Hello,
Anyone done the above with a BA flight recently? (I know it's not called Twilight Check In but whatever BA call this)
We booked with BA to use this facility - and they are saying that because our flight leaves Gatwick after 10.00am it is not included. Though they advertised it at the time of booking!
I'm a bit unhappy as we are staying off site and are now going to have to lug all our luggage around (no car). I would have made alternative arrangements had I known.
Would love to hear from anyone!
Thanks,
Karen

We have definitely checked in the evening before with BA. I have copied the following advice from the BA website (it opens in a pop-up window so I couldn't paste the link)
___________________________________________
Check-in times for London Gatwick Longhaul:
Check-in opens at 5am for First and Club World and 6am for World Traveller Plus and World Traveller. Passengers may also check in between 4pm and 10pm for all Longhaul flights the next day.
Check-in closes 45 mins before departure for First and Club World and 60 mins before departure for World Traveller Plus and World Traveller.

I can't say for sure that our flight was later than 10am the following day, but the website says nothing about this, and I am 90% sure our flight was about 11am when we flew from LGW to Atlanta in April. Maybe they are giving you the wrong advice? I can't think of any reason why they would have changed this policy, it's such a popular option :confused3

Thank you Kristie! Oh I really hope you are right :)
You wouldn't be able to post the link to the page on BA.com by any chance?
Thanks so much. This is the response I was hoping for :)
ETA - not the pop up link, the page the pop up is on ;)

Sorry - only just read your message! Glad you found the page, and hope it all works out (let us know, because this is exactly what we plan to do in November!).
Have a wonderful holiday.

Thanks Kristie. I surely will let you know what happens!
I have sent an email to BA with a copy/paste of the info you posted above. I will let you know what they say ;)
Hopefully it's just a misinformed Call Centre Agent!

Hurray, good news! The after 10.00 am rule does apply but only for domestic / European flights. So the Call Centre guy was sort of right (but not really!). Just thought I would post to let you all know.
From 21st March 2004 customers departing on British Airways scheduled
services from the North Terminal at Gatwick can check in, deposit
baggage and collect their boarding cards, the day before their flight
departs.
This service will be available for customers on any Intercontinental
Service departing the following day, and also, for those customers
departing on European Services (excluding charters) and Domestic
services that leave on or before 09:55 the following day.
Early check-in is available only between 18:00 and 23:00 on the day
prior to departure for those passengers qualifying as shown above.
All customers using this facility will need to present themselves, their
documents and all their checked baggage as though they were about to
travel.
They will be asked to use the Self Service Check-in machines at Zone C,
and then proceed to drop their bags at the Fast Bag Drop Desks in Zone
C.
Those Customers that hold Premier, Gold or Silver Executive Club cards
will also be able to check in at their appropriate Premium Check-in desk
in Zone C (although still not prior to 18:00).
Day of Departure process.
Customers using Early Check-in will need to present themselves on the
day of departure at their departure gate at least 45 minutes prior to
scheduled departure time for Intercontinental services, and 30 minutes
prior to departure for passengers travelling to European and Domestic
destinations.
Please note:
Once checked in, British Airways will not be able to retrieve baggage
for customers.
Customers will be required to provide a telephone contact (preferably
mobile number) at time of check in to enable use of the facility.
We will not be able to check in non-present members of families/groups.
Thank you for contacting us.

Just to let you know, we did this in June for our trip and it was a breeze. We kept our overnight bag and checked that in the followiing morning. We joked about that one being lost but it all went fine and all bags turned up safely when we arrived at Tampa.
Enjoy!
