Room Discounts with AP?

When I called Loews to check on entertainment rates, the woman told me you can get a good on site room discount if you hold a universal AP. What kinds of discounts to these passes warrant at HRH and PBH? Do you need to have the AP to get the rate, or just have it by check in?

I got a garden view in Oct. on a weekend for $143.50 per night with the AP. You just need to have the pass by check-in.
