I looked and looked but couldn't find a thread for this cruise. Anyone else out there going? It will be me and DH and DS (who will be 10 1/2 by that time).
Looking forward to hearing from you all.

My DW ::MinnieMo & I ::MickeyMo just finished our 2nd DCL cruise on the Wonder (1st w/o kids):cool1: :cool1: Whilst on board, we booked ourselves for the 3 night next year Oct. 19, 2006. I also thread searched, and this is the only posting I see for this cruise.

Anyone else out there? :wave2: :wave2:

We'll be taking our 2x pirate: pirate: DS's (they will be 11 & 9) by then! :ssst: :ssst: We've told the the DS's that we're not going next year since DW & I spent so much money having a good time on this one.

I'm glad someone else finally posted. We are still going. My DS who will be 10 1/2 then has been so good. We have a rule, we can't start counting down until school gets out in June. That's a timeline I can handle. I think he's more excited about missing some school than anything else! LOL

Certainly there must be other cruisers out there going the same period? Come on and make yourself known! :cool1: :cool1:

swcruiser, It looks as though our DS's pirate: pirate: should be in the same kid's clubs. Perhaps they'll have the opportunity to meet?

Time's a flying; we'll be boating our way into the Caribbean before we know it!

Hello!

We just booked the 10/19 Wonder cruise. MN Dis Fans, I see you are from Fergus Falls. We are in Maple Grove, outside of Minneapolis. We decided to make a quick getaway over MEA. In '05, we went to the parks for MEA. We had a great time, but it was really warm & very, very humid. We decided some fresh ocean breezes would be better this year. :sunny:

Yes, PiperG, MEA is the best time to go to WDW! We thought it was REALLY humid last year too! See you on the Wonder! :boat:

Hello Everyone,

We just returned from our magical Eastern cruise. While it was hard to leave the ship, we were happy to know that we have this Wonder cruise coming up in just 262 short days! :hourglass :goodvibes

MN Dis Fans - I see one of your sons will be 9 at the time of the cruise. We actually connected our DS with another DS in advance of the cruise. They did a couple of e-mails back and forth, and then met face-to-face in the terminal. It was nice for DS to have a buddy. Maybe, as we get closer, we could do the same for our boys. :cool1: :cool1:

I just recently booked for a 10 year anniversary cruise. This will be our First Cruise (and we will be leaving the kids at home). Those from MN, what is MEA?

MN Dis Fans
02-09-2006, 11:14 PM
MEA stands for Minnesota Education Association. It is an annual conference for teachers statewide. Schools get out for at least 2 and in many school districts all five days that week. So, hi ho hi ho its off to WDW we go!

Hello Everyone!

We have been to Nassau several times on the Wonder, but have never done a beach trip. Have any of you done a Nassau beach on your own? We are looking for a clean and family friendly location that is not to far from the ship. :sunny:

Thanks for your feedback!

Hey everyone!

I just found this thread after posting one about this sailing ... it's nice to see others will be on the ship at the same time!! I was beginning to think we were going to be there by ourselves! :rotfl2:

I am a 34 yo mom and wife ... DH is 37 and DS-16 and DD-9 at the time of the sailing. Her birthday is October 18th so she's taking this cruise very personally as if it's her very own birthday celebration. :cheer2:

Well, it will be nice getting to know you all ... maybe we can set up a meet and greet. This is actually our first cruise for the most part (DH went years ago before my time!) so we are very excited. :cloud9:

Hi, everyone. We will be joining you. We have 2 DDs age 4 and 7. We did the same cruise last year during our DD7's Fall Break. It was a great end to our week in WDW and can't wait to do it again! Last year, we worried about our cruise being diverted, delayed or even cancelled due to Wilma but were very fortunate and had calm seas the whole time. The following 4 day cruise wasn't as lucky and CC suffered some major damage from Wilma.

I noticed some Minnesotans on earlier threads...I am originally from SD but I went to the U of M and lived in MPLS for 4.5 years. I did the extended plan since I changed majors about 5 times. :) Those were the days!

Can't wait to cruise again...

Hello Dizzny!

We are in Maple Grove, northwest of Minneapolis. It is DH, DS9 and I traveling for the same reason. . . .DS's break from school. Last year we went to WDW for his break, but this time we decided to cruise. We also have an Eastern booked for the first week of Feb. We traditionally do an Eastern at that time of year to get out of the cold for a while!

