I have heard there is a boat that will go from MGM to the Boardwalk. Is that true? If so, how often do they run? Is there usually a long wait or a line to get a boat? Does it go straight to BW, or are there other stops? And, about how long does the ride take?

Thanks for any info on this. :)

There are boats that go from MGM to EPCOT. They stop at the Swan/Dolphin, the YC/BC and the BW before EPCOT. If I recall correctly, the ride takes about 45 minutes.

The longest waits/lines are usually after Fantasmic. The wait depends on the number of boats and the time of day - more seem to run during busier seasons and park opening/closing times. I do not recall ever waiting more than 10 -15 minutes, but we generally go in the off season, so our experience may not be typical. If we were in a hurry to get back to our hotel (BW), we walked. We could always beat the boat. The ride is quite nice though, especially at night.

The Friendship boats are vvvvveeeeerrrrryyyyyy sslllooooowwwww. If you have the time it is a nice ride. On our last trip (2 weeks ago) we walked from MGM to Boardwalk and I must say it was a very nice walk. We made the walk in the early evening when it was cool, I don't think it would be as nice mid day because there isn't much shade along the bright white sidewalk.

Sometimes after Fantasmic they will also run busses if the line is long. There is now a walking path from MGM to Boardwalk along the canal. I've heard the walk is about 15 minutes to the front of Boardwalk.
