Awol......That picture! Is he really sleeping against the wall? Adorable. The kids get SO tired after all the sun and fun. I have a similiar picture of Cameron sleeping on Craig's shoulder on the last night during "Until We Meet Again". I only have pictures of Olivia from that night. My favorite is of her, the "ugly" stepsisters, and Franco. It's framed in her room. I wish I knew how to post pictures!
I am sure you will all be terribly jealous. I just got to sit through an exciting 40 minute beauty pageant of 11 Fashion Plate cut out dolls in "swim wear","sports wear", and "formal wear". I was honored to be one of the judges. It was a great upset when Miss swim wear blue & red bathing suit took first over Miss formal wear silver sparkly dress. She nearly "tore" her head off..... :rotfl2: , paper dolls??!!! O.K. I'm a little off tonight. I think I need a Dairy Queen blizzard..."Craaaiiigggg"

Yep, he fell asleep right there. He got ticked off at me for something and sat down and cried for about 3 seconds and fell asleep. We were laughing pretty hard when we realized he was really asleep.
As for posting pics, it's pretty easy. Assuming your camera is digital and the pictures are already on your PC, all you have to do is upload them somewhere on the internet. You can use photobucket.com or The DIS photo gallery (http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/index.php). You'll log in there, click on the upload photos button and follow the instructions. When you are done, you'll have a URL that you can use to post the picture (something like http://someplace.com/path/picturename.jpg). Once you have the URL, you can just copy it onto the clipboard and either paste it in between and or use the little picture tool above the edit box when you are posting. POC (Piece of Cake this time). BUT, DO NOT TRY THIS AFTER A PAPER DOLL FASHION SHOW!! lol

Are you copying the URL from photobucket and pasting it into your post, between the and tags?

Photobucket gives you three little edit boxes under your photo which are labled, "URL", "Tag", and "Img" respectively. If you copy the contents of the "Img" box and paste it into your post, you will have succeeded. That's all there is to it.

Good Cruise news!!! I just found out that the week of our cruise is a 3 day school week for my kids.....instead of pulling them out for 5 days they will only miss 3 days! They are bummed :rotfl2: , but that is so much easier in the long run.
We also bought our airfare for the way down on Southwest for $44 each person. We have to fly into Tampa not Orlando but when there is 11 of us the savings is huge. Now if they would just release the November fares so we can plan our trip home.
Have a great day everyone..

In photobucket, there is an "Edit" button. Click on that and you can resize the picture there. But, I like big pictures (and have a 22" monitor) ;)

So, how are you getting from Tampa to Orlando? How long does it take? And since you're flying southwest, you are obviously going to refuse to go home - like me! Well, at least until southworst releases their schedule past 10/27...

Princess Olivia,
That's great. But, I have a 22" monitor and those pictures are a little too small ;)
Sometimes when you resize the pictures, it appears that it doesn't work because your web browser will cache the file and display the picture from before you've resized it. Usually hitting F5 or Ctrl-F5 will force the browser to reload the picture - or you can right-click on the picture and select "reload image".
Awol - you beat me to it again, I have to work on my typing skills :teeth:

Awol,
Thank you again for the help. I will try it again soon. 22" monitor, very cool. We are getting a new desk and we've been talking about replacing the monitor so it doesn't look lost. Any suggestions?
Also, anyone know if there is a camcorder that records directly to regular size dvd and can go right from camera to dvd player? If there isn't one yet, why?
buckifan
06-30-2006, 05:01 PM
Yeah Jen! The pix are great!
We just bought a new dvd camcorder that records right to dvd's that go directly into the dvd player. They are the smaller size dvd's, though. But, that helps keep the size of the camera very small. It is no bigger that our digital camera in fact. We will be bringing it with us on the cruise.
We just returned from my sister's house, and what is usually a 20 min trip home took us 90 min! They had the expressway closed down because the president is in town for a fundraiser. So all of the main roads were blocked off. UGH! I hate traffic.
Does everyone have their flags out? Happy 4th!
Princess Olivia
06-30-2006, 06:16 PM
D -He must have gone directly to Ohio from Graceland where he took Elvis's "#1 fan" Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi for a visit. Did you see that on the news tonight?
How much time does the smaller dvd allow you to record? I'd really like to get one before the cruise. How are the kids? Any big plans for the fourth? We live about 20 minutes away from Plymouth (Mayflower, rock, pilgrims). They always have a huge independence day celebration. The kids love it....... O.K. I'm a sucker for a parade. Nothing beats a disney parade!

So, how are you getting from Tampa to Orlando? How long does it take? And since you're flying southwest, you are obviously going to refuse to go home - like me! Well, at least until southworst releases their schedule past 10/27...
We rent a 15 passenger van from airport to port. We will just drive from Tampa to the port. We actually just did from Sarasota-Orlando-Cape Canaveral last week and I believe total it took about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Due to hurricane Jeanne (2004) we have extensive knowledge of the Florida interstate system and we are not afraid to use it!
Yes AWOL I have vacation issues so I figure we will just not come home if the dates are never released! Think work will understand that? I am certain they already have enough to say about my scheduled vacations. We did just purchase the one way fare and are waiting for the other. Hope they do come out because that 15 passenger van is only fun for so long you know!
Hope everyone has a great holiday.

The discs record for 20min on extra fine, 30min on fine, 60min on standard. We haven't even used it yet, so I'll let you know what the quality is like on each when we try it out.

