Banana-Strawberry Smoothies

1 8-ounce carton vanilla low-fat yogurt
3/4 cup milk
Frosty Fruit Smoothie

1 medium banana, peeled and cut into chunks

1 teaspoon vanilla
3 ice cubes
Good luck tomorrow...Just from the "I've had my wisdom teeth out" and lived through DH having his out...
Some other things to consider...jello, pudding, scrambled eggs, macaroni and cheese.
Based on my own mouth, and the dental work I've had done on it, I did not like icey cold things, so I personally would rather have had nothing than a fruit smoothy. I really preferred things at room temperature for several days afterwards.

I am so sorry for your DD. I am the queen of dental work in my family!
I don't have any specific recipes but wanted to let you know what my mother did for me many, many years ago when I had a broken jaw (eek-just figured out I could change "years" to "decades" and it would still make sense :faint: )
Depending on how long your DD will be unable to chew you probably want to put protein in her shakes. Nowadays you can buy protein shake mixes at GNC or any decent vitamin type shop - years ago only at the pharmacy.
To make them taste better, a scoop of ice cream (of course a scoop of ice cream helps anything taste better :goodvibes ). For additional protein, peanut butter. Also if she is a sweets eater you can add the powdered Quik chocolate mix, I think they make a low sugar one, plus the peanut butter for a Reese's type effect. :cloud9:
Good Luck with everything and I hope she is feeling better soon. :) :) :grouphug:
Just wanted to add some pixie dust for your daughter's speedy recovery. Poor baby.

teeth removed.......the doctor wanted him to have something that would allow his meds to go in.....and settle without making him sick....so we cooked some macaroni and put butter on it and it slid down with no problem.....almost like a drink........remember no straws for a while too......

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I couldnt tolerate anything cold. My mom would put everything on the counter to get it room temperature. I lived on Jello, pasta that was over cooked with butter, and ginger ale that was room temperature. I had them pulled in January and I would never do that one again - the cold wind would make my whole jaw ache something fierce.
Good luck I hope she recovers quickly

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled in high school , I ate baby food. Only the fruits of course but some are very good. Just a thought!

Also, oatmeal or cream of wheat w/milk (not too warm).
Hope everything is going well :wizard:

you are all probally going to think me wacky... but KCF mashed potatoes --- they were great since they were smooth and I felt like I was eating something...
When I had my wisdom teeth - I had a glass of soda - and then woke up in the middle of the night in pain. They said it could have been a grain of sugar from the soda that got near the nerve - they told me to wash my mouth with 1/2 peroxide and 1/2 scope --- I would ask the Dr if that would work for your daughter (or anyone else with teeth removed) - I would not wish that pain on anyone.
Pixie dust to you and your daughter... give her a hug from us.

Thanks so much everyone for your helpful resipes and suggestions and prayers.....It was the worse day of my life.....none of her meds help....she never went into the twilight sleep like they said.....I could hear her screaming in pain from the waiting room for over an hour....it was pure HELL for me....too much for an 8 year old....They ended up pulling 5 teeth but 2 were impacted into the jaw pretty bad. So glad it is over...........I hate to think in a few years she may need 4 adult teeth pulled for braces....she has a tiny mouth ...and no room poor kid...thanks again.
She has no pain today or swelling so that is good though///

:grouphug: So glad she is feeling better today. I can't imagine how hard that was for her (and you) to go through. I know I would have been in the waiting room crying my eyes out if I heard my DS9 screaming in pain. :grouphug:
