I was wondering if there were any floatation devices like intertubes or something similar for my 4 year olds to use at Discovery Cove for the river floating part? How boyant are the life vests, will that keep them afloat?

Thanks.

They did have life vests and very large, buoyant noodles (foam inside covered with a plastic) that you can just pick up at the beach area. DD, 9 and a good swimmer, used the noodle on our 4th time around the river -- she was getting tired and they were very good for giving her a break in swimming. Regardless, the river does get to be 8 feet in places and there are a few waterfalls to go under (not too heavy but the littles ones I saw going through were freaking out from the water splashing on their heads and faces), so I would recommend your child have some swimming ability if you are going to take them through it.

We just went in June and neither of my kids could swim, 8 and 5. They both wore the life jackets and used the noodles for the river and loved it!! Yes my 5yr old was a little worried about the waterfalls, but after she did one, she loved it!

have a great time, we can't wait to go back!!

Thanks you. It is good to know about the waterfalls and the depth of the water. I am hoping that there are areas that they can go and then we can just get out before it gets too deep. They are both worried about deep water and I don't want to scare them. They do like to float around, so I am hoping we can do this someplace for a little bit.