1) Spring ... but in SoCal we really don't see much seasonal variation
2) As a player: Golf (though I'm a hack)
3) I'll say Vanilla Fudge marble Root Beer floats
4) Rasberry Iced tea - the kind you get from Costco with a Hot Polish Dog
5) Freshly baked Chcolate Chip cookies
6) Harrison Ford/Jeri Ryan
7) Chocolate
8) Hugs
9) Sing (no karaoke, just privately in the car for the most part)
10) depends... so I'll say dance (under the right circumstances-photo attached below)
11) Catalina Island Jazz Trax Festival (you could say we subscribe)
12) Over the Hedge (actually - I saw "A Good Year" in a advance private sneak preview - does this count?)
13) Lexus
14) tough to say... I usually don't seriously think in terms of "quotations" being memorably inspiring... so, off hand I'll offer ... "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..." :darth:
And... I'd like to tack on a 15th question....
What is your favorite hobby / passion / pastime?
My answer would be "photograph the kids and family" :surfweb:

Awol,
Thank you again for the help.
You are welcome. Well, actually it's 2 22" monitors and one 20" widescreen at work. And it's really cool. I'm sorry I don't really have a good handle on monitors at the moment. Things change SOOO fast and it's very difficult to keep up and still have a life left! At work, we have all sorts of stuff. I liked the Planar flat panels we were getting, but the new widescreen Dell ones we have are really cool. However, the 20" widescreen Dell I have at work isn't quite as sharp as I would like. You're best bet is to go to a store and look at the monitors and buy the one that looks the best and fits your budget.
The camcorder conversation cracks me up. I lugged my old 8mm down to the school to record DD's summer school play (Little Mermaid) - Choc_marg was in Orlando. I felt like I was toting a big rock tablet and chisel. It's probably about time for us to upgrade, too.
We rent a 15 passenger van from airport to port. We will just drive from Tampa to the port. Well, you can always park that van down by the river. Just watch out for gators! I'm sure the fares will be out in the next week or two and we'll be forced to schedule a trip back home :(

Heather- your family looks great. When Kristin first said medieval times I was thinking of something else. In Carver Ma every August/September they have "King Richard's fair". I don't like to go. There is no silverware so everyone eats all this messy food outside with their hands. It's always hot and crowded with people dressed in full costume (visitors included). Lots of people do love it!
We also have the Medieval Manner in Boston. I think this more like what you did. It's an interactive dinner show. The only reason I don't go is because the "court jesters" or the "King" can call you up or out or can choose any manner to embarrass you in front of the "court". I'm just not brave enough. I even sit in the back at comedy shows. Can you say wimp? Sometimes that can be me! I'm glad you had fun. The picture is really cute.

The show was the best! We took Timmy with us and he had a blast. Tim is really into music, so we go to several concerts a year (most he gets free from work as they sponsor a local venue) and I have to say this was one of the best concerts I ever attended! We have seen them once before and they were great both times. It amazes me that after all these years they can still hit those notes!

It was like a interactive dinner show. You have a knight to cheer for. They do all sorts of sword fighting and jousting. It was really neat. Contrary to the look on Jacob's face, the kids both had a great time. Jacob keeps asking to go back again!

Well... my caption did say "worlds greatest Mom!"... and she is wacked with a fever and sinus pain since wednesday. SO - I did show her and she gave me a sweet smile... no kiss...or hug. Nothing. Just the smile. I guess that is what happens after 22.5 years with your "best friend". I had been hoping for a little more of a reaction...
And no - as far as I know she almost never reads this thread... as if she did she would probably have stern words for me when she notices I was well over a thousand postings....!!!!! Plus more then a few hundred on this thread alone. PLUS she knows about my other wandering internet interests elsewhere on the web! I have a passion for phtography - so I'm always looking at things about photgraphy - computer processing techniques - equipment test reports and such .... plus ebay browsing. HECK... what else can I do when it's late at nite or in the early morning with everyone asleep and not in their offices????

Hey... I missed that ... we've been to some of their concets --- I had not noticed that they were still touring. I should look up their concert tour schedule! And this quote is from Wickipedia:
Depeche Mode is an electronic music band from the town of Basildon, England, founded in 1980. They have been one of the longest-lived and most successful bands to have emerged during the New Wave and New Romantic era, though they are more akin to what was known as the 'Futurist' scene; many of their videos have been heavily rotated on MTV. As of 2006, it is estimated that Depeche Mode has sold over 72 million albums worldwide. They have influenced many of today's popular recording artists, in part due to their innovative work, recording techniques and use of sampling. In their home country, the UK, they are still thought of by some as an "Eighties band". Though massively influential in the modern electronic dance scene, they remain in the alternative genre.
The three current members of Depeche Mode are:
Martin Gore (primary songwriting, vocals, guitars, keyboards)
David Gahan (lead vocals, recent songwriting)
Andrew Fletcher (keyboards)
Former members include:
Alan Wilder (production, keyboards, drums, vocals, occasional songwriting) from 1982 to 1995.
Vince Clarke (primary songwriting, keyboards), from 1980 to 1981.
And.... I thought that was pretty entertaining ... a collector of hobbies... I wish that were MY state of mind sometimes....
15) What is your favorite hobby / passion / pastime? I'm a collector. I collect hobbies
Maybe I should follow your lead and start on collecting more hobbies??? I figure I'll live a little longer if I can take your approach to a favorite pastime with your hobbies!!!! :thumbsup2
AND on another note - my DD participitated in her first swim meet yesterday. She came in dead last in one event against the 6 year olds 2nd to last in the other event she swam in against the 6 year olds. It seems all of the 5 year olds in the other heats also came in dead last. It's tough I guess as the 5 year olds have had 2 weeks of training and lessons while the6 year olds have had a whole season plus 20% greater age for size and strength. Sigh... So I was sooo happy to have just seen her make it across without stopping and emerging in great competitive spirits. She was totally unconcerned about how she placed. I'm so happy with how it turned out! :)
AND last nite... she developed a fever. Today she had it continue. SO - my spouse is guarded about my taking her to the Anime Expo tomorrow. We have an award ribbon presentation for her doing the race (fever or none) and then I'm planning on doping her with Ibuprofen and taking her to the Anime convention ... in full costume. So far - Alicia is just sort of looking at me over this with a wary level stare and warning me not to let her over exert herself. I think I'm being a nut about this.
So - we'll soon see if my actions were a huge mistake - or I give in and NOT go - as I cannot go without her as she was so looking forward to going in her costume - it would be sort of unfair for me to go without her.
Sigh.... TTFN!

