This was actually fun but from not moving around I finally crashed, check this room out. I guess this would be what they call pack them in like sardines.

Okay that was weird. It said Thank you for helping MrGenie with his experiment but we have to close the room before it crashes the game. And then I was booted!

I'm assuming a VMK_CM removed the room maximum for some reason?

What purpose did it serve?

No, the room maximum is still there.

I've gotten hints that they changed the previous "owner can't enter their own full room" issue, but introduced a new "feature." When the owner leaves a full room, one person on the waiting list can get in. Then the owner re-enters the room and repeats.

Can anyone confirm that this is how it works?

I wonder if the purpose of room limits is simply a speed / processor issue. I can't imagine that it was terribly fun being in that room when people started running Cursed Storms... That's bad enough for me when there are just a dozen people in the room.

I know that the more items that are in a room the slower the room gets even without people in it. There is a storage room I can think of that had over 2000 items in it and it gets super-duper slow with just 3 people in it. With 5 or 6 people it just comes to a halt and everyone gets kicked out.

Yes, this is how the "trick" was done. MrGenie kept leaving and returning to the room. I think they will probably fix this bug soon before it becomes the new "in" thing to cram 100 people in your room. (but maybe MrGenie is the only one who can draw that big of a crowd?)

I definitely confirmed that your own personal computer did not slow down...As I was checking both memory being used (Only 2MB More) and processor utilization (which was the same). So your personal computer should not have been impacted, but people's connections were crashing due to no activity just like you lose your connection not moving your character for so much time. You could definitely see the server slowness as typing messages became a total bear (Not drinking a beer either). The fireworks game actually still worked fairly well, so this did not impact other areas as much. I would presume their server has multiple processes that run that load balance information...I wonder if other rooms where slow too, or only this one room. Sorry geek in me coming out again...

I saw the room on the popular list as it fell down toward the bottom of it. I guess I just missed the experiment.