We are counting down the days! :hourglass

Hello DIZZNY!

My DD7 won't turn 8 for another 6 months, but I have every intention of trying to move her up to the lab. She saw the video of the Club and said "that is for babies!" I know she would do well in the lab, so I am hoping the CM's will agree and let her move up. I posted this question on another thread, and most agreed that she could probably be moved up.

jesters and disneymomforlife,

Jesters, I think I read that thread but I didn't realize it was you. Funny.

Well, if your little girls would like a pen pal leading up to the cruise, I'm sure mine would be very excited. She is a very outgoing child and loved the club, but really only talked about all the times they visited the lab. It was good to have her in the club especially for our first cruise because our 3 year old wasn't too sure about anything. She did well having her sister nearby but now she just finished K-3 and I think she will do just fine. If not, my husband's parents are now going so I think we will still get a little break. At least I hope we do after spending 5 days at WDW.

Hi Everyone!

I'm late joining the thread, but am excited to be cruising (first-time cruiser) on the Wonder 10/19. I'll be travelling solo and am a bit nervous about how this will work in terms of dinner seatings. I travel solo to WDW frequently and love it, but am shy and don't want to barge in on a family group at dinner. I'm sure people will be very nice and welcoming, but still.... Anyone have experience with this? How many are seated at one table?

Thanks for your input. Just made final payment today!

Hi Laurie!
Good for you for being brave and cruising on your own! I admire that as I often have to go to movies, out to dinner, etc... on my own, too. I know that last year we grown-ups went on our own and were sat with two other couples. But I'm not sure how it works for singles. I know that they do have adult and singles activities on board though. You will have a great time!

Hi Everyone!

Our countdown clock shows that we are just 39 days away from our cruise. :cool1:  :sunny: It won't be long before we receive our documents and we are doing the single digit dance!

We are staying in the port area the night before, which is a bit of a change for us. Normally we stay near the airport. DH and I thought it would be fun to wake up closer to the ship and not be so rushed in the morning to get out the door.

The Wonder will be in dry dock the first two weeks of October. There is one cruise before ours, so hopefully they will shake out any post-dry dock issues before we board. I know after the Magic's dry dock that a few things were complete on the first Magic sailing after the refurbishment.

:thumbsup2 :cool1:  :Pinkbounc

I'm going to pick up all of my reading materials and really get serious now about all of this information!

Is anyone eating at Palo's? We have reservations ... but I do not want to miss eating at Animator's Palate so I hope we don't get AP on the same night that we have Palo's.

Is anyone doing any excursions? I don't think we are besides parasailing at CC. My daughter wants to do this and I am FREAKED OUT but I will do it for her because she's only 8 so I don't want her going alone. We did a dolphin swim/ray encounter at Discovery Cove in April so I think we'll just vedge out this trip.

Does everyone know that we are on the 2nd sailing (first 3 night sailing) after the Wonder comes out of dry dock? We'll have all of the new stuff like the linens, towels, bath products, etc ... she'll be all brand spankin' new for us!!!

We have reservations for Palo's on the 2nd night. We booked massages on Castaway Cay but nothing else. We thought about doing Atlantas but with a 4 year old - it really just sounded exhausting. I did not want to make too many plans because we want to relax. We are at Disney World for the 5 days prior and, honestly, thinking about getting to all the restaurants for the DDP has me wiped out! At Nassau, we are probably going to go to the Straw Market and Pirate's Museum, then back to the ship to relax. The in-laws are coming, I hope. My MIL is in remission from an incredibly rare and severe leukemia - 1 year remission and counting. She currently has a "stomach virus" which has completely wiped her out. I am hoping she recovers in the next few weeks - she wants to spend this time with her grandkids.

Kat,
Once you get on the ship, you will find out your dining rotation and if you Palo's conflicts with animator's palatte go to ?guest services desk and see if you can change it. Others may trying to do the same thing. Just make sure you get Gabi up to the pool as soon as you arrive - this is when it is the least busy. Emily will be there and looking for Gabi - :). I'm not sure if we will eat by the pool or in the restaurant. I think we will wing it and see what the kids want to do.

I get tired of planning. I have already planned out our Disney vacation for March and am looking at trying to figure out Thanksgiving. I love vacation! But, it sure is a lot of work planning them.

