I just found R/T fare from Columbus,OH to Orlando Dec.7/11 for $136.98 including taxes/charges! This is awesome! :cool1: Even a $49 DING fare can't beat that. My best friend and I are going on a Moms only trip Dec. 7-11. We had been waiting for the DING fares to come out for this time, but we jumped on this! It was icing on the cake.

Great find. I'm hoping to go from the 7th through the 16th of December so I'll need to wait a little longer to get a good rate.

What exactly is "DING"? Also, if we already have our flights booked and paid for should we still be looking for cheaper rates through them? If prices go down will adjust the price?

Be sure to pay with Delta on CC as they are having bancruptcy problems.

I would also like to know what a "Ding" flight is...? Anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

DING fares are offered by Southwest. You have to sign up at southwest.com and then they will "ding" you with special fares. I just signed up yesterday and have already been "dinged" 3 times. I'm waiting for Feb. fares and right now they are still in Nov.

If a DING is a southwest thing, then why is the OP talking about Delta fares?

Like most of us the OP probably looks at all airlines to get the best deal. Southwest is one of the cheapest airlines and even a "DING" fare at $49 each way can't beat the Delta fare she got. The problem with "DING" fares is that you never know when they are coming and then when you get a "DING" fare that you could use, you have a very limited time to book. "DING" is great but I'm with the OP, if I can find another fare comparable I'm gonna book it.

They have not filed bancruptcy...yet. Even if they file it doesn't mean they are going out of business if that is what you were implying, it means they are reorganizing. This happens a lot. There are other airlines that are already in bancruptcy right now.

Thanks for posting this, I almost booked my airfares yesterday but didn't, and today I checked after reading your note and they are over $100 cheaper! :cool1:

*edit* :rotfl: I just saw that your note was posted over a week ago, silly me - I guess Lady Luck was on my side today! :wizard:

Delta has been offering some super fare deals lately. I just happened on the prices yesterday. I have that travel option on My Yahoo tracker and I track greensboro, dulles and Richmond. The flights out of Greensboro were non-stop round trip 129 bucks. As soon as I saw it was Delta, I went directly to the Delta site and got the same flight for $125. I'm so excited! We're flying with Delta to Disney for $140 non stop, round trip from Richmond in November and now again in February for $125. Really getting some mileage out of those APs we bought! :earsboy:
