Arrived back in Gatwick this morning after 3 glorious weeks in Florida - the weather was very hot!, the food very good and the parks the best yet. We rode Soarin 5 times (its the best you must give it a try either get their early or fast pass it), did the luau at polynesian, had breakfast at Cape May and best of we were chosen as the family of the day at Epcot - Wow we were really spoilt. I am going to try and do a trip report (my first ever) now I just want a cup of tea and my bed!!

Welcome back, snookhams. Sounds like you had a really good trip. What does it mean to be the family of the day at Epcot? (Sorry if that is a dumb question!!)

Look forward to the trip report when you've caught up on sleep!

Thanks I will have to start on the trip report once I have caught up on my sleep.

Arieljasmine - the family of the day at each park are the family that are chosen to open the park - we were driven around in a test track car in front of space ship earth and in front of the Character bus and then after the opening ceremony we were the family of the day are the first to ride Test Track and Mission Space that day, along with other front of line passes we got a pass for 4 free ice creams and had a view of the fireworks that night from a roped off area where only invited guests could stand

Welcome back - know how you feel since we got back in yesterday.

Sounds like you had a great time, too. However, I'm very envious that you rode Soarin 5 times. There was a 2 hour queue the day we went to Epcot and all the fast passes were gone for the day :sad2: :sad2:

decided that whilst the children are still asleep that I would now catch up a little on the Dis - I have really missed it - especially the quizes which I have really got into.

We were just chosen at random for the 'family of the day', we arrived early at Epcot about 8.30 ish for a 9.00 am opening and as we already had tickets joined the queue at the turnstile and had been stood there about a minute, when a cast member asked me how many in my party - i replied and he then asked if we would like to be 'family of the day' - it was as easy as that!!

We managed to ride soarrin 5 times - twice on the day we were family of the day - we were given a front of row pass for soarrin and a front of row pass for any other ride at Epcot that we wanted to do - so we rode soarrin twice that day, and I guess we were lucky on the other days - we always arrived early at the parks so got Fast passes - we even went on Thursday (the day we flew home) arrived a bit later as we had had breakfast at the Beach Club resort and then checked in at DTD and got to Epcot about 9.30 went straight and got a fast pass. If you have never been on this ride - do it and do it early in the day - our 9 yr old DS who is not into rides at all loved it and can't wait to take his Nanna and Grandad on it next year!!

We had a real move about holiday this year - as some of you will know DS was swimming at the Nationals in Sheffield so had to change holiday about after booking so couldn't stay at the same villa - we were dreading all the moves but it went really smoothly and we actually enjoyed the different places we stayed, we had 2 nights at the Bueana Vista Suites - this was a great hotel and we would recommend the 2 room suites highly, included a buffet breakfast which was of excellent quality, 1 week at the villa we stayed in last year, 1 week a a villa a few doors away, and the last 5 days at the Caribbean Beach resort - our first time on site and hopefully not our last - we loved it, the boys did not know we were staying here they thought we were going back to the Bueana Vista suites - they were so surprised and they loved it.

We thought the extra magic hours in the mornings were great - the parks weren't all that buisy then but the extra hours at Magic Kingdom on Wednesday night was really packed, we stayed for the fireworks and we got to see Tinkerbell fly (our first time) and then the queues for the rides were really long , infact I have never seen the queue for Space mountain so far out into the park before - we did not even stop to check how long it actually was!!!