We received our documents today. They were on the ground next to our mailbox. Eeek! All the other mail was in the box...I'm glad the wind wasn't blowing hard today. :sunny:

Hi there fellow cruisers. It sounds like many of you have made some great connections with each other. I have been out of the loop for the past week or so.

My DDs are 4.5 and 2.5 and we would love to meet up with other families to have friends in the kids clubs and maybe for dining.

We are hoping for dining rotation: AP, PC, and then for Saturday we have reservations at Palo.

With two younger girls we did not make any plans for excursions, but I am hoping to enjoy the Rainforest Room each day for alittle R&R.

Castaway Cay is the one thing I am really looking forward to. Anyway I look forward to hearing more from all of you in the next few weeks.

We live in Tampa so we are driving over to Port Canveral Wed. night and staying through monday afternoon. Possibly going to Kennedy Space Center but no solid plans.

Hey all ...

Wow, you got your docs ... YAY!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc

Renee - We have 8pm reservations for Palo on Friday night. What time are your ressies??

Gabi wants to parasail at CC, so I made reservations for her and I to do that there but that's the only thing so far. We spent a lot of money at Discovery Cove in April so we may not even do anything like the Ray Experience - but we may, who knows.

We definitely have plans to head straight to the pool once we get on board. I'll probably have the kids put their suits on when we leave the hotel that morning so that they are set and ready for the pool. We will be looking for you guys for sure!!

I was thinking that in Nassau, we might even stay on the ship but I don't want to limit us either. The pirate museum does sound like fun - I'll have to look into that.

Robin - it's definitely all going to be about the R&R for sure. Do you guys want to plan a time to meet up?

We can plan on the pool, right after embarkation. We are in stateroom 7102. If we don't find each other, if we know each other's staterooms, we can at least get in contact with each other that way.

Wow, 25 more days ... :dance3: Can't wait!!!

Hi all :thumbsup2 I booked the Oct. 19 cruise about a month ago and we can't wait anymore! This will be our first cruise ever and being Disney veterens we are looking forward to all that disney has to offer. I'm 24 and my family (for this trip at least) includes my parents and my friends' 9 year old son who is more like a son to me than anything. It will be his birthday this trip, he is thrilled and has been doing a lot of this :bounce: for the last couple weeks. I take him on vacation with me whenever I can because he's so full of life and excited to see everything he can. As for me, I hope to get some relaxing time on the ship (I can dream can't I? lol). It would be great to meet a family with boys around the same age. He's already wondering what kind of friends will be in the kids club.

Now that intros are over I do have a few questions I hope some old pros can help with if you don't mind. I'm having a hard time grasping this whole dinner situation. From what I understand Tritons is semi-formal and the other two are cruise casual. I get that, but then there is a list that says what to wear on each day including the Pirate party. So I'm wondering is it going to be possible that we are wearing suits and dresses with pirate bandana's if Tritons falls on that day of our rotation? I would just like to plan the proper outfits and I feel a little confused. Mainly I need to know if I'm packing full pirate attire for him or not? And is a Captain Hook costume too much? I just don't want to have a 9 year old who is torn between his brand new suit he's been begging to wear (shockingly he really is) and a cool pirate outfit. pirate:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :confused3 And I look forward to seeing any and all of you on the ship. Thanks!

As far as the pirate stuff, you know ... I really don't know the answer to that but would love to!! I'll check some of the trip reports and see what info I can gather. Maybe you can cross post and put the question on the main DCL board ... will probably get an answer super fast that way.

Welcome again!!

Thank you so much!!! :cheer2: That was the clarification I needed. I think I will skip the costume though. It seems that there will be enough craziness to go around! I can't wait :woohoo: :Pinkbounc

His b-day is the 5th (also turning 9) but the cruise is his main present so I was thinking of doing the cake and banners waiting in our room. Its like $40 but I think he'd get a kick out of it. I also found some Disney pirate b-day decor and plates that I'm bringing on with us. I figure we'll have a mini party by the pool at some point.

Thank you again for the help!

Lots of October birthdays out there. My daughter turns 8 on the 27th. We are going to keep it low key on the cruise though because my 4 year old, born 5 days before Christmas, being so close to Christmas, really gets the short end of the stick. Not by us, but by relatives, in general, and just by being so close to Christmas, you know, it is hard to compete with Santa Clause. Anyways, I am rambling, and in incomplete sentences, never the less. Sorry.

