Sure, I just used it yesterday thanks to someone else on these boards! Be sure to put your Kohls charge info in first or it won't take the code. Took me a few tries to figure that out.

The codes are meant for the person they are sent to. They are not supposed to be shared. Sorry, I work in retail and take this kind of theft personally. :badpc:

Really? Why not create a unique code then if it was only meant for the person they sent it to?

Is this a trick question, like if Disney didn't want me to reuse my mug why don't they make it harder for me to do so? Perhaps because they hope people will be honest and not take what does not rightfully belong to them? I guess it is just another example of do what you a comfortable with, but at least know what is right and what is wrong.

Ahhh, so all those "code" sites out there (www.currentcodes.com, www.slickdeals.net, www.funtasia.net, www.fatwallet.com, etc. etc. etc.) are all ran by a bunch of dishonest cheaters then right? :flower:

Yep. Maybe it is not illegal, but it is not ethical. Even the first site you listed said they are secret codes not for everyone.

Then I guess we'll agree to disagree. If a company wants a coupon code to only be used by the person they sent it to, it should be a "unique" code like with the WDW postcard rates.

That's fine. I know I'm really touchy on this subject. :p But is seems that in general people are not happy unless they get the biggest discount humanly possible. Mine was only 15% so I chucked it! But that was my choice, not to go hunt down someone who had a better one.

I feel the exact same way, if a company wants it to be used only on the person they sent it to then it should be a unique code, just as disney does with their post card offers, As far as people sharing codes with others, I do not see this as stealing how can i steal something i am paying for but just got a better price for. This is 2005 if you are going to rely on people being legitt and saying oh i wont use that code because it was used by someone else, pleaseeeee that will never happen you can take the most honest person in the world and they will use it if given to them, because it is not stealing. I also work in Retail and that is not theft.
In fact it boosts companys sales because i may not have been interested in buying something until i got an offer to get money off, so now i have decided to buy somthing where i can get 30% off, so that company just made money on me. Works both ways, it is also good for the retailer, It works great for us in our retail store.

Agreed 100%. And just to mention, I didn't get my Kohls flyer, so I called the 800 number and the CS agent told me to use the kohls30 code. :cool1:

I'm sorry! I guess I didn't really think that I was "stealing it." It just seemed so readily available (in more than one place) that I thought it was just common knowledge! Lesson learned!

You'd actually think that the discount code that you were sent would somehow be attached to your account when you used your card. Know what I mean? Say they had mailed me 15%, and I had tried to use the 30%, you'd think that it would catch it somehow and decline it.

We went to Kohls yesterday and used the 20% code we got in our flyer, but I told my husband on the way home that I could have probably gone to Walmart and bought the same stuff cheaper, even though it was all on sale as well. I haven't worked in retail in years, but it seems that many of the chains mark stuff up to the point that nobody will buy it without deep discounts.

I think most stores will be tickled to see customers, even if they have to give them a discount to get them in the door. They're probably still making more profit on them than if they had gone down the street to another store.

JMHO.

:rotfl: I'm sorry, but I found this statement hilarious. Why on earth would you take this "personally"? :confused3

Thanks for posting all of these sites. I have used two of them before but it's always nice to browse a few more.

puleeeeeezzzzzz....... tell me you aren't serious
okay I was in the gap a week ago and the woman in front of me had a friends and family card (30% off reg or sale!) and literally turned around after using it herself and handed it to me....... and winked ;) ~ sooooooo cool!! First of all the employee could give a rats *** and second - You're saying I should tell the woman "oh... my stars... that is just "wrong" and I refuse to take part in that kind of trickery..... take your coupon (that saved me almost sixty dollars btw  ) and give it to some other dishonest pawn... yeah right!!! Get real :rotfl:

OK, I went to Kohl's Saturday (post from another Diser looking for the Lime Green luggage...got it BTW) and heard about the promotion.

Since I do not have a Kohl's charge (nor want one) I asked the salesperson if I could get some kind of discount. The CLERK gave me a 20% off coupon to use on my luggage!

She told me that if she had a 30% off coupon she would have given it to me, but didn't.

Sorry, but I am not a thief, and do not believe in any way shape or form that finding discounts (or asking for codes) is theft.

OMG! Tell me she is not serious.

First of all the code is posted on a flyer that everyone that touches it can see.

Second of all I don't even have a Kohl's in my area. But with a coupon I will go online and buy something that I probably wouldn't buy to begin with.

How in the world we stealing. I am paying for my purchase and Kohl's is still making a profit.

I went to Kohl's with my coupon code I received on my flyer and when I went to check out with it, the cashier asked if I would like to try again and gave me a scratch off one which was the same % as I originally had so I don't see by sharing this code with the board it's considered "theft". :confused3

Ok, I swore I wouldn't come back here to be bashed again, but here I am. Bash away. First, I know it is not my money and I should not be offended by people passing around a code, but I am. Why? Because nothing seems to satisfy some people. Most of the items are already on sale, the least you can get off is an additional 15%. Why is that not good enought? People were either mailed a coupon or received one in the store. Why not accept what you get as the luck of the draw? Not everyone can get 30%. Have you ever been in a store on senior citizen day? You should see all the people draging grandma around, just to use their discount. And guess what? Kohls does not let people use other % off coupons on senior citizen day anymore. They were losing too much money! So just think about it. :rolleyes1

Leaving now. Enjoy yourselves.

First of all, thanks for being brave to re-post :) I will try not to "bash" or flame you. Here is my point of view. First of all, in our state of Colorado, inflation has risen 37% over the last 3 years, while annual salaries have only risen an average of 7%. Secondly, my husband is self employed. When the economy is down, we are down...when it's up, we're up. In our family, the only way we can afford "luxuries" like vacations to Disney or other things, is by the money I save our family over the year. With that said, here is my reply.

"Most of the items are already on sale, the least you can get off is an additional 15%. Why is that not good enough?"

Why couldn't Kohl's send out everyone a 20% coupon and call it even? Do they not make enough money to send out this coupon to it's best customers to "thank them" for being shoppers or just entice them to come in?

I will tell you, I do not shop at Kohl's because I HATE their pricing and sales! All of their prices are priced high so that they can mark things 50% of every other week. They take advantage of their customers on a daily basis, trying to squeeze every penny out of the consumer. Customers deserve a chance to get a "real deal" at Kohl's once in a blue moon.

As for "dragging grandma around" I don't see it that way either. My mother loves to shop as much as I do. On the couple of occasions "we shopped together" I got to use her discount. I did not "drag her around" though I'm sure it does happen.

In any event, to each their own, but I save money wherever and whenever I can and 30% off clearance items is a substantial savings (even at Kohl's) and I cheer for everyone who got a deal out of Kohl's :cheer2: it's not easy to do.

Thanks for taking the time to be brave, please everyone state your opinions but try not to "bash" others for theirs...hope I didn't :flower:

I agree about the pricing. Kohl's regular prices are laughable. 50% off sales are just getting the prices in the normal range. I only buy when they have 70% off clearance.

I too think Kohls uses the marked up price to then bring it down.....therefore, I don't buy there unless it's deeply discounted. If they can use that kind of "trickery" then I can resort to "stealing" a code.

All other stores in our area don't usually offer enough of a discount that's worth messing with - unless it's automatic.

GRRRRRRRRRRR I am so mad at myself! I did a bunch of shopping online..saved my cart...went today to buy & the code expired!!!!!!!! I should have just went to the store with the kids instead of trying to take the easy way out...now all I have is a measly 10% code. It's my own fault..but geesh
