Wan't it fantastic that MDA raised over $56 million for research this year. MDA along with Jerry Lewis is a fantastic organization. So many people along with myself have benefited from this organization. Thanks to all who donated.

I thought it was wonderful how the firefighters came in with the big donation. I've worked some of the MDA telethons and they're hectic fun...:)

It is pretty amazing when you think about how much has been raised over the years. It started pretty small and has really gotten huge!

My nephew was on the local station today for the Jerry Lewis telethon. He was diagnosed this year with ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He is 34 and has 3 little ones. I just want to than Jerry and his organization and all the wonderful people who give and support it. I never dreamed our family would be needing them. Thank You!

I just noticed this is a VERY old thread that got revived.

The telethon for this year isn't quite over yet.

It's SO easy to do when they pop up on the bottom of the page looking like they are a nice new thread.

I started reading it and thought it was a new thread until I got down to the point of seeing I had already posted on it (in 2001).

The final result (for 2006) was $61 million (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/tv/1401AP_Jerry_Lewis_Telethon.html).