I read today that Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D will be premiering Oct 20th. They should be showing that on our criuise too, right? While I know some small kids will be frightened of this movie, my DS will love to see it on the ship!
So, we'll be going from The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is really a Halloween movie, to The Santa Clause 3 premiere, an ACTUAL Christmas movie all in one 7 night voyage!

Well....
I survived the Anime/Cosplay event. At the last minute Alicia agreed to go with us - Julianna had no fever this morning... and we all piled into the minivan and headed south. Once there - BOTH of my little girls went with me - however the plan was actually for one child to go with each parent and my spouse was going shopping while I ran aroiund taking pictures while in costume at my "cartoon expo" - and that made it impossible for me to do much while wrangling 2 kids on my own - So I was going to push the 2 kids up, buy tickets - return the younger one to Alicia and go back in with the older one dressed in our costumes ... but that did not happen.
We ended up wandering the Convention lobby, adjoining Hilton lobby and the courtyard in between these buildings. There were 10,000+ people (many in costume) wandering around. Most costumes were not all that fancy - while many were rather exotic - and 99% I could not name which movies they came from. There were also tons of fans taking photos - with a large number of serious looking photographers like myself. And it readily became obvious I did NOT want my costumed self to be photographed by 100s of photographers and randomly posted all over the internet... So I never dressed up. Julianna however had her knight outfit on.
So .... the up side is we just visited outside the event where EVERYONE in Cosplay costume was posing for 100s of photographers. There was sufficient activity to satisfy my curiosity outside the event- and the price was right... F-R-E-E! I applied the $50+ we saved in Expo passes towards dinner and some groceries! THE DOWNSIDE ... is I did not go in and see it all. If I paid to enter I would not have lasted long with the 2 kids alone. Nor would I have shot as much as I wanted the WAY I wanted to. Normally I don't like to rush my shots much - but I sort of had to as I was trying to keep an eye on the 2 kids and any strange looking stranger who got within 5' of my kids. There were plenty of strange strangers there today - plus a majority of kind souls who offerred compliments on my bring the young ones to their event! I explained to all that the older daughter is a REAL fan in the making!!!! And she usually affirmed it with an appropriatly entertaining remark!
So the kids had great fun - more so Julianna then Kalea. We stayed about 90 minutes and I only shot approximately 106 photos. Maybe 40% were keepers. Normally I might have stayed 3-4 hours and shot a lot more - but this is OK. Having spent less time at the event - the kids were in good shape and we had a nice dinner .... and my dear spouse got to visit a few places and power-shop a bit. She came home with 2 huge bags and a serene smile on her face. Some of the sales were evidently "good".
So - I'll post select images from today ... tomorrow. And for today I have a few images from yesterday .... her first leap into competitive swimming!!!!
http://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/F5/AB/0E/iF5AB0E1E-9E3F-430A-9C4F-A66BFEA94A59.jpghttp://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/CE/40/EE/iCE40EE98-2D46-4777-95C3-00002291F324.jpg

So here she is with her 1st award ribbons... YA-HOOOOoooo! We got 10th place. I'm not sure there were even 10 swimmers in each event for the 4-5 year olds! So we'll just skip talking about that part with her... Anyone recall seeing the movie Meet the Fokers? And the shrine to mediocrity? Well - we're starting here with these 10th place ribbons till better ones come along!!!!

Deanna- We saw Superman Returns as well. LOVED IT!! Kids loved it! After this movie you could say I'm a BIG superman fan. He (the new superman) is exceptionally dreamy.
We are putting in the hardwood floors Monday. That means all the furniture has to go and all closet floors cleaned out. The kids are not happy. Neither am I. I will be glad when it's all done!

Kristin- not much planning going on today, we've got a major kick ball game going on right now with lots of neighborhood kids. It's a gorgeous day today. High of 80, SUNNY & very low humidity....perfect!
Jen- We'll definitely have to check out Superman. Drew is really into superhero movies still. He and Rob went to go see X-Men recently. I passed on that one, but they both really enjoyed it.
What kind of hardwood floors are you having installed? We have a light oak in our entry/kitchen/hall areas. We've had them for about 6 years now, and I really love them. Feels so warm and "homey", and clean up well.

My wife, Kim, is a cruise veteran and this will be my second cruise  (first was our honeymoon). We have four children: Patrick (10), Rebekah (8, going on 9 at end of cruise), Colin (6, 7 at cruise) and Ainsley (4, 5 at cruise).
We will also have additional family with us. Kim's parents including her father who is just turning 60 in August and her Mom. There will also be one of her brothers and her sister.
We will be spending the week before the cruise in Orlando at our timeshare condos. Most of that time will be with my family who is flying in to do the Disney and Sea World thing as well as celebrate some family birthdays.
This has certainly been an active thread and I am glad I found it for the opportunity to meet some people before the trip.

Welcome aboard our crazy little sailing Maureen! I noticed our poll vote tally recently grew to 68... that must have been your contribution. I have daughters ages 2+10 months and 5+7 months... so maybe our older girl can send a couple PM emails to your boys. And ... by any chance was it my posting that invited you over??? I didn't check you posting histoy - but I've left a number of Halloween query invites over the past few weeks. :confused3
I have been so swamped lately - everyone is getting sick at my home these past few days. The only one with no symptoms has been me. This morning the young one woke with 103 in both ears and was charmingly delerious. She was plainly declaring "I sick!!.... I want medicine!.... strawberry pleeeeezzzze". But covering for the differing needs of everyone has been a real juggling act. As I was carrying in one of the kids from the car who was asleep - I commented to my spouse I really love being a Dad with a family. I drew a warm knowing smile from her. SO... Tonite I managed to slip away for a bit - (mens fellowship thing and maybe a quasi bible study - OK - maybe it's the other way around but ends up being a thing where we soend half the time just chatting about whats up with one another)... so I got a little relaxing in tonight.
Anyways - I hope to catch up on a lot of "loose ends" in the next couple of days as my spouse is out of town next week for a training gig again (Sunday to wednesday)... there goes next week for me - shifting back into "neutral".
Boy... pretty soon I'm gonna have to take a look at the Palo schedule - and the shore excursions the gang is considering. Usually - my spouse and I are pretty casual about the ports - rent a car and wander about to find things out of the ordnary. Or to just mozy about at a slower pace. It alomst sounds like this is shaping up into a BUSY voyage! :thumbsup2
Cheers!
And..... HAPPY LATE B-Day Choc-Marge!!!!

Welcome to our new posters, and happy birthday to you, Choc_Marg. I'll bet you celebrated with a nice big Margarita, right?
I FINALLY got around to ordering my new Passporter's. Does anyone already have the new edition? I'm so excited to read it.
So, is anyone else going to POC2 today? My ds wants to see it sooooo bad, but he decided to wait to see it when we celebrate his birthday in a couple of weeks. Not sure if he'll make it when he starts hearing reviews of it.

Happy Belated Birthday
Welcome to our new posters, and happy birthday to you, Choc_Marg. I'll bet you celebrated with a nice big Margarita, right?
Thanks everyone!!! I was out of town the week before my Bday & I definitely celebrated with a few margaritas that week, so I took it easy when the actual day came along! Not sure why though. I actually like the date of my Bday. I can do all sorts of celebrating & never have to worry about having to recover for work the next day. My Bday is 7/3 & 7/4 is always a holiday :)
IS cody oK??? He's doing better. He had surgery at the beginning of June & was in the hospital for a week. He's been home recouperating. He had bladder surgery & so he's had 2 drainage tubes in his bladder so that any urine that is produced drains right out into a couple of bags. Hopefully, we'll get the tubes out next week & then we start teaching him how to run a catheter through his stoma so he can empty his bladder. It has been a long summer already. Just about the time we get used to the catheter, it will be time for school to start!

So, is the new one that much different than the last edition?? We got the last one before we sailed last year. I wasn't planning on getting the new one since it didn't seem like it could have very much new info. What do you guys think??

Cody really wants to see it too. He's just 5 though. I think we'll wait for everyone else's reviews first. Then I'll let AWOL take him if it passes the 5-year old test.
What's on everyone's agenda this weekend?? Not much for us. Just a little trip planning meeting tonight & a mostly free rest of the weekend. Samantha has been wanting to learn how to sew, so I might take her to the fabric store & let her pick some fabric for a beginner pillow.... Hope I have the patience for that :)
Happy weekend everyone!!

I would not say that there was anything earthshaking that you could not get off the websites. We will only bring one book wiht us and Kim wanted the deluxe organizer so $20 was a cheap investment.
We have not told the kids yet because their grandfather (Don) will be turning 60 and this whole thing is a BIG surprise. They will probably find out in October and I plan on giving the third edition a new life in the hands of my older two children as they conduct "research" excercises! Since they will be missing a total of two weeks of school, they will have some homework to get done and I am hoping that we can tie some of the science and history into the stuff that they will see this trip in Orlando (Hello EPCOT!) and all the new stuff on the cruise.

Oh, that poor baby......I hate to hear about little ones going through things like that. Now, did the surgery take care of the problem? Is he going to need any follow up procedures? Sounds like he's being very brave. I'll pray for his speedy recovery.

Thanks! We don't really know yet if he is "fixed" For some unknown reason, his bladder never learned how to communicate with his brain, so his urine would back up into his kidneys & that was starting to create problems. You'd never know there was anything wrong. He's been potty trained since he turned 3, but he has been holding 3 times what someone his age should hold. So, at the beginning of June, he went in for bladder surgery. The docs took part of his bowel to make his bladder bigger, then they took his appendix & created a channel from his bladder to the stoma on his belly. Once the tubes are out, we start to run a catheter through that stoma every few hours to empty his bladder. His doc says that he can still be active & play sports, he just has to make sure & empty his bladder before playing so taht he doesn't rupture the bladder.
It has been a rough few weeks. As a parent, you want your kids to be perfect & healthy. YOu wish you could trade places with him, but he's been amazing about it. He says he's actually excited to pee through a tube!
Thanks so much for your extra prayers! We'll take them!!

Thanks for the insight! We'll just go with what we know :) We were on the Magic last year fairly soon after the dry dock, so we've seen the structural changes that would be reflected in the Passporter anyway :)
Cute idea to have the kids participate in "research" My older one likes to help out too! Last year we got a state postcard from each of the DISers in our group. The kids & I spent some time after we got back finding each of our new friends on a US map. They still remember some of the states as the one "Elizabeth & Natalie live in" or the one "Sterling lives in", etc.

So - my new lense is sharp and problem free. I'm a happy camper so far. I'm still checking it for functional performance... and so far it is fine.

Hi, We are booked on the Halloween cruise as well. This is our second time on the Magic. Will be traveling with dh, and dd's 11 and 7. DD 11 would love to meet someone ahead of time and perhaps email so she will not be as shy. What will we expect on a Halloween cruise??? Thanks.

I saw from your post on the main boards that you last sailed a western about 4 years ago? There are a few changes on the ship that you will notice! Starting with the Dumbotron over the goofy pool. Scoops is gone in favor of a self serve ice cream machine. I'm sure there is more... I don't think you or your dd's will be disappointed. How can you beat 80 degrees in Oct/Nov, some beaches, shopping, an ice cold drink, and lobster night? ;)
Thanks for getting us back on our rightful page AWOL! :smooth:

:wave2: Hi! My husband and I have a question hopefully you veteran Disney Crusiers can answer for us. This is our first Disney cruise, however we have been on numerous cruises. We are use to the formal night being that, formal - either dark suit or tux. However, I have read conflicting information on this board. What is the norm, if there is one?
Thanks,

Nancy,
I have only been on one cruise, so I'm a veteran by the slimest of margins...
I didn't feel uncomfortable in my (el cheapo) tux. BUT, I wouldn't have felt uncomfortable if I had been wearing slacks and dress shirt either. There was such a range that I don't think anybody would feel out of place. I am NOT a dressy person. Heck, I wear shorts and a T-shirt to work. I just felt like for my first cruise I would do it the "traditional" way. And since I bought the "el cheapo" tux, I'll probably haul it along this time too. My advice is don't stress over it and dress how YOU and your DH would be most comfortable. Oh, and avoid reading the "dress code" threads on the main board! You'll just get the extremist view from that. And remember it is YOUR cruise too and it just doesn't matter what they think! ;)

NOW....
AND sjcubedofct,
May I volunteer a few (say 3) designs for our little pirate band to consider for the T-shirt designs? I am considered by some to be a bit creative and maybe even a fair freehand artist... so if you'll all allow me a week or two to come up with some concepts... I'll photo graph them and post a photo link... (I'm low tech) ... unless someone emails me then I'll send the oringinal doc.
May I ask whether it's OK to work in more than one color. As it gets a lot more fun with two or more colors. I don't think we need to make it a precise 4 color process thing... but I had in mind a graphic kind of thing. ALSO... I will entertain any suggestions on design ideas from ANYONE (Not that I'd take anyones' suggestions... LOL) .... plus I'll tolerate criticism from the peanut gallery once the images are available for folks to consider here. AND... I'll be happy to share in the design submissions with anyone else who would like to contribute concepts. In the end a brief voting period on the final 3 conceots seems tolerable and democratic to me.
SO may I ask... are we talking plain T-shirts? Will there be a pocket option on the shirts? Or how abount the potential of having the T-shirts start out as a certain color? I happen to be partial to royal blue (shades of blue) or possibly even a ??? a black T-shirt so we can work in orange and green colors for the Halloween theme? AND... for another Q... are we talkin' about Ts for just the kids or is it we can request T shirts / shirts for adults or who ever asks (and pays) for them? I do have some spare change and I would probably like the pocket option and I do prefer quality in the T-shirt material!
So... while we're at it ... shall be adopt a nick-name for our little band of Magic maniacs? Oh... well now... how do you like that for a nick name for our little band... "The Magic Maniacs"... or how about "The Magic DIS Maniacs".... or maybe we should just stick with no nick name and keep and verbage to something like "Sailing on the Disney Magic ~ St Thomas, St Maarten, Castaway Caye" followed along below the graphic design at the bottom a caption like " The Fabled <or "scarey"> 2006 Haunted Sailing ~ October 28-November 4th".
OR... we might have a halloween pirate themed design with a parchment look..... and perhaps a treasure map... or maybe ??? Or maybe I think I need a few days to sketch a few concepts then I might aire out some ideas before I committ any serious effort to a final finished graphic.
I also need to know what format your sister needs this in order to reporduce it sjcubedofct. SO.... just let me know... or if it is easier just private message me her contact number and I'll call and get the info straight from her - which might be easier for YOU then to hand it off to me here. :hyper2:
OK... enuf of that...

Note, the grey lettering at the bottom is a private note to myself on the type face I used. Also, you may note a slight mismatch onthe BLACK and GREY fields where I spliced in the "DIS" and "2006". On a final image for the printer I will get the colors to match closer (maybe) so you can't see the splicing lines. :artist:

The norm is NO tux for most folks IMHO. However, my family now packs 2 tuxes for formal and the semi-formal nites (black tux and white dinner jacket). Plus we pack semi-matched pirate costumes. AND since this is our 1st Halloween voyage - we're also packing moderately sophisticated costumes (if my spouse lets me bring the whole shea-bang!). Oh yeah... we also bring clothes to wear when we're NOT in costume too ... plus diapers for the kids. FOr toothbrushes and underwear we just go 'round knocking on cabins till we can borrow some from someone else... :lmao:
Oh well... here's a pix of me in one of the tuxes...

Hi Torontodisney,
Welcome aboard. I am traveling with four children and the two oldest are around the ages of your kids. We are keeping the trip a surprise right now but I am sure that my daughter Rebekah (9 on the trip) and Patrick (10) would enjoy meeting your older daughter while Colin (7 by the trip) will be enjoying meeting some friends.
The trip is a surprise for my father in law who is having a BIG birthday. My DW and mother in law are afraid that the kids will spoil the surprise so we are not telling them until the end of August. At that point we could exchange emails for the kids.
We will be in Orlando with my family the entire week before the cruise doing the Disney thing. Depending how the schedules fall, I mentioned to Kristin about having a get together at our resort. We could keep it simple and bring in some pizzas and stuff. We have a timeshare condo in Lake Buena Vista.

nschnoor.....Formal night a suit is fine and semi-formal night you will see more casual dress then dress up. We always schedule our PALO for formal night because wearing a suit once on a cruise is enough for me.
Captain.....great designs. Where are you thinking the design will go? Full size on the back or pocket size on the front? On our last cruise we had a pocket size design on the front and the itenerary was listed on the back.

