We are off to VB in a couple of months and was wondering if anyone had visited this year and what the damage was like.
We had to cancel VB last year as the second hurricane hit a couple of weeks earlier

We were at VB when they closed it for hurricane Frances, then on the very day they opened up again in March and I also managed a quick trip there in June - you could say I like it ;)
Happy to tell you that it's in great shape. Even the surrounding shrubs had filled out between March and June. Access to the beach area is now slightly different and the new pier, with plenty of seating, was opened in June. They had some scaffolding up to part of the front of the building doing final repairs to the roof in June but even though we had an ocean view inn room, it didn't affect the view at all, and I expect it'll be finished by now anyhow.
OT, thanks for the Virgin info. When I've collected enough for our next BA companion ticket with Amex, I might be tempted to get a Virgin card. :)

Is It Possible To Get Wheelchairs Down Either Near Or On The Beach At Vb.

:wave2: Hello again Ali
Yes it is possible to get a wheelchair down to the beach as the new pier has both steps (left side) and a gently sloping ramp (right side), plus, I've also seen one of those wheelchairs down there with big wheels for pushing on the sand, which I assume belongs to the resort.
