We are from Picayune MS and our area was hit pretty hard by the storm. Not alot of flooding but a lot of wind damage - We went to Texas before the storm hit and returned to Picayune to check our house late monday evening. The area was lost most all the power lines , no phone and no water. Water service was restored inthe city of Picayune but many outlying areas still have no water. Ceasar Road is pretty bad - Many many trees and powerlines are down. Our house was still standing with some damage but will be livable while we repair - The area will be without power for 4 - 8 weeks. There is no word on when the school will be up and running but if I find that out I will post. We stayed there for 3 days before deciding to go to Iowa to stay with family for a couple weeks to get the kids out of the area for a bit. MY SIL in Kiln MS house is still standing however they had 5 feet of flood water in their home. Our BIL that lives in Pearl River LA - still has a house but no power there as well and it may be awhile. IF anyone else has any Picayune info please post and I will post more as I find out info. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those that lost everything!!
