I am leaving on tues and would like some information about upgrading to an ap.We are going to pop for 8 nights. We are on the free meal plan.I purchased 4-10day non hopper, with options and no expiration. We are also planning on going back to disney for about 8 nights next year and a 3 night disney cruise.
Her are my questions:
Should I upgrade and why?
If a crazy promo comes out next year are you entitled to this package?(example free food)
How many rooms/cabins can you book with 1ap?(can I book 2 rooms-1for us and 1 for sister and her family??)
What other discounts come with having a ap pass?
When I am looking for rates for the disney cruise for next year, I see that disney's rates are much higher than a outside agent. Will the ap rate only apply when booking with disney directly or can a other travel agent give me the ap discount?

Any information on this pass with be greatly appreciated. Sorry I have so many questions.
Thanks again!

Okay, here goes with what I can. You should talk to Disney, but I think you can upgrade to an AP, you'll have to do it at a park, or downtown disney - it can't be done at the hotel. I think you can also do it at the Disney store at the airport, if you'll be going through MCO.

I think you can still book up to 3 rooms with one AP, but I haven't checked under the new deal (see mousesavers.com for great info) The new deal supposedly has to be book online and at least 120 days out.
"Entitled" is a big word, and not one Disney likes to use. Technically, they say all offers can change at any time..but I think once you book at a certain rate you are guarenteed that rate.
If you want an AP discount, you kind of have to book it close to when the discount comes out...because usually only a certain number of rooms are available at that rate. It pays to stay on top of these things, especially if you want to go at a popular time. This site is great for info!!!!

For other discount info go to mousesavers.com...with an AP, you get like ten percent off certain meals at certain times (or for $50, you can get the dining card..it gives 20% discount - basically covering the tip -at the more expensive restaurants. not huge, but if you plan to dine at character meals, sit down meals with a group of people, it will quickly pay for itself. You need an ap to get this (You need the actual number on the pass), I think you can maybe get it at downtown disney? Also get a hold of the phone number to order this ahead of time. There was buzz about this on the boards when it first came out.
I don't know about cruises, but try a Disney specialist travel agent.

I would ask if you still get the free dining if you upgrade to an AP.

Oh, yeah, i missed that. I think there are limits with the free dining plan. You might ask if there is a way to change your ticket to an AP at the end of your stay though. WE were able to change used five days into ten day no exp. at a great rate (you must be within 14 day of original use to do this) Also, in that case, the dining discount card wouldn't help you for this trip anyhow.
