We are so looking forward to this, too.

Barb -- thanks for the note about the sig -- I've been spending way too much time on the "Post your WDW homemade shirt" thread. I'm not talented with graphics software, but I love seeing all the designs other people are making (and the cool sigs they create)! Maybe we should do some shirts for our cruise! We Definitely need to celebrate your husband's birthday.
I'm so excited to see more people joining this board. On our two previous cruises, I didn't know about this board and didn't have the opportunity to "meet" people beforehand.
I hope everyone has a great week!

I am glad more people are joining to. For awhile myself and Barb through that we were going to have the Magic to our self's. How did you do your signiture. It is neat. I like the ida about the signs for the doors. We will have to put are thinking cap on. We have grafic software at home. I will hve to play with it. I will post here if I come up with any thing good.

To create the signature, there are directions in the thread I was talking about. Although I do have to admit, I finally had to ask my husband to help because I wasn't getting it!
When I run across the directions I'll try to cut and paste the directions in an e-mail to you.

Thank you, we were quite lucky actually. We do have a blue tarp on our roof though. Hopefully we will get a new roof soon. My inlaws lost their whole house. It's sad.
It will be me, my DH and my DD 12 on the cruise. I am hoping there will be/are others on the meet with kids around her age.

Just noticed your weight loss counter and wanted to tell you congratulations on your weight loss and to encourage you to keep going to meet your goal! I just started WW again, but am encouraged that each time I go back, I'm relatively close to the weight I was when I stopped going to meetings. The problem is that I've not gotten down to goal with WW so I do still have 15 pounds to go, and those are always the hardest for me.
Anyway, Go Girl Go!
MrsJobba1
11-30-2005, 08:17 AM
Hi Marci,
Thankyou for your kind comments. I just started 2 weeks ago on a program similar to WW. I get weighed on a Thursday (so fingers x for tomorrow). To help me motivate I have got a fab long black velvet (backless) dress which would be ideal for the formal night on the cruise. It is hanging up in my bedroom.
The past cruises we have never had any of the photos done :guilty: ( even ran through the embarkation one) but this year I am determined I will want to get them.
Just got to keep a check of christmas, the hardest time of the year. ;)
Anyway good luck to you too. :wizard: Im sure you can lose those 15 for the cruise too! :goodvibes
marcij
11-30-2005, 09:25 AM
Well, I've not been successful in the last 15 EVER, but maybe we can motivate each other. I've been as high as almost 70 pounds over goal, and WW has helped lose all but the last 15.
That means you lost weight over Thanksgiving -- way to go! I lost 1.8 pounds Thanksgiving week -- weigh-in was last Saturday, but I haven't had time to exercise so I'm not sure I've made any progress this week. My sister had a baby in April, and she encouraged me to go back with her to WW two weeks ago. It is always helpful to have someone to work with as we try for these goals! Good luck with your weigh-in this week, and PD coming your way!

:flower: Hi Fellow Cruisers! Just thought I would share what I found on the discussion part of the site. Someone listed the below web site that shows other ships that are at port when you are. I decided to look. Guess what I found. It shows we have an Itinerary change. Instead of Cozumel we are going to Cosa Maya. I looked at the DCL site and it shows Cozumel. I wonder when they will let us know if this is true. I hope it is before the 90-day mark. I would hate to make shore excursions reservations of we are not going to be there. The post is called Other Ships in Port by Pyramid2000.
I could not sleep so I have been up surfing the boards since 5:00AM CST.
I have also been looking for XBOX 360. I don’t think I will have any luck with that till after Christmas. :confused3
Got an e mail from DCL today and they said that it has not been changed to Cosa Maya. TIme will tell. :flower:

P.S. I sent DCL an e mail about the above I will let everyone know when they answer me.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. We had a great time on our first WDW Christmas trip -- got back on the 21st, then after one day at work, ran down to Austin for 24 hours for Christmas with my DH's family, then back to Kaufman for Christmas with my family. Now that those trips are over, I'll turn my attention to researching more on the Western cruises, as I'm only familiar with the Eastern ones.
Hey Marcie -- my husband is also an accountant, although he does more financial analysis (does have a CPA license), but only really does taxes for us and a few friends, family.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say it was nice to get to know you, but we had to move our cruise. We found out my DH has a Business meeting that week. So, we moved it to July 15th. I was really tempted to move it to July 1st to be on the cruise on July 4th but it was a lot more expensive. Hope you have a Magical Cruise.

