Can't stay online for long, but my whole family got out of New Orleans - some of us to Northern MS, most to TX, we're in Orlando, but it just doesn't have the same fun factor right now. I just saw video of my neighborhood, completely underwater. I live in the Lakeview area, right near the 17st Street canal that broke. A friend of a friend stayed and took a boat down my street, couldn't see the tops of the houses. Bodies were floating. It's just sickening. But ya know, we're all safe and stuff is stuff. I look at my DH and our baby daughter and know that I am so blessed. Thanks my friends for all of your prayers. I will answer PMs when I get more time.

Thanks again for your well wishes. I'll be in Orlando for a week or so, then where next - who knows? Most of my family lives in the city. We are hoping that relatives in MS fared well enough to house us. We'll see. DH doesn't know the status of his company, so we're not sure if he'll work elsewhere for now.
If anyone in Orlando could PM me, I'd appreciate it. I'm looking for information on veterinarians and pediatricians in the area. Since I'm not familiar with anything here, I'm using the Yellow Pages, but maybe a local could give me some recommendations. Thanks! --Tara

lulu71 - I know I've already told you this, but thank God your family made it out. If your family needs ANYTHING please let me know. I know furniture is probably your last thought right now, but I have a crib and changing table (like new!) you could have. I also have lots of baby girl clothes. Just let me know if you need it and I'll get it to you.

I am very relieved that you, your dh, and baby Mia are okay! I'll keep all of you in my prayers. I am sooo sorry about your neighborhood! But I am very glad you are safe!
If you need baby girl things PM me an address where I can send you some and also what size Mia is in. I don't want to send any clothes she may have outgrown. I have some 0-3 months and a few 3-6 months I could send. I also have a few size 1 and size 2 diapers. It's not much I know, but it'll help some.
ETA: I meant to say earlier that I know you don't know where you will be at this point yet but as soon as you do PM me and I will be glad to send you what I can! Oh, and I live in northeast MS so if you end up this way (near Tupelo or the surrounding areas) I would be glad to meet you somewhere and hand deliver some things to you! Otherwise, I will gladly ship it!

We are in Louisiana west of the city. I don't know how to PM. Never felt the need before. If you need any info about the area let me know. Do you know where all relatives are? I know the phones here have been really bad.

Thanks guys. We're fine and have a ton of our stuff with us, thank God. We're not sure where will be after next week because DH is flying to Houston to meet with his company to decide where they will set up temporary operations until they can decide what to do with their N.O. property, which was destroyed. Could be here in Fla., (I hope) or somewhere on the east coast. That will all be decided next week. It's kind of weird to sit back and wait to hear where you'll call home for the next year or two.
I am so very touched by all of your concern and offers. Since we are OK with stuff, I would so much rather see someone have it that can use it more than we can. There are people here in Orlando from what we've heard who are stranded with no means whatsover. It's just so sad.

To PM someone all you do is click on their username from their post & you will see something that says "PM this user" or something like that. Just send a private message to them that way.
Hope that helps!

So sorry for your loss. My aunt lives in Lakeview area also and she fears it is all gone. However, her family is safe and sound and that is all that matters.
Please let me know if I can help.

I am very glad to hear that you and your family are going to be okay! Sounds like you have a very optimistic outlook and I know you will survive this tragedy! I am especially glad Mia is okay! Kylie is only a few weeks older than her (I remember when you let us all know she had arrived on the moms-to-be thread) and I could not even imagine how scary it would be having your child without anything. I am glad you managed to save a lot of your things. I will definitely be helping others that need it too. But if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask!