Kat,

We have Palo reservations at either 7 or 7:30 Friday night, I have to check.
We didn't do this the last year but want to this year. I am planning to skip the Golden Mickey Show or whatever it is. Not to my liking at all. It was like one big commercial for Disney movies. A lot of people like it though so I would not want to influence anyone into not seeing it. We will look for you by the pool.

Robin,

I sent you a pm. I see you are new to posting so if you don't know what that is, let me know. When I first found the boards, I had a pm sit in my box for 6 months and didn't know it. Oops.

To everyone else, 3 days goes fast. The dress codes are a guidance overall. Some people really get uptight about it. We do our best to abide by it all but, like I said, it is only 3 days. My main goal is to have fun and relax after 5 days at the World. Can't wait!!!! Oh, my other goal is to check out the wine or martini tasting. And, maybe a round of bingo, which I haven't played since I was 5.

Happy Sails.....

Hi Everyone...

So glad to see that there are others who are sailing...Thought for a minute we we going to be alone...HA HA HA!!!!

If you're new to Disney cruises or a veteran, we have found nothing better than this. My wife and I try to get onboard as often as our schedules permit.

We live here in Orlando, but get tired of the parks at times. This trip we are leaving the kids at home and enjoying a quick trip to the islands.

Hope to see everyone onboard. :goofy:

Joel,

Welcome to our meet thread!! Even tho we've said hello already!! :thumbsup2

Very nice that you are getting away kid-free ... we all need it at times. I am fortunate to have a husband that puts up with me planning so many vacations every year. We've been away without the kids 2 times this year, both times to South Beach, which we love. Once for my birthday in March and then again for our wedding anniversary in July. We did Disney for 11 days in April and did 5 days in Aruba just over a month ago, also with the kids and now we are doing this quick cruise. :cheer2: He sure loves me, LOL.

We have yet to plan an official meet for the thread. We are going to try to get to the pool very quickly after embarkation so that is a possibility. I've never been on the ship, so I am not familiar with good meeting places.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I have been checking the Norfolk web cams on a regular basis and trying to calculate her arrival time in dry dock. Should put her into the channel somtime after 5:00pm. Given the eastern weather conditions and sea conditions, I don't see any delays.

Just talked to my cousin who is a CM here in Orlando, and tells me that the improvements will be wonderful. Can't wait to get onboard. I anticipate the first cruise (Oct15th) will be more of a shake-down and ours should go well (I hope).

My wife and I are counting down the days...Only 8 more of work and then vacation!!!!

Talk to you soon.

Good Morning Everyone,

Still here counting the days until vacation...Getting more excited as the days go by...We are secretly waiting for the food as well. Dinner at Palo, breakfast buffet, Mickey ice cream bars (by the way, not on room service menu, but they will deliver them). We are starting our vacation the night before and heading to Epcot for Food and Wine (Little Richard performing). It's good to have relatives that are CM's. Should be eating (and drinking) my way around the world by 4:30 or 5:00 pm.
For those that asked, the pirate party starts at about 9:45 and lasts until 11:15 (approx.) If you've never seen it, a fun family show, with some unique stunts and surprises.
For anyone who has never been to Nassau, keep everything in your front pockets and use travelers checks or charge cards. Small amounts of cash to bargin with but don't flash it in public. Stay on main streets and well lit areas (damn I sound like my parents), it is a beautiful island, but they also thrive on unsuspecting tourists.
Just some tips...

Hello All!!

Happy Sunday!! :sunny:

I'm guessing since she's in DD, maybe the movie will change and be new for the first cruise so we probably can't even ask anyone who cruised recently. Would DCL know?? I can call and report back!!

We are leaving on Wednesday and will arrive in Orlando at 1pm. We are going to get our car from Budget and head towards Disney. Since it's my daughter's birthday, we purchased tickets to see La Nouba in Downtown Disney. My husband and I have seen it 3 times without them and they always say it's not fair, lol, so we bit the bullet and are going to take them this time. We are huge Cirque du Soleil fans and this will be out 12th show. We are going to try to do dinner at Rainforest Cafe also since we went twice in Vegas but again, never with the kids (can you see we are kids at heart?? LOL) so we want to take them there as well. Then we'll head to port and get settled in at the Renaissance Inn and just be stir crazy until the next day!!

I think we may plan to stay on the ship in Nassau or even do just the Pirate Museum. Is that far from the port??

We haven't set up an official "meet" for us all. Is anyone interested in doing that?

 The Shaggy Dog
 The Guardian
 Prestige

So there we have it!! Can they play all of those in 3 days? She didn't say if it was any of them in the list, she just listed them all off so I'm not sure. Anyone know how many movies are generally offered on a 3 day sailing?

Kat,
Plans sound great...You'll have alot of fun...I'm dying here counting the days, time is starting to move very slowly. Although, only 4 more days of work (where I am right now) and then vacation... :cool1:
Staying on the ship at any port (other than Castaway Cay) isn't always a bad idea...It's nice to say you've been somewhere, but it's also very nice to have the ship pretty much to yourself.
I would suggest seeing some of the downtown, straw market area and then heading back...We usually get off, stop in the jewlery store, the alcohol shop and the cigar shop and head back. Takes about an hour for that. but it's all up to you. As far as the Pirate Museum, I have no idea where it is.

We would be happy to do that as well. The Pirate Museum is really the only thing that we want to do in Nassau. We will probably head back to the ship after that.

Here is the website for it. Based on my searches, the general consensus is that it is pricey, but still a good value. It's within walking distance of the port as well, which is a plus. www.pirates-of-nassau.com

Based on what everyone else wants to do that day ... what time is good for everyone to meet? We can do whatever ... my kids are early risers!!

Joel, don't feel bad ... you've earned a boat bum day!! As a matter of fact, that will be the only excursion we do that day so we'll be back before you know it - surely in time for lunch, I would guess.

For our initial group meeting ... How about right after the sail-away celebration and that fantastic horn I've been hearing about and am DYING to hear (I'm a sap, I'll get teary-eyed, I know it!)?? What is a convenient location to that?? For anyone with kids, DIZZNY and I will be meeting at the Mickey Pool upon embarkation as our kids were pen pals for a few weeks before the cruise. Hi to all,

We are all sooooo excited about this trip, even my DH, who really isn't much of a Disney fan.

To Renee and Kat,

If you check your emails while in Orlando, we will meet you at the pool after embarkation. There are four of us in matching Disney hawaiian print outfits. As far as the pirate museum in Nassau, we are going to boat bums for the day.

Also, we are in Tampa and thought if you are at any of the Disney parks on Sunday, we (the girls and I) could drive over and try to have a meet and greet. We have passes and would enjoy making the connection for the girls prior to our cruise. My cell phone is 813-727-8889.

So it looks like the Pirate Museum on Nassua day is a GO!! 9:30 am in the Lobby/Atrium area ... I'm excited!!

I'll be doing our packing tomorrow. I'm going in for a minor surgical procedure on Tuesday at noon which will require me to be on bedrest for 2 days (shhhhh, i won't tell if you don't, lol) so I can't do anything from that time to getting up to go to the airport on Wednesday morning. We are super excited to be surprising the kids and taking them to see La Nouba!!

As far as our first DIS meet, I'm not sure the best way to do this. We will be heading straight to the kids pool and meeting up with DIZZNY at least initially.

Robin, we'll be on the lookout for your Hawaiin prints and I think I'll be wearing a white baseball hat with Tink on the front and maybe i'll even put a green mickey head on my hat, too!!

I know Joel and his wife will be traveling kid-free this time so he'll probably be as far away from the Mickey pool as possible!! :rotfl2: As far as our first official DIS meet, what is the order of events?? Where Bugs is on a Hawaiin island and he meets up with those two guys who are starving and dying to get off the island and then the large ship comes at the end?? They yell "we're goin' on a boat ... we're goin' on a boat!!" ... well, that's what we have been saying for the last month ...

:cool1: "we're goin' on a boat!! we're goin' on a boat!!" :cool1:

Yep, you call me Piper! Believe it or not, there is another Piper at my company. She is Piper L. (I am obviously Piper G.) so I used it as my Dis name.

I am currently trying to get some work done, but I got distracted watching the Wonder sail by on the two palms webcam. :surfweb:

So where is that twopalms.com website for that the Wonder is sailing by now?

