Hi everyone! Finally got on the wireless. It works pretty well. Even on deck 6 in our stateroom we got a low signal strength. Says excellent up here by Quiet Cove. Very hard to take pictures today. Everyone was hugging me! We got a blanket for our CC gift, plus some fruit from Dreams Unlimited (Thanks!!!!). We have met so many DISers, but it's surprising how many more we have yet to meet! We know it's gonna be a lot of fun!! I'll take lots of pictures at the sailaway and upload them shortly. Rachel is telling us about the safety drill now, so I should get running. Will post again soon!!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. We're having a great time so far and from the looks of it, it will be a great cruise!!!

We just returned to our cabin after having dinner at Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney with family and some fellow DIS'ers that are going to be our tablemates in August 2006. I kept looking at my watch during dinner tonight thinking what you all were doing on the ship. At 8:00pm, I said to myself, they should be geeting ready to sail away. I told you I was with you in spirit!!!

Have a great trip!!! I had a call this afternoon from one of the cruisers, and they had just eaten lunch and were getting settled in their stateroom. They had a list of pins that they could purchase (1 per person) and she was very excited to begin the cruise.

Is the wireless what you brought with you or did they FIANALLY get the wireless working on the ship? I was able to get a signal on occassion on my laptop-but could never really connect.

i'm here in the promenade on the $0.35/minute wireless (the 300 minutes for $105 package). i ran a speed test on the connection and am getting a little under 1.5mbps or around 170KBps. not bad.

Hi everyone. Today is our first beautiful day at sea! We are getting ready for Palo brunch this morning and then a DIS meet in Rockin’ Bar D. They even have the meet on the Navigator. We’re eating dinner with Mom2Belle&PeterPan and DenverVal. The linked late diners are seated in tables starting right next to us. We skipped the welcome aboard show. We were just so tired yesterday. I’m typing this in advance of going online and seeing what everyone is saying because of the time involved with typing. Don’t want to use up my package too quick.

Movies for the first week are Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, Ice Princess, Snow White, The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Pacified, Peter Pan, Monster in Law, National Treasure, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, A Lot Like Love, Finding Nemo, Guess Who, Dark Water, Herbie Fully Loaded, Racing Stripes, Sky High and Fever Pitch.

Today we also have the Cabin Tour. We’ll be looking at all but Cat 2.

For Entertainment, we have been told we will have Art Imitating Art and Acrobatic Adventure, the Magic and Illusion of Mike Super, The Golden Mickeys, Los Caporales Festival Folklorico, Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer (with Joey Fatone), Ken Block, Dangerous Comedy of Wilde & Haines, Movie Night, Twice Charmed, Mark Curry with Kermit the Frog and Friends, Disney Dreams and Remember the Magic. There will be a Murder Mystery, Mexicali-frajelistic deck party, Pirates IN the Caribbean.

We are only allowed one reservation at Palo for each type of meal and they are cross referencing all cabin numbers. So if you are a guest of someones, you won’t be able to go on your own.

I didn’t get great pictures yesterday, so I'm not wasting time to post them now. The others posted were better.

As for the wireless, we have our own laptop. Today we could not get access in our room, probably was reflection off the terminal yesterday. I just went down to deck 5 in the atrium today. Not a problem with the speed at all.

How many kids are aboard and are they mostly preschoolers? I know most schools are back . We are still out but my kids keep seeing on the weather channel how many states are back? We go back Sept 12, this would have been perfect for us, but husband afraid of length of cruise. I would have loved it :love:

How many kids are aboard and are they mostly preschoolers? I know most schools are back . We are still out but my kids keep seeing on the weather channel how many states are back? We go back Sept 12, this would have been perfect for us, but husband afraid of length of cruise. I would have loved it :love:

Met two very nice families who sailed on the first Mexico cruise after we delivered the Magic to Southern CA and had a wonderful time swapping stories waiting for the Magic to cast off!!! Did anyone else see the cool GOOD LUCK Rainbow Cast in front of the ship by the fire boat?


The Magic was so beautiful and majestic as she sailed by!!!

I tried to get images of Mickey waving goodbye to us, but they did not come out.

Thanks to the LAFD for leading the Magic out to Sea!!

We just left the ship and our MOST MAGICal awesome vacation ever ~ a little over 24 hours ago - and i'm sad it's over but wishing all of you a most incredible cruise....whoever is in our room 7014 or near by will LOVE Don, and if you are fortunate enough to get Shantol as your asst server - you will LOVE her as well....i miss all of them (our server is on his vacation), so you won't have him, but Shantol and Alen are still on board and are terrific!!!! Bringing the Magic Home - Hope you all have an enjoyable cruise, we were just on the 7/30 Magic cruise and met the most awesome people on these boards. We hope you have as great a time as we did. We spent the week together and our planning to sail together again in 2007. Also, rumors when we were onboard were of a Mediterranean cruise in 2007 (or maybe Alaska), please keep us posted if anyone hears anything. Hi everyone. What happened to my camera? I still haven’t taken many pictures LOL. We had a very busy day today. Brunch in the morning, straight from brunch to the DISmeet, straight from there to the cabin tour. We got to see the Walt Suite, cat 2-11, including a sideways cabin, secret porthole room and a handicapped room. The seas have not been too bad at all. Hurricane Hilary is going to miss us, but we might have some adverse weather in Cabo. We are missing the show because we were up talking at the pool too much. Everywhere you go you know someone! It’s so much fun!