My kids, who are totally unlike me and are considered a little too skinny, eat better on the ship than anywhere else! They hit Scoops for icecream and fruit pretty often, and they also managed to eat some at breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as eating two pieces of pizza before bedtime. I think all the swimming and pingpong really makes them hungry!

Thanks Marci.
We've done the Eastern once (our first trip). I actually like the Western better. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because of the additional port of call (I think the western has four vs. the eastern's three). Or, maybe it's because you don't have to get up at 6 am for customs in the middle of the cruise!
We are looking forward to meeting all of you as well.

:flower: Yes, but my kid is not so little. He is 20. So it will be me my DH and DS. I only have one.
We also had a balcony on are 4 day and I loved it so that helped us in deciding to take a 7 day. I also love anything that has to do with Disney. I do agree with chilling out and getting into the groove. In todays time there is not time to relax while you are home. It is always something.

We'll have to get your boys together with my DS (9). What do they like to do? My DD is easy to entertain on the cruise...she loves the kids club. My DS, on the other hand, is a little more shy... he likes video games, baseball and basketball.

Hi Kenny,
This is our first Disney cruise. DH and I cruised before on RCCL and NCL.
Sounds like our boys would get along well. DS 9( will be 10 in May) loves his video games and his main sport is baseball. DS 8 also enjoys the video games, baseball and played basketball. The boys are really looking forward to the cruise and they really enjoy making new friends on vacation!

jmatias and kennygee--
I have two boys, ages 10 and 7, and they both also love to play video games, baseball, basketball and soccer. They also love to spend a lot of time at the ping pong tables on the ship. They are both kind of shy but warm-up after a while. Maybe when it gets closer to our cruise we could introduce our kids to each other via e-mail and pictures? I think that would make a big difference if my kids know names and faces before we board.

It will be nice for the kids to meet each other before the cruise if it works out for everyone. This way when they board they will know someone.
I can’t believe that tomorrow we hit the 5-month mark. I have a lot to do. We want to get passports before the cruise so we do not have to worry about the birth certificates. Also, the weekend of March 10th, 11th and 12th we will be in St. Louis. It is a busy time right now. We are going skiing in Lake Tahoe leaving in the afternoon on March 10th, and flying back on March 15th. I'll probably work 1/2 days on Thursday and Friday of that week so I don't get too far behind at work but can still have fun with my kids. The week of March 12 - 16 is a big spring break week for a lot of Texas schools and colleges.
Any others with Spring Break plans?

We're heading to BCV during our spring break (4/13 - 4/23)...can't wait. We went there last year during spring break and although the parks were incredibly crowded, the resort was great.
We too are starting to get ready for baseball. It's snowing like crazy here right now so it's hard to think about baseball, but we have an indoor batting cage facility near us which we use often.

We have had such a mild winter that we could have played baseball year round! Saturday is my oldest son's last basketball game, and there is a baseball clinic that afternoon. The draft is Feb. 28th, practice starts the next week, with games beginning after April 1st. Both boys take batting lessons once a week from a local coach, and my oldest also has pitching lessons. My dad built his grandchildren a batting cage last spring -- concrete, but no roof, with lights for night. It's a basball throw away from our house -- very convenient! I have to admit, though, that both kids excel more in soccer which is played in the fall and spring because they are both fast as the wind, then they do in baseball. They are both making a lot of improvement in baseball, so maybe this will be their year to shine in that sport.
Sound like a lot of fun trips are planned!

Yes, it is cool and my parents do spoil my kids. I sometimes get out there and hit balls, too. My husband did help build it -- helped put up the nets and lights -- it was being built right around the time my husband was laid off. (Thankfully, he found another job within a month.)
Now, I wish there was something we could build to catch for my son when he pitches. My husband is often late getting home from work during the week, and although I'm an okay catcher, my son is beginning to throw too fast for me to do a very good job without hurting myself. :rotfl2:

My family loves baseball to. That is why we watch the Little League World Series. With my son not in little league I miss those summers at the park. I am one of those mothers that would not mind if they had to play on Mother’s Day.
Now to see my son play I have to travel 1 ½. But at least I can see him play, so I am not complaining.

We have been having strange weather like this over the last couple of weeks, and before that very warm weather for most of the "winter". It seems everyone is having strange weather. It is giving me the "cruise blues." It can't come soon enough!
It is 16 her now with a high of 20 and windy today. Tomorrow the is is 13 witha low of 3. We had rain yesterday almost all day. If it was snow it would have been like NY and that I do not want. ALl in all we have had a pretty good winter here. I am not goingto complain. :sunny:

Hi all,
Hope you are all keeping well and getting through the winter. I have just booked the REAS package for our cruise. Anyone else done that? I am looking forward to being spoilt.
I am going to try and stay up tonight to try and join in the cruise chat :surfweb: Dont know whether I'll make it though - might set my alarm clock. I am determined to make it one of these Fridays LOL
Take care

Hi All!
Hope everyone is having some good weather. :sunny:
Reading over on the main cruise board it seems like the Western cruises won't be going back to Cozumel soon....wonder if our cruise will change also? :confused3
I don't mind going to another port since we visited Cozumel before but I would like Disney to give us ample notice so we can plan any excursions.

:sunny: It is 18 defrees here right now. The other day it was 10 below. Could be worse though.
As far ast the ports go to page 8 #79 on are thread. I one of the post a whil back in the main cruise part someone listed a site to check and see were the ships were schedulet to go. I went there and it did not show Cozumel. I tehn sent Disney a e mail and they responed that we were going to Cozymel. I dod agree I would like to know. But maybe they are trying to wait and see if things get better. pixiedust:

Hey guys -- look what Flo (wltdsnyfan) did for us. She listed everyone that has posted that they are planning on going on the 7/29/06 Disney Magic in the first post of the thread. It will make it much easier to keep up with the group. If you don't want your info listed, if it is listed incorrectly, you need to make changes, or want to be added to the list, please pm me or post it in the thread. Flo is about to go out of town, so I'll keep up with the updates and give them to her when she gets back.

:mickeyjum Hi!
Yesterday I received what they call a Disney Cruise Line travel kit. It lists the excursions, activities and more. It also gave me the dates that I can start planning. May 15th final payment is due; April 30th is when I can start to make shore excursions, spa and Palo reservations and babysitting times if my final payment is in. Then is says July 29th starts my vacation to paradise. It is realy nice. It comes in a portfolio. Did anyone else receive this? If you did not get it yet you will love it when you do. Seeing the dates as to when everything is due makes me even more excited then I am (don’t know how this is possible). party:

I got my cruise travel kit this morning! :woohoo:
Like you, it says I can book excursions, spa & Palo on April 30th.
However recently I added the REAS package, so Im going to email DVC (who I booked with) to see whether I can book 105 days out! Its worth a try
I checked the cruise critic website and it has us down for costa maya rather than cozumel!!!
Is anyone planning on doing any excursions? I dont think we'll bother and just use local taxis when we are there. That way I can see how my back is on the day.
Well off to do some reading!