This is the link to the two palms web cam. On Sunday and Thursday you can watch the webcam between 5:25 and 5:35 EST to watch the Wonder sail by. At this juncture, the ship has made a right turn out of the channel and is starting to head out to sea. On Saturday, you can see the Magic at about the same time.

This is the link to the Port Canaveral webcam. Sometimes you can see the Magic or Wonder docked via this webcam. However, recently it has not been focused on our ships. :sad2:

There is also a Radisson webcam, which an individuals can line up to control. Usually on sail days a Disser gets the cam and makes sure we all get a good look at the ship before it heads off down the channel.

Hi Cori!

Our DS is also 9 (Hayden). We will be wearing green bracelets. Please look for us so that we can hook up Ethan and Hayden. There is another DS9 on board (son of MN Dis Fans). Although our cruise is short, I am hoping we can find a way to connect the boys. Hayden always goes to the lab after dinner, so maybe they can look for each other there.

What time are you planning to be at the terminal? We can also look for you there.

I'm still figuring out when to go to the terminal :confused3 We will be flying down wed and staying over at the caribbean beach resort (my fav after the contemporary :thumbsup2 ) Then we have a character breakfast before heading over to the ship. Not sure how much or little we should be rushing to get there? Any advice?

I would say don't rush through the breakfast to get there early, but that would be my game plan since we love character dining so much. If your breakfast is early enough, you won't need to rush. The gates open at 10 from what I understand but embarkation is at least an hour and a half after that, if not more ... someone please correct me if I am wrong??!! I would just say to keep your ears open to local traffic conditions if anything.

:wave2: I'm Paul, my DW ::MinnieMo is Missy. Chad pirate: is 11, and Johnny pirate: is 9, or perhaps :stitch: is more suitable!

We're leaving MN Tuesday afternoon. We'll have a lazy day Wednesday in Cocoa Beach, and plan to get to the port to board the ship early on Thursday. We'll try to have a couple of lime green stickers on us somewhere.

Our DS's still have no clue we're doing a DCL cruise!

See you all on board! :disrocks:

Paul,

I still can't believe that it's a secret!! I'll have to do mine that way next time!! We are going to see La Nouba in Orlando Wednesday night for my daughter's birthday :bday: and that is a secret but that's about as far as I can get. I have a hard time keeping secrets!!

I'm finishing up the packing today ... going to get my nails done and help my procrastinating child finish her science project that is due tomorrow!! Plus we have to bake cupcakes for her class since she won't be there on Wednesday. But the way I see it ... it's a means to an end at this point!! :rotfl2: A really fantastic end!!

Hi! :wave2: I'm very late to this thread -- booked our 10/19 cruise last January, but just learned of the Dis boards! Our group will include: me, DH, DD 11 (almost 12), my parents celebrating their golden wedding anniversary :cheer2: and my older brother (any good ideas for singles??).

DD 11 is beyond excited, and already angling to book her birthday cruise for Nov. 2007.

IF we finish our door signs -- hers/mine will be Capt. Jack Sparrow and Pokemon (her design), brother will be golfing Mickey, parents will have special 50th anniversary sign. IF we finish them . . . and get packed . . . and get homework done . . . .

Can't wait!

I was wondering about the door sign policy...we always decorate our window/balcony at disney and I wasn't sure what the cruise standard was. We go for 11 days starting on thanksgiving every year and always pack a 4 ft tree and tons of lights to bring with! :santa: If anyone knows what is allowed on doors please let me know :thumbsup2

Cori,

The doors are magnetic so anything that you can magnetize (with magnetic strips, etc) are allowed ...

check out this link for tons of ideas ... not sure how much time you will have left but you can do something from now til then, I'm sure!!

I haven't found an "official" policy...However, I would imagine anything in good taste and of course Disney related would be fine.

Just remember fun & relaxation!!! That is the name of the game...For everyone that is new to cruising, just some ideas from past experiences...

The cruise is full from what I understand, the check in process can be long at times...Have ALL of your documents filled out before you get there. There is a small cafe in the cruise terminal for snacks...any open foods cannot be brought onboard. For the adults, you can bring alcohol onboard (put it in your carryon).

Some of the characters show up inside the terminal for pictures, usually hanging around the model of the ship...But, again enjoy, take your time, walk around and enjoy the area (it's beautiful).

Before you board, pick a place to eat...And go right there and eat...Then take time to explore the ship...Rooms are usually ready about 1 or 1:30...Get there, relax, unpack, and get ready for the lifeboat drill (or everyone looks bad in orange).

