Our family of 5 stayed in a family suite last February. Overall we were happy with our stay. Let me know what you are interested in and I will be glad to try and answer.

Thanks,

Just wondering how close is it to DTD, can you walk? Is it clean? Free breakfast?

I went and stayed with my marching band..and no, I don't think the breakfast was free. It's been a few years and things were paid for by my band- but I don't think it was free anyway.

The rooms were really clean though and the property was very well taken care of and very pretty.

-Oh, no- I wouldn't walk to Downtown Disney. It's really not that far to the actual Disney World gates but the walk, especially at the end of the day, would be a really big pain. (It's probably not the safest idea in the world either.) The buses would be able to get you to the parks in max. 15 minutes.

I was there in Feb 2004. continental breakfast was free but many people paid the extra $4 and upgraded to the hot breakfast which had bacon, eggs etc. You could walk to DTD but it would take about a half hour. The drive is literally 3 minutes. It is a great location in terms of restaurants and shopping but I would really suggest a car rental. Be aware that the resort is a good basic 3 star and nothing more. It is excellent for a budget property but do not expect up to date furnishings etc. The pool however, was extremely warm and great!

We have stayed there twice. We stayed the night before our stay began at WDW. It is a great location. They do have shuttles to the parks, but I would say you might want to consider a rental if you won't have your own car. It is close to DTD but unless you are avid walkers I wouldn't suggest it. The continetal buffet is free, but not the best. There is a McDonalds close by though. All the rooms have a fridge and micro so you could buy stuff at the grocery store next door and have breakfast in your room. There is a security guard there and the pools seem nice. The rooms have always been nice and clean. Good luck deciding. It really was a great location.

I have stayed there 3 times and loved it for the location and the price however, my last stay was over 5 years ago. We did consider staying there in 2004 but we got a great rate at POP Century so, we stayed onsite. It is a really great close location if you are staying outside the parks. We loved being close to DTD, not too far of a ride to the parks and LOVED being close to all the stores & restaurants - saved us a ton of money not eating inside the parks.

The continental breakfast is free and you can have a full, hot breakfast buffet for just a little more. We did both during our stay for variety's sake. It is just a little too far to walk to DTD. Driving time is less than 5 minutes though. You can be to any of the parks in a short amount of time. Do rent a car. We found that our room was clean and we had no problems or issues of any kind.

Michelle,

We just got back from our first trip to Florida and we stayed at Comfort Inn on Palm Parkway. For the money ($49/night) we couldn't beat it anywhere! We had two ground floor rooms and no problems. The bathroom is VERY tiny but the room was just fine.

They offer a free continental breakfast (muffins, cold cereal, toast, bagels, juice, milk, etc...) or you can upgrade to the full American breakfast buffet for a fee of $5.95 pp. FYI, if you get the full American buffet, they include a tip on your bill. I made the mistake of leaving cash on the table and then going to the register and realized it. Oh well, not the end of the world.

I'd be happy to answer any questions that you have- I saved all of my papers (including shuttle schedules) and restaurant info if you're interested.

Melissa

P.S. There are two outdoor pools. One on each end of the complex. Both very nice and clean.

Does anyone know, do they charge additional surcharges for anything?

Thanks for all of the feedback. It sounds like just what I am looking for in a short trip to the world...

Hi Michele

My family has stayed here quite a few times - it's nice for a budget hotel. If you are sensitive to sound while sleeping - ask for a parking lot side room - the rooms on the I-4 side can get loud with traffic noise. The breakfast buffet is good - make your own Mickey waffles, eggs, french toast sticks etc.. but stay away from the dinner buffet - yuk. I had to stay here twice last year due to 2 hurricanes and it was the only place to go to for dinner - never again! Enjoy your trip.

I think describing this hotel as a three star really pushes it... It has outside corridors etc. closer to two star.

I stayed there a few years ago and dealt with the RUDEST front desk staff ever. (Not to mention they were also clueless) I would consider it again, but I would pay very little.

Stayed there in Dec. of '03 with my family and thought it was a really good deal. They had a special on their website for $29.99 a night including the continental breakfast. The rooms were on the basic side, but they were very clean and the grounds were attractive and kept up well. Didn't try the hot buffet for breakfast since we are not big breakfast eaters, but the continental was pretty good. Would definitely stay there again.
