My husband called one of his friends in Japan - (they work for Toyota) and he didn't think that they would be compatible here. We have purchased electronics in Japan when my husband goes on trips there and you have to be careful because the writing and labels are all in Japanese.

I would guess they'll be available over here pretty soon. The Walt Disney Internet Group announced the creation of "Disney Mobile" on July 6, 2005 which will be the "first National U.S. wireless phone service specifically designed for families."

Also announced on July 6, 2005, Disney Mobile teamed up with Sprint to offer this national wireless service. Disney mobile will be using the Sprint Nationwide PCS network and is supposed to be launched sometime in 2006.

"Disney Mobile plans to offer a comprehensive mobile service, including wireless voice service, exclusive handsets and a package of features and applications tailored to meet the unique communication needs of families. The service will also include a range of entertainment content for the family."