I just had my Spring Break cut short unexpectedly this week. (One of the admins found out we were going to get rid of her so she quite without two weeks notice. We left Friday afternoon for Tahoe. I found out early Monday morning that the admin had quit. UGGGHHH. So much for a relaxing stress-free week! I was on the phone and computer a lot, from that point, but we did have great snow -- it snowed every day we were there. I think they got more than 4 ft of snow in the last 5 days. It was really beautiful, but not exactly what I expected for my break. I was supposed to be off all this week. Today, I am interviewing candidates, so my boys are coming in to work a little later and staying here and watching DVDs. I worked almost 4 hours last night after getting home, so I hope to be able to take part of tomorrow off. I had promised the boys we would go to the Science Place. Life could be much worse, so I'll stop my pity party now.

hehe i was just thinking about this.
It was my DH birthday the other week abd his mam bought him a green t-shirt with slippers. I chuckled tomyself, and said that he neededs to keep the t shirt until july.
When we got home Dh was puzzled. I then explained that dis'ers wear green to identify themselves!
(Although last year I wore a lime green vest top and no one approched me or did I see any one else on embarkation wearing anything green)
It could have been me though !!! :lmao:
Looking forward to planning
Out of interst I got another cruise planning trip - acknowledging that since we have the Romance package we can start making reservations ASpril 15th.
However it gave excursion info on cozumel, costa mayo and key west - no Grand Cayman!!!

Out of interst I got another cruise planning trip - acknowledging that since we have the Romance package we can start making reservations ASpril 15th.
However it gave excursion info on cozumel, costa mayo and key west - no Grand Cayman!!!
This was different to my last one.
Just wondered what others have got ? :confused3
:sunny: MrsJobba1: I hope this does not mean that they may change are Grand Cayman stop!! This would be very disappointing for us. We just paid are cruise off last week and it shows paid in full. Now I cannot wait till we receive the written conformation. When I wrote to them the last time they said that we were still going to Grand Cayman. Now I cannot wait to see if this has changed. It still shows Grand Cayman on line, I guess this will be a wait and see.
My husband started to work on are door sign this week. Instead of putting are real names on are door we are going to put are names that are used in are user names. Mine would be WLTDSNYFAN.
We are getting closer and closer. We decided to live on the Friday before the cruise and stay at the Hyatt airport (I think). This way we get up they take is luggage and we do not see it till we are on the Magic. I don’t want to take a change of delays at O’Hare and missing the Magic. That would not be good that would be very sad. party: :boat:

HI!
We are definitely onboard for the July 29th cruise. We have two cat 7s. Usually do a cat 4...3 kids...but decided to take our DD's best friend with us too. So this configuration sleeps 6! Hoping that it will work out well.
I am Tiffany, DH-Tom, DD-Abby 14 at the time, DD's best friend-Tine 15 at the time, DS-Iain 11 turning 12 onboard, and DS-Alec 10 at the time! We like Eastern better, but needed the timing on this one. Have you been on board since the new villas in the spa opened up??? To die for!!!! Make plans to indulge!

Thank you all for the nice welcome and for adding us to the list. Marci - I'm sure my son (Kyle - age 5) will run into your 7 yearl old in the kids' club at some point. We will also be arriving a few days before the cruise to spend some time at Disney. This is the last big Disney trip before my son starts Kindergarten in early August so we're going to do as much as we can.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the changes on the Magic since our last cruise on that ship was August 2005 (West Coast to the Riviera). We were on the Wonder this past February (booked this one before getting off) but it doesn't have the updates like the Magic got. We're doing the Western Carribean this time since our last attempt at that itinerary (September 2004) got somewhat thwarted by Hurrican Frances. The detours kept us from seeing Key West and my husband agreed to go again for the chance to stop there. Okay with me if that happens again, means I might get him to try a third time :)
We are in a category 9 this time (previously have had category 6, 7, & 8) so I'm not sure what to expect being on deck 2 this time without a balcony. Anyone previously cruised in category 9 that can share an experience?
Happy cruising,
Shanna

Hi Shanna,
Welcome to our board.
This is going to get really confusing for me as I have just booked the 28th July 2007 11 night med cruise. So when IM on this cruise I can say I'll be here next year - exactly.
I'm so thrilled I can't type!

