I'm emotionally spent and trying to hold on. I went to school at dillard so I know New Orleans, the good and the bad. I just don't want people to work themselves up into such a state that the people who really need us are abandoned by us out of fear. Forgive me anyone who I have insulted. Please, i dont want to see us torn apart by this tragedy. We have to stay together. Emotions are so high.

These are the kinds of debates that I was affraid would start the minute the focus shifted from the 99% of victims to the 1% of looters. I knew people would begin to fear them. I
have tried not to get swept up in my outrage at how they have been portrayed as a whole but it kills me to hear more fear than sorrow. Can you try to understand that. What I saw was babies and partents dying and I cant forget it. We all go to sleep knowing that mothers have lost children. I'm a mother. I could not live without my children. That is what plays out in my mind. I'm heartbroken. I can't do enough for them to erase it.

9/11 now this. I'm scared for us. We are all traumatized as we can be, but especially them and with feelings this strong I just pray we can hold it together. We are scared and lashing out when we need to hold onto each other for dear life
no more anger. God help us.

No need to apologize. I know your concern all too well. I know your love for the city all too well. We share that. That's why I do my best to keep people positive around here. I know times like this are tense, but after all is said and done:

United we stand, divided we fall.

P.S. My best friend's wife went to Dillard. I understand the school took some serious damage. But knowing the strength of that institution, I believe it will back and better than ever in no time.
