I don't recall how many of our scrapping friends here are from the South Coast -
I haven't done a swap in a while so I haven't noted any mailing addy's

How is everyone??
Anyone need anything??

Sweet Maxine is in Mississippi, but farther north. She said they had some downed limbs, but were okay. She called here yesterday, but I missed her call. She said that their Internet is out - and may be for some time....something about a cable in Atlanta.

I hope everyone else is okay!

 Thanks - I took care of it. I haven't been on much this week & hadn't been deleting old messages. (Bad habit! LOL)

Patty,

Can you let Vicki know I got her swap stuff. I had a pm from her on 8/31. But, now that she doesn't have electricity, I want her to know that it made it! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Actually, I just got off the phone with her. They have electricity - it's the Internet they don't have, but the cell service was totally messed up this morning. She called 4 times before she could keep the connection! It was weird.

Just a little update - they could use some prayers & pixie dust I think. She said that they have many of those displaced by the storm in her town. There's been trouble in Jackson with looters & shootings etc. So the trouble is not limited to the stricken towns/cities - it's moving with the refugees. They're just so deperate!

I am in Lafayette, LA. We didn't get any weather or anything from the hurricane, but the aftermath is a different story. We are about 180 miles west of New Orleans with LOTS of family there. We have had contact with everyone except one family that lives in Diamondhead, MS. My husbands grandparents, aunt and sister live in St. Bernard parish (the Chalmette) area and they have pretty much lost everything. They are here with us safe and sound, but have nothing to go home to. It is all sad. I have cried so much the last few days, I don't think I have any tears left.

We have thousands of refugees here in town and have been having some security issues. Seems that all of the looters aren't in New Orleans. There have been many break-ins and at least one bank robbery here in town in the last couple of days.