Have fun...

Joel

and we had a fantastic time!!! So, so, SO sad to get off of the ship, but hey, getting off only meant we are now closer to getting back on!!

Not sure when that will be but my husband said he will only cruise Disney for the value of it ... and has agreed to cruise again hopefully next year so we'll see what happens.

It was so nice to meet up with everyone that we did. I know we missed a few people but I hope an amazing time was had by all.

LaurieP - I think I saw you ... and actually spoke with you once in the elevator, but I'm not sure. On the very last night, I saw someone who it at that time dawned on me, could very well have been you ... at Disney Dreams ... did you go to that show??? If so, were you sitting on the right side of the theater in the end seat about 15 rows up??? I kept seeing this woman over and over, spoke to her in the elevator, saw her at dreams on the last night and then wondered if it was you ... and how funny it would be if I actually SPOKE to you ... but never knew it was you??

I hope everyone got home safe!!!

Home again! Home again! Did we really go? It felt sooo quick :sad2: We had a great time while it lasted though. Just got home last night after spending a night in Disney after getting off the ship. Ethan and I did the park hopper death march and went to MGM, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom in one day. ;) The extra magic hours at MK that night really helped. We were there riding splash mountain again and again at midnight. On the way out we stopped and bought chocolate covered rice crispie mickeys and soda for the bus back. He was concerned if I would let him eat it right then, so I explained that when you go on roller coasters at midnight its perfectly normal to eat candy and soda at 1:30am. :rotfl2: I still can't believe he made it 14 hours in the parks!!

The cruise was great but way too short. We felt rushed the whole time. I think if we go again it would have to be for the 7 night just so we had more leisure time. A bigger room is another definate must. When I booked this time my mind set was, its only 3 nights whats the big deal? Oh well, now I know.

Kat and Renee it was really nice meeting you both and your families. After going to the pirate musuem and seeing you around the ship, ethan was so used to being around people we kind of knew, that for the rest of the trip he was just randomly talking to everyone within 5 feet of us! lol!! Soooo embarassing!! :lmao: Really glad we met up though :thumbsup2

Now its on to our thanksgiving trip at Disney. We leave the day before thanksgiving and come home on Dec. 3 :woohoo:

We had a great time, however short it was. We are headed back next year with the entire family...All 15 of us (september 23rd if you want to book).
We had a great time, the service was so so compared to times before...Palo was incredible as usual...I'm going to try and post a photo in case anyone saw us onboard...

Kat,

I bet it was me you spoke with! I sat in the same area for all 3 shows. It's funny how on a ship that large you do keep seeing the same people all the time. Traveling solo was no problem at all. Everyone was so friendly and having the cabin to myself was quite luxurious. Weren't we lucky with the weather!

My next cruise isn't until next August... the 14-night repo coming back from Barcelona. I re-booked it on board and saved a further $1000!

I'm posting this from Saratoga Springs, so I hope it goes through...

OK, I started another thread on this in Trip Reports, but did anyone hear the horn on our cruise? I never heard it and am curious as to whether I just missed it or if they didn't blow it. Was looking forward to that bit of "magic".

DisneyMomforLife
10-25-2006, 08:30 AM
We heard the horn a few times ... we were actually up on the deck when they did it once and it was L-O-U-D ... loud!!! They played When You Wish Upon A Star, those 7 horn blows and it gave me chills it was so awesome. Maybe you heard it, but didn't know that was it because it wasn't a standard horn blow??

Kat

barney4liz
10-25-2006, 08:36 AM
No, that's what I was waiting for -- can't believe I missed it! Can you hear the horn when you are below decks? Maybe that's how I missed it. But I was waiting for it during the sailaway, too, and we were outside.

DisneyMomforLife
10-25-2006, 08:41 AM
I heard it at the sail away party and can't remember specifically when the other one was ... I think we were leaving Nassau or Castaway Cay? Not sure. Those are the only two times I remeber hearig it so if they do it everytime you leave somewhere, we missed it once. It could be that you don't hear it down below.

Just wanted to say it was great meeting everyone that we were able to onboard. It is amazing how we ran into so many of you so many times! It just went way too fast and I wish we would have had time to check out the deals for 7 day cruises. Was anyone able to do that?
