What happened to the prisoners that were put on the highway ramp? I saw that they had to evacuate them the other day and the c.o.'s were guarding them, but I didn't see what happened after that.
Anyone know what happened to them? Where are they sleeping? Eating??

A couple of days ago I heard that there was an uprising and they took hostages, but that's all I heard and have heard nothing else. I wonder if that was incorrect.

THIS IS HOW RUMOURS START! STOP IT!!!
The prisoners were evacuated using National Guard vehicles to a military base where they are secure, guarded, and being given basic human nessecities.
And DO NOT start a debate about how the prisoners are being treated better than the free citizens. Considering the circumstances, it was absolutely the LOGICAL thing to do.

Good point. There is enough actual bad news to go around with this situation -- no need to make more.

I wasn't trying to start rumors. I was honestly curious as to what happened to them after I saw them standing on the highway ramp on the news...

She asked a simple question.. Your response - if aimed at her - was uncalled for.. EVERYONE is tense, angry, frustrated, feeling hopeless, but if people don't ASK, then how will they know?

According to our newspaper in SW Louisiana, the prisoners have been brought to various facilities in this part of the state. There were several places listed. I'm assuming these are the same prisoners who were shown on the news reports.

I live between Baton Rouge and New Orleans and our FBI and Attorney General have been on TV today speaking about the prisoner issue. The prisoners have been secured at an undisclosed location and order has been restored.
If you have been watching national news, you are hearing and seeing things that are rumors and are unsubstantiated. Most of the sensationalism that is being presented on these networks is mostly not true. Although there are a few criminals taking advantage of the horrible situation, the residents of Louisiana are good people and everyone is working tirelessly to help in this devastating situation. I wish the national networks would highlight these people and the good that is happening. National stations have reported that in Baton Rouge there was looting and shots being fired and people being carjacked in our area. Those things were absolutely not true. Things are difficult in our area, but rest assured things are going as well as can be expected.

My original response was aimed more at MARYPOPPINSFREAK's responses than the OP's questions. I'm sorry, I should have been clearer.

This is what I heard as well.
Duck lite, chill out, that's the 2nd post from you in a row that I have read where your response was quite inappropriately attacking the OP. It was a legitimate question, no one was trying to start rumors. Geesh!!

I trust the prisoners were leg shackled at all times they were outside prison gates.