Capt, love the desgins, but I am worried that the women and girls will not wear the design. My boys will love them. Could you also come up with a general beach/cruise design or general halloween/pumpkin just as another option? You are very talented and I would love to see what else you can come up with!

Since there has been some talk about the t-shirts again. I thought I would bring up something I found from another thread. There is a company that has made rubber neon green bracelets for other dis cruisers. I have spoken to the company, and they advised that they could not put a mickey image on the bracelet, but gave me some ideas of what they could do. Here is a picture from the other thread showing how thier bracelets turned out. Along with the image the rep suggested. The rep said we could do something similar, but add an image or two, The cost including shipping would be about $2.25 a bracelet. If anyone is interested, let me know. We can order them anytime up until the End of Sept.

We are making up t-shirts for all of the kids coming to Drew's "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed birthday party, and they will wear them to the movie. We are doing the same Calico Jack Rackham flag design on them. I think they look cool, but Heather has a good point about them being more appealing to men/boys. I love the bracelets, and would definitely like to order those!

Let me dream up some stuff less scary or "hostile" looking. No sweat.
How about this - it's a quick and rough concept.... (very rough... free hand edited with paint)

I would normally be more careful to get the head shape and scale ito better balance. I just sort of "slashed" it up with a spray paint tool. I think this can be refined considerably.
I have another idea too (of course)... how about a Mickey face as above but a huge fork and knife instead? AND... I sort of wanted to get "DIS" into the flag - but now the ears a little small.... I guess I could still put it on Mickeys' forehead.... or I could enlarge the flag... shift the Micky and crossed sword/bone up and create black space at bottom to add an area for more language. How about... "Yo Ho - a Pirates Life iz grand!"...., "Surrender your Booty", .... or ....."Ahoy there - DIS Mates!" .... Or "Hand over ya' Loot to yer DIS Mates!!!" ... or simply ... "Hand over yer Loot!!". Heck, with latter declaration your T-shirt just might PAY for itself one even in a dark passageway on the ship!
OK... here it is... another idea....

Dave:
I would say the Pirate Flag design should go full size on the front or back. And if it's on the back then we could have a simple design on the front pocket like one of these AND remove the sailing date from the big design on the back - and keep in mind we can change the type face and colors any way we desire (well - that might present more of a problem than benefit... :confused3 ):

Frankly, I'd like to put something on the sleeves!!! And then have wings sewn on to the back ... and maybe a tail tacked onto the waist!!! But then again - I'm the nut whos' packing the costumes, pirate outfits, 2 tuxes and diapers for the week! Plus a half flat of bottled water if my spouse gets her way - as she always does!!!
And GDAC.....
... hold off on the votes till we finish all the concepts - or - allow other folks to express their interests/concepts/ and most importantly... criticisms. I do welcome them all. We can make this an evolving community effort... to a point. ;)
And then we'll take votes!!!!
Heres' another variation of #4..... it looks more like a flag this way...

We can put it to a vote or post a POLL to see what folks what as a saying (if any) once we settle on a design!
And as for what color shirt - well - it can be any that the shirt maker has for cheap (with reasonable quality - no Pakistani made t-shirts, please). Beef-T fruit of the Loom sounds fair to me - and I like the idea of a pocket - but then again - everyone is gonna have an opinion. A vote would end all discussion.
SO - colors... I can change the colors pretty easily - and it is up to the silk screener to match it (or come close). And if we were to stick with the Halloween orange on black - I was thinking we could select from either a red shirt - or even a purple one - keeping it in line with a pirate-like theme in light of the POTC 2 theme.
And for the record - I was trying to hand draw some designs but it is very hard to do so and get good results. I had wanted to have a 3/4 view of a carribean map with a [peter Pan ala HOOK sailing ship floating over it with some clouds. But heck - if I could really whip up a good drawing like that in a day then I would not be working in finance and "business politics" for a living. I may still get a nice hand drawn center-piece drawing - ink pen style by hand - not graphics from the web like what I've done so far. I might add that I think the final image we vote on and use will have to be CLEANED up and SHARPENED to suit my tastes. These are usable as is - but they can use some refinement as yet. These are concept creations that are probably nominally usable.
More varied ideas to come. I am side lined for the rest of today as I am racking my brins and combing through the house for some free flight airline certificates that have to be sent off tomorrow. They were not in the fireproof fileing cabinet where they were suposed to be - and my spouse and I are uncertain of their last placement. I'm mildly agitated - and about to call AA to ask for an extension if they'll grant it. In fact - I'm calling them now.

Now that we have some designs in from Tom..which are very creative and wonderful...
Tom suggested to me that we open the t-shirt designing up to everyone and if anyone else has a design that they would like to post feel free...By the end of the weekend (Sunday) we will take all of the designs and put them onto our halloween web site and then we will cast votes as to our favorites and then we can begin the ordering process. The company we are thinking about going with you will be able to choose the type of shirt, via a sweatshirt, polo shirt, tank top etc. and then we will have our design put on it..YOu will order directly from them and pay them directly..then you can have your shirts deliverd right to you...
The bracelets we will have to place one group order which will be a min. of 20 of each size.. We will also have those on the web site by monday..
So lets get out our creativity and see some more designs....Bring them on..the more the merrier....Please note that the company we are ordering from will not let us use images of mickey but we can use images of the boat.