As for the pins, we have an order sheet in our room. We can order one set per guest.

Still haven’t met all the DISers. We will meet many more at the wine tasting on Tuesday. How come my room has been deemed the party room? I guess we’re having a party here one night. Our cabin steward is Donovan. He is the best! I can’t remember who our waitstaff is (too tired last night!). But we did have Sasha from Croatia at Palo this morning. I told him I heard he was the Croatian Sensation. He blushed!

One of these days I’ll take pictures, ok :)

Was that banner hanging from Deck 9 or 10 a Dis Board Banner?, I did not notice it as the ship sailed by our vantage point!!

As you all may have heard the Magic has been rerouted to Manzanillo due to 15 ft waves in Cabo. Our captiain decided that with the tendering it would be too dangerous to stop. Therefore we are on another sea day and will hit Manzanillo Tuesday where we get to dock (Yeah!). Captian Tom has assured us that as we proceed further south we will smaller and smaller waves/swells. Anyway, just wanted to write since I hadn't seen anything yet. Quite possible might be something on another thread but haven't heard of any injuries although the ship was rocking and rolling from the night before. For those of you back there, maybe this will make you feel better about being on land. Right now although the swells are getting better, my stomach wishes it was back on land.

ALso, have taken lots of pixs but haven't been able to download with our laptop. If anyone has seen pixs please pm me and let me know who's doing it. Would love to learn how they did it. Wasn't sure if it was us or the system. Others seem to be having the same problem. Gotta go the line for the computers is getting long again.

Was that banner hanging from Deck 9 or 10 a Dis Board Banner?, I did not notice it as the ship sailed by our vantage point!!

The yellow banner is indeed a DIS banner, and there were DISers around it, too. We could barely read it from our vantage point (next to the Acapulco Restaurant), and then as soon as the ship passed us, we jumped in the car & took Pacific St. all the way to the end to the overlook they have there. :sunny:

Will you still be able to do excursions through DCL or is everyone on their own? My DH has been to Manzanillo and he says it is absolutely beautiful. I am sure you will have a great time no matter what you do. Keep us posted!

It's on the Video....The "time Lapse" feature need to be unlocked and it cost $$$. It was the only way I could show how the cruise ship did a 120 degree turn without it taking 5 mins to show it.

With the video, try right clicking on it and saving it to your desktop and open it there. That's what I did. Then whenever you want to see it you don't have to try to remember what page it was on, it's right there on your desktop.

To kinda try to keep this on topic, even though most of the cruisers must be having fun, and NOT using the internet.......Alvaro is a great pilot if you get him....but be sure to watch on deck 4 aft under the lifeboats for an "official" looking person, and its probably one of your pilots. Also to all those who took photos THANKS a million, as well. I am outside the Cove Cafe and it is still windy but getting better. They had barf bags in the Walt Disney theater when we went in this afternoon to hear about Manzanillo. Apparently there is only one cast member on the entire ship that has been to Mananillo so they asked for our patience as they couldn't answer all our questions. I was disappointed that we couldn't stop in Cabo but there are certainly worse places to be during a hurricane than the Magic. The sun peaked through a little around 4:00 PM and seas were at 17-20 feet 3 hours ago down from 30 this AM. They did a good job of last minute planning for us today and all in all I can't complain a bit. They are offering 5 excursions for tomorrow, one sold out quite quickly but I was amazed they could do what they did for a port no one has been to. Our wine tasting had to be moved and we even got personal invitations tonight. Poor Tracy having to rearrange all that. Went to the cruise sales pitch today and still no word on 2007 cruises but she said they were told they would definitely be announced in October. She mentioned the Mediterranean, Alaska and back to California but didn't commit to any. They are offering a $500 credit for the 10 night only next September which may be what they've been offering but I hadn't seen that anywhere. Thanks to all for the good wishes.

Wow! That's pretty good, they announced the 10 and 11 nights on my cruise on August 5th and they weren't offering $500 then! So that sounds pretty good!!!!

On the May repo cruise, the sailaway was delayed for up to an hour waiting for a white truck full of luggage that did arrive.

I'm sorry you missed Cabo but glad you are safe. I wonder if they will make a pin for Manzanillo and send it later.

Rachel just got back to the ship after being off all summer. I believe she got back on August 6th.

Entrance and exit of ships into the port. If you click on the link it is a detailed log of the ships that are entering and exiting Manzanillo as of 8:30 a.m. 8/23/05. If you click on the link it gives the time each ship has entered and the stats on the ship and then the time it leaves the port. I haven't found a live link though that shows the current ships in port, but I'll keep looking.

So Rachel...is she on the Magic for good now since she's back? We were on the Wonder back in '03, and she was our cruise director. We LOVED her! We were hoping that she would be on the Magic next month (9/17) for our Eastern! Sounds like chances are good! :cheer2:
