. :guilty:

Still getting even BETTER!!!!! Grrr.

Tues pm: After being processed all day, they are told that they will head to Otis AFB, Cape Cod on Wednesday to load / weigh / balance the plane. But then, they are going to SIT there until Sunday -- at which time they will decide if going. ***???? :confused3

Wed am: I say good bye to DH. Not knowing exactly when or where he'll be going or for how long.

Wed lunch: He calls me. They didn't go to the Cape. They AREN'T going to the Cape. And they were told to go back to their regular jobs. In his case --his full time National Guard job.

He is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrated. They have been yanking them around for 6 days now!!!! Feel bad for the people with civilian jobs having to tell their families & bosses something different every 12 hours.

I'm ready to return everything to Walmart that I had to buy for him to go; and get our $150 back.

Don't know who's in charge of this mess ---- but they are just doing a SUPER job! (sarcasim)

Just keep the bags packed, you never know!

I have a friend whose DH told her "bye" for a tour in Iraq 3 times before he actually went...
oh, and DH was told he was coming home frrom Iraq on a certain date, then he was going to be extended (this I did not learn until he was HOME), then he was coming home, then they were extending him, then HOME as first planned, then he was home and they asked if he wanted to go back :smooth: .

Like I said, keep those bags packed...

FEMA called the people at charleson, SC airport to tell them to get ready that they would be receiving 150 people in need of care/housing/etc... they assembled ambulances, buses, supplies, staff, etc... to care for them and ....they never came. Seems those people went to a different city named "charleston" ...in a different state.

I wonder if THAT airport was prepared???