Please send a picture of your family to be included. This way we will be able to reconize all of you...

Capt- I got your PM.....that looked really cool, what you did with Drew's drawing. I'm going to print one off and show him. You should post what you did here.....
I sent the modified images privately as I did not know how you would react to my modest creative additions. I thought the drawings were wonderful freehand drawings - but difficult to make out as the lines were thin. SO I doubled the outlines and drew an oval behind it - and filled the oval to make the drawing stand out. It's ust a simple idea - and you don't want to know how long it took me to do accurately. It was not that fast because I am not really all that smart of practiced at doing this.
Here are the modified images - I envisioned maybe using these as pocket imprint transfers with some lettering above or below - likes sailing dates or somethin like that.

The 3rd image at the right will be impossible to reproduce with =out employing an expensive 3 or 4 color process with sharp alignment of the colors. So we will not be considering that .
Gotta go feed the kids....
TTFN
And K - I just got your message - I was out all day - check your email.
Edited in Thursday: Thought I'd just add here as opposed to adding another entry. I emailed a bunch to ya K. Check it out!
AND... anyone else notice we're up to 74 votes on the poll now? OK... who was it? I can't tell anymore? So - step forward please and introduce yourself!!!!

I have also been busy. I am planning a suprise birthday party for Rick Saturday. I have been cleaning the pool, grill, mowing the lawn, and cleaning the house. Tomorrow I have to bake 2 cakes. One he will get Sat early, one for the party. I am keeping things simple. Hotdogs, chips, corn on the cob, cake and ice cream.
Hope everyone had a great day!!!

Hello Everyone! We have just booked our first cruise ever. We are excited to join all of you on the Halloween Cruise on the 28th. We are flying into Orlando on the 27th and staying the night in Cocoa Beach. I am so glad to find this thread. We are bringing our 5 year old daughter but our 19m old is staying home with Grandma :guilty: . Is there any other info needed? Anyone else staying in Cocoa Beach the night before?
Welcome aboard Pumpkinlove13! We also have a 5.75 year old daughter coming aboard as well! I don't know how far backwards you may have read - but we have lots of good lclean fun planned to top off the cruise! You're sooo lucky to be starting out on Disney for your 1st cruise. My spouse and I started out on a 1 day cruise to Mexico! She got sea sick on the way back!! BUt even so we had a great time way back then!
We also are flying in on the evening of the 27th. Since we're coming in from from Los Angeles (LAX) we can't get in very early without taking a red eye. And we don't do those anymore with the kids. SO - we are not sure where we'll stay yet - we sort of are happy go lucky sorts in some matters - so we're ikely to just stay at the airport and hotwire the digs. Just as we have done on our other visits into Orlando.
:rockband: :welcome: :rockband:
SO = once again - a harty welcome sings out from the West Coast echoing after your self introduction!!!!!

Teri,
Please wish Rick a Happy Birthday on Saturday, from all of us! What day is his actual birthday? Rob's (my dh) is Sunday, and we are planning to go out to dinner to celebrate. Hope you have a nice day for your party.
Welcome to all new posters!
Thank you to everyone that complimented Drew's drawings. And Capt....he loved what you did with the Elizabeth sketch. Drawing is really his passion in life. He doesn't go anywhere without his sketch pad and pencil. Maybe he'll be working for Disney one day!

Welcome to our new cruisers!! The group is really growing. IIRC, this is about the time I found our last cruise meets thread.
This afternoon we go back to the doc to get Cody's last drainage tube removed (we got the first one out on Wed). Then we learn how to run the catheter. Yippee!!! Of course we are havign to appeal our insurance because they won't cover the catheters. Our policy just doesn't have that coverage. UGH!
Happy Friday to all! I'll try to check in this weekend to give a Cody update & see what all the Bday boys are up to!

Guess that means we better part with our money and pay off our balance in the next few days.

You are right. But the romance package folks also get to book at 105 days. Also, there will be plenty of space left for us poor folks. Disney doesn't release everything - in fact, they hold some back for 1st time cruisers too. And we can also try to reschedule when we get on the boat! No worries, but I'll still be up at 3:00am EDT to schedule ours ;)
It's about time for repeat cruisers to pay up! 2 weeks to 90 days!
Very glad to hear that GDAC & LeRue didn't book me on that crazy banana boat!

Love the designs! However the company we are using will not allow us to use the Disney name, logo, or Characters. We can use an image that resembles a character, but not the actual character like Pooh. It is a shame, because we could come up with so many more designs, but the company will refuse to print the shirts. Capt, is it possible to rework your beautiful designs without the Disney name, logo and characters? I realy look forward to see what you come up with. We have so many great designs to choose from!

Great idea Larue! Love the cake! Maybe we could have two designs and everyone can pick what they want. The company we are using will allow you to use multiple designs and make several differnet kinds of shirts. We can have tank tops, sweatshirts, Polo shirts and much more!

Hi everyone! Been out of the loop for a week. No computer (or furniture, fridge, stove, etc...) BUT the floors look beautiful!
Honestly, all the designs are fabulous from all of you very talented people. D-
Drews drawings with Crash's additions are very cool!
Heather, I LOVE the first option with the ship lit up at night and would love to get a bunch of things with this picture. Nice job.
Loved POC 2! A little bit violent and long but really loved it. Can't wait for #3!!