As of April 8, the Disney Cruise Line's 7-night Western Caribbean itinerary on the Disney Magic will again include Cozumel as a port-of-call. Since Fall 2005, when the island was hit by Hurricane Wilma, the Magic has bypassed this stop. Since the cruise ship pier has not yet been fully repaired, cruisers will be taken ashore by tenders. Vacationers will have to be aboard the Magic by 5:30 p.m. that day, since the ship will leave Cozumel at 6 p.m.

CONGRATULATIONS Mrs.Jobba1 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I'll have to live through your excitement....I would love to go on the MED cruise but our kids are too young and its too far right now. I glad you got what you wanted!
Also happy to hear that we are going to Cozumel. Our last time there DH and I went to Chankanaab park and had a great time snorkeling and relaxing. I'm sure the kids would enjoy it also.
Just curious what time dinner everyone has...we have the early seating....with young kids I know they won't make it to late seating :teeth:

HI Guys!!!!
Marcij--my boys LOVE ping pong, and basketball, and chip it golf!!!! We will definitely have them get together.
Shanna, we were fortunate enough to the 7 day Christmas cruise this year on the Magic and the changes were wonderful! The spa is truly decadent! Plan to treat yourself and DH to a spa villa!!!! WOW!!! We did the oil and would recommend doing a different treatment. My DH felt that the massage itself was a bit light. He'll go back, but do the stones or something.!
The JumboTron is great! Pirates in the Caribbean after the Pirate party was cool! Just think, Dead Man's Chest opens on July 7th!! We are hoping for double feature!
While some areas looked great, others seemed like they didn't get spruced up as much as they needed...but we still love it!
Great day to everyone!

MrsJobba1-- congrats on booking the Med! I would love to do this, but my kids are a little young to appreciate anything other than a beach....so we'll pass.
We have early seating -- my boys would never last through late seating -- they'd rather go to the club after dinner.

Hey everybody...
Great idea on getting boys together a little early! This will be our 11th DCL cruise...we're junkies! The boys enjoyed the clubs the first few times but they mentioned that you can only make Flubber so many times. They really enjoy basketball! Our youngest...will be 10...also loves to get his dad and head down to Diversions for a game of backgammon! Did you know they got Foosball tables onboard now??? DSs 10 and turning 12 on the ship! Also have a 14 at the time DD...who also lives on the BBALL court.
We prefer the Eastern, but the way our summer schedule worked out we needed the Western. The Eastern to us lets you chill a little be more. We really enjoy our sea days! Crew seems to really like Western. Plus, the people on St. Maarten have really enchanted us!
We are early dining. Anybody else?
See ya

We have the early seating as well, but I'm still debating whether or not to change to the later. We've done early seating everytime and I'm just thinking we might like to try the other to have it be a bit less crowded and see what it's like going to the 1st show.
I'm so excited to hear about the changes on the Magic. I usually do at least a few spa treatments, but I've never managed to get my husband in for any except the surial (sp?) bath on our first cruise. What is this "villa" I'm hearing about? Is it just a new area for couples' treatments? Anything I can take advantage of if dh isn't willing to participate?

Very cute family, Jmatias!
Flo -- your two are handsome, as well....but you have to post a picture of you, too!
Don't be surprised if you see the same outfit on me on this cruise....I've only worn it that one night, and one night in Vegas, plus it's so comfortable so I'm thinking I'll wear it again and get more use out of it....more money for the spa....
jmatias
04-07-2006, 06:53 PM
Marci...no worries about the outfit! It looks great on you and I agree about "more money for the spa" :thumbsup2
What excursions is everyone planning on doing? With our DD (2) it kind of limits our excursions somewhat but I still would like our kids to do something on the Islands besides the beach....since we have a lot of that at home :sunny:

HI Wltdsnyfan,
We live in Peoria. Which Suburb are you in? My brother and sister-in-law are in Naperville, and I have cousins all over up there!!!!
As to July, we will be driving down. We are fortunate enough to have a second home in Windermere and so spend the month of July here! We shoot for as much time as possibe. Someday it will be home, but we really do like the schools and the atmosphere of raising a family in the midwest! Not better or worse than anywhere else, but just know EVERYONE!!! And all of our kids friends families! It is a definite bonus! Not a guarantee things can't go wrong, but at least a help.
By the way, I'm Tiffany. Or Tif...whatever you are comfortable with.
Thanks for the hope for better weather. It was definitely scary!

Hi Flo! How hard is it to have your kids head off to college??? We allowed our daughter-13-to head out to Colorado to ski with her best friend and her family. We had been neighbors for 10 years and think the world of them...but I miss her terribly. Even our sons are having trouble with her gone! We are taking our DD's BF with us on the 7-29-06 cruise!
Where does you son go to school??? What year and what is he studying??
We are planning to make central FL home when all three are in college. If you want to start doing research let me know! We love where we are down here. Out of a lot of traffic, close to the parks, and closer still to golf!
Have a great day!

Hi Tif! Just got home from watching my son play baseball in Madison, WI. It is about a two are ride for us. Next Saturday we are about 3 hours from home. Oh Well!
Mys son is a Sophomore at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). It is near were the Milwaukke Buks play. He is going into Architectural Engineering.
Is it hard when they go to college? For me it was . I only have him. But now when he is home for the summer it is strange.
We will have to talk about research. I know we are going to do it. It does not hurt to find out about it.
Take care

Architectural Engineering! WOW! He wouldn't have any Disney dreams of designing down here, would he??? :thumbsup2 Our 11 year old is our meticulous one and he has had mumblings of getting a degree in Engineering...not decided which kind. That will probably change along the way. The boys are planning on being the first brother team to play on the Ryder Cup team together. One of our dearest friends is getting his MD/doctorate in Biomedical Engineering...takes neurons and creates cell regeneration! YIKES!!!!
Anyway, it is wonderful that you are able to still go to his ball games...and that he wants you there! Best compliment to parenting! Well,

Hi Tif
Libby is a lovely name for your lab - I bet she's cute. Yes I do have 3 dogs ( I know im mad) Sally who is 13 and a bit, Ben (pictured) who is 4 and Floss who is 14 months old (the trouble maker !) Ben competes in a team doing flyball and Floss is in training!
I can't think what I enjoy doing on the ship - chilling mainly. As I've only done short cruises in the past, I am really looking forward to doing the galley tour (if I can get tickets) and spending more time on board!
Dave loves scuba diving - Does anyone else? Sadly I can't because of my back. :sad2: He is hoping to do the 2 tank dive @ Grand Caymen (excursion).
Its nearly time to book - :hourglass
Also Im hoping to get a Palo Brunch & dinner!
Well its late here and Im off to bed - to dream about cruising no doubt ! :rolleyes1

Tif, It is funny you said that about Disney. One of the guys on his floor just transferred there from doing an internship at Disney. He asked Steven if he was intrested and said sure.

Do you have anyone in the dental field??? How did you come up with Floss? My DH, Tom, is a dentist. The kids would have been tickled with that for a name!
As to your back, have you seen a chiropractor at all??? Palmer grads are the best, at least in my book. My dad had been one for almost 4 decades...first chiro in central Illinois to earn hospital privileges! Anyway, I don't try to convert...but I do encourage you to see one if you haven't already! And the best thing for you is to DO EVERYTHING YOUR DOC TELLS YOU!!! Well, within reason  I hope it will be okay for you on the cruises. If you do have any problems definitely talk with the gals and guys up in the spa and see if they can get you through. Some days I think they work actual miracles up there!!!!!!
