And about MTV... it is pretty stupid that they have so little music, and it's called music television. The only shows I really watch all the time are TRL, Making the Video, and Diary. Some of the other stuff on there is okay, but I mean, what do shows like Spyder Games and Tough Enough have to do w/ music?:confused:

I love MTV and CANNOT WAIT for the VMAs... lol! I"m so excited! I can't wait to see all the perfomances too! Especially *NSYNC's.. hehe :) they're up for 3 awards this year: Best Choerography, Best Pop Video, and Best Group Video (I think) (lol don't ask how i know that!!). I really want to see Britney's Spears' performance too.. she was supposed to have -live- tigers but they can't now b/c the tigers would get frightened by the audience...

Well, I didn't watch the VMA's but they must have sucked. Backstreet Boys were only nominated for 1 or 2 awards. I went to their concert last night and AJ told us during the middle of the concert that they found out they didn't win:( They usually have stupid people win for most of the awards anyway. I also heard that Britney lip synched and was really bad.

But I'll probably watch it anyway, just to see who won.

MikceyMoose--welll obviously u dont watch MTV..they have videos on from 4:30-6 and tonight they are on from 7-11....I dunon but I do THINK that involves playing videos and they play videos all night...i like MTFV so much better since they started playing more videos

i loved the VMAS last night...ibut also you gotta remember its for best video..so if Nsync has the best video(which most of the time they do...i dont see any other videos with the guys switching clothes while dancing but anyways)then they are gonna win.

Ok now i'm sure that ALL of you are brainwashed! I dont dislike Mtv b/c they have too many or too few videos I dislike it b/c of the musical conntent. All they have are these pop groups(who dont write their own music), Rappers(who steal more talented musicians music), and these pop/punk bands(that give real punk a BAD name). I'm just blown away when I see that some of you use names like sum 41, backstreet boys and limp bizket in one sentence....I mean youre not even the Mtv generation youre the TRL generation. You'll sucumb and listen to what ever they feed you! I'm sure many of you are Metallica fans but you would only know that one song that made it onto TRL............see a great band like Metallica and the ppl listening to Nstink and others of that sort are soiling Metallicas good name by mentioniing them in the same sentence as Britiny Spears! Get out there! Be your own person.............dont eat all the BS Mtv is spoon feeding you! If you truely like the music youre listening to then fine.......but I can tell for the most part almost all of you have been oficially brainwashed by Mtv and theres probably nothing I can do now. I cant help but think what other poor souls Mtv will steal in the years to come :(

BTW this is just my opinion........this isnt intended to offend anyone! I have very strong opinions when it comes to music. So dont take it to heart........unless you see the light and agree :)

I totally agree w/that! I'm sure that most of the people who say they like sum 41 haven't heard any of the songs on the first album they put out. Now that was good stuff! (Most Americans probably haven't though... I heard of them like 3 years ago when they were unknowns in Toronto). I like Fat Lip just as much as the rest of you, but it has become extremely overplayed... I also don't just like that one song... Makes No Difference is also another good one, and there are many more. I'm not trying to start a fight here or offend anyone by saying you can't like them b/c you only like one song.... Bands like Blink 182 are victims of this whole MTV thing (that I don't have the "pleasure" of witnessing b/c I live in Canada)... they were a good punk rock band until "All the Small Things" came out... then it went downhill from there... I like their style of music still, but they've basically become sell-outs. Same goes w/Limp Bizkit...

Oh so let me get this right......you would like me to post a topic on why i hate Mtv?! It's more on topic in this thread than it would be in any forum. You want me to stay on topic.....alright.....VMA's suck. They hand out awards to "artists" who have no talent, dont write there own music and are totally manufactured while the bands that deserve credit are out on tour working there butts off to give their fans a good show.....and theyre not doing it for fame, money or a VMA theyre doing it for the fans and for their love of music. I hope that was on topic enough!

I can tell you're trying to side with me moose, Aerosmith and U2 may have been good bands in the past but Mtv gas turned them into POP stars. POP is mainstream and for the most part sell out or talentless bands and/or groups. Aerosmith is washed up and fits right into that category.....they should have quit while they were ahead. U2 has managed to come up with some increddible music and they are an extremely talented band but they have been mainstream since the early days. They do a good job of keeping their music meaningful though there for I respect them but none the less they are in that category you all know and love: POP!
