We were married at the DLR and received a room upgrade at the Grand Californian Hotel to a parkview, 2 room corner suite. A very nice suprise.

We checked into the BWI after our FTW. As we were checking in, the manager came over to the counter and typed in something, and then told us he had upgraded us to a boardwalk veiw room. I didn't have to tell him that we were on our honeymoon/FTW, but I did have my headpiec still on my head from earlier. Also, it may have been noted on the reservation as well.

We checked into the GF for our 1st anniversary (we had booked a lagoon view room). THe CM took my DH's license to identify us, then told us we had been upgraded to a Honeymoon Turret Suite in the RPC concierge!!! Needless to say, we were shocked and thrilled. We figured they had noted that we were there exactly a year before for our wedding (and my B'day) and decided to do something great for us!

I was planning on sending my fiance over the day of the wedding to move our bags and check into our room.... should I have him wait until I am there (since I will be in my gown, etc) or should he just go and mention that we'll be back after the WEDDING (hint, hint) :goodvibes

In 1995, we got an upgrade to Concierge Honeymoon Suite for 1 night and concierge for remaing 7 nights for our honeymoon. We mentioned it was our honeymoon, but not to get upgrade. We were just excited.
An FYI to those brides flying. We mentioned it was our honeymoon and we were upgraded to first class on Southwest withouth charge. Again, we didn't go it for that reason because we had no idea, but it was very nice. I think that if your airline or Disney Resort has availability and you get the right person, you could get an upgrade.

1. i would surely put some thought into how to change rooms for the wedding night. My sister and i stayed at the GF the night before the wedding and then my husband & i were there for our wedding night as well. We were told that the hotel would transport our stuff from room to room for us, b/c it was too early to change from 1 to the next! Well, they didn't. Halfway through the reception, we realized the guest book was in my bag in the first room. My brother (best man) left the reception (@GF) quickly to get the book. He ended up being gone for over and hour b/c when he asked for the room # they told him he had to clean out the 1st room or we would be charged an extra night!! the poor kid missed 25 min of minnie and mickey and our cake cutting!!! it wasn't pretty b/c my mom was a wreck trying to find him and the mice were on the clock! anyways, it all worked out, but it was something we hadn't thought of before hand.
2. our wedding was saturday, we stayed in a BEAUTIFUL GF room for free that night, and didn't leave for Hawaii till Monday. Yup, we forgot to book a room for Sunday, so we joined my family in their room, (how romantic, huh!) and kicked my sister to the floor.
3. After Hawaii, we stayed at AKL for 3 nights. I told a few horror stories from our trip, and they gave us a very conveniently located savannah room upgrade. I was very happy!! the room was $350 and we payed $200 with our annual pass rate! So just ask!

I've gotten upgrades during a few different trips but for my Disney wedding and honeymoon I did not want to take a chance so I booked exactly what I wanted. Before wedding was CR tower (we did get a king bed and MK view) and then we moved to the BWI for a garden suite for 5 nights.
