Sheraton Vistana Resort through Interval?

Hi - we'll be hopefully staying at the Sheraton Vistana resort Oct. 23-30 through my inlaw's timeshare. I know the Fountains, Lakes or Cascades are the ideal locations. MY DFIL called Interval and they know nothing about the different sections :confused3 . How should I go about requesting these areas? Has anyone stayed through Interval and gotten assigned a particular section - not sure if the exchange companies have assigned sections?

We booked through my dad's RCI week and called the resort about one week ahead of our arrival. They were able to add our request to the file. We asked for Fountains and we got it. I have no idea though it that was a coincidence or not. :confused3

I have just booked a villa for this March at the Vistana through my Mothers time share with Intervale. I received our confirmation letter and under the address it showed (cascades and Lakes sections). I believe that those are the only 2 sections that they book with Intervale. I need to call the Vistana to make sure. They also assigned me a unit # that was in the Lakes section. I have been told that they do switch around the unit #'s sometimes. You need to sign up to the Diamond Lane check-in. I think that you can find a form on the Vistana website. (I have not done it yet) When you fill out the form you can make your requests and you will be in a faster line at check-in time. We have not had any exoeriences with any time share before. This is all info. that the experts on the dis gave me. I have 2 young kids too. Seems as though we are in the same boat. My DS is 5 and my DD is 4.

The Fountains also trade with II. II has two different resort IDs for this resort and I've never exactly figured out which is which. Apparently one is the Lakes and Cascades only. I'm not sure what other sections they get.

Thanks for your replies. I have another question for Interval people (I may make it a separate question). Does anyone know what the VIT, VI1, VIO & VO1 codes mean? These show up after the Sheraton Vistana Resort in the directory. Not sure if these codes have something to do with placement?