I'm all worn out from making t-shirt designs.
Maybe I'll come up with one more series - but probably not. I'm considering taking my 5.5 year old daughter to see POC2... but as was mentioned by Princess Olivia - I am concerned about the violence. It really is not necessary for her IMHO. SO - I just might take her to see something else. TOday was a hot hot and humid day - so I am anxious to get out and do something - aside from the afternoon gardening chores I just finished. A movie sounds nice - or maybe I'll rent something or ????
Actually - going out for dinner sounds nice too... but I have to see what the spouse sez. I sort of feel like a .... buffett..... but she is 95% likely to veto that idea. She's been busy with chores around the house too... so ...
Oh well... I just booked/paid for my air and hotel for Honolulu next month. We have a surprise 80th birthday celebration for my FIL there. We've got a great deal at this swank boutique that is sort of trying to be a "W" ... and really seems to come close in the major amenities - and then some. However - it is also a FLAMING BARGAIN! I am paying only $480 for 5 nites! The rest of the time we're staying with family so the kids can mix - and I save some moola. Well... not really since I have to rent a car - that sort of off sets some of the savings. So - we save so little as to say there's minimal difference.
At any rate, we're having a small gathering - so it will be a nicer restuarant with no "set" activities. IE, no dancing, roasting, LCD show, etc.. We feel Dad would prefer it low key. ME... on my 80th I want to invite 125 people (same size as our wedding receptions) to a busy and fun venue - and NO GIFTS. Just come and have fun!
at any rate... I'm b;abbering away again... so TTFN as I'm gonna check theater show times and flip a coin as to whether to take the little one to POTC2, go alone or switch to a kids movie?
And I loved the designs posted with the details - the upside down bat, and Mickey ghosts!!!! Cute!
Cheers!

Good news! We found a different company that looks like it will allow us to use the Disney Name, logo, and characters! All designs on ok!
Here are a few more to choose from:

This last one I can not take credit for, but it was cute so I thought it was an option.

Ok all, thanks for being patient with me took a long while to finish loading all of the t-shirt designs they are all wonderful.
Please look at all of them on the website we have created. There is a separate page for all of the t-shirts. Look at them and then email me your votes...I wrote instructions for voting on the web site.
If you do not have the link for the web site yet please send me your information to kristinguillemette@sbcglobal.net and I will send you the link...
Can not wait to see what designs everyone picks. Your votes will be kept confidential. I will update the web site daily with what shirts are in the running.. You may vote as many times as you have passengers on the cruise. For example Terri and Rick get two votes since they are a party of two. For example again, my family is a family of four and we can vote four times. We may have to have different deisgns for the kids, and females and males if that is what people want..We may end up with three different designs if that is what people want..

Just wanted to take a moment and remind everyone if you have not done so, to sign up for the website. I also wanted to mention that we are in need of volunteers to hand out candy from the staterooms. We are also in need of a few parents to be in charge of the trick or treating groups. This is going to be a great event for the kids, but we need everyone's help to make it happen!

Sorry, I haven't been too active with posting. I have had some problems with my password, etc. We are in the middle of looking at houses and that with getting the house ready to sell have just been too much. Plus the kids want to be kept busy and happy. Not enough time in the day.
I have been trying to follow the posts and keep up to date, as well I have been really going through the boards to learn all I can about our upcoming trip. Which reminds me Captain Crash I couldn't help noticing you are doing the 11 night Western Cruise I believe. I had just heard about that cruise as well and saw a posting by you. Does that mean you are leaving us? I'm hoping that maybe you are going to end up doing both cruises. You have been such an active member and your family really seems so wonderful. Hey if you are leaving us than I might just have to look into that 11 night cruise as well. LOL ;)
Well, not too much to add here. I love the t-shirt designs and already have found my favorite. Also, I can probably arrange my dh to hand out candy too. Hope everyone is well.

Good to hear from you Evelyn,
If you can send Kristin or I the following info we can get you set up on the website. That way you can vote on the shirts. If your husband is willing to help with the candy that's great! Here is the info posted in a prior thread about what we need for the website.
A moderator recommend to us that having all of our information on a secure web site that can only be accessed by all of us. In turn, we will be able to include much more valuable information about the cruise and all of our activites. Below you will find the information that we will need from each of you to put in the web site.
This is only for the DISers who are posting to this thread. Please have an adult in your group send the following & I will add it to the site & send you the link once I have updated the link. I will add your email to the group list so that you will be notified when the site has been updated with more info.
DIS ID: If you don't include this info, we wont know who you are.
Family name:
Individual names of family members (please include the children' ages at the time of the cruise so that I can put them in the right grouping)
Birthdates: so that we can add them to our cruise list
Celebration:
Stateroom:
Dining:
Hometown:
Pre/Post Cruise Plans: (Date arriving in FL & where you will be staying Friday night & if you plan to stay at WDW after the cruise. This info allowed some of us to arrange meets prior to the cruise.)
A short note with where you work & what activities you like to do.
Please send a picture of your family to be included. This way we will be able to reconize all of you...
For those with children, please send an individual picture pf each child to be put on the DIS Kids page by age group so that the kids can get to know each other a little better. Let the kids tell the others their age, grade in school, favorite thing to eat on the ship, favorite Disney character, & their favorite activity on the ship...whatever they want to write about.
We will have also have a page to list Palo resie times & excursions to help make plans.

Alright capt. what's going on? Please say you are still going to be on our cruise.
Well....
... I was waiting to see what happened with everything else here ... but when my spouse got back last thursday she went through the mail and said - Tom!... look at THIS! It was a post card for the Southern sailings on DCL with $199 air. Well... we had everything already "set" for Halloween and I was think ... "oh no, not again...". She explained that this southern cruise was EVERYTHING we wanted and so on - dis and dat. So I made a reservation on a courtesy hold last friday while holding our Halloween voyage. Over the weekend we talked about it and we have a number of complications. Changing air from October to September would have lost 85% of the fare value to penalties and the new ticket would have cost MORE. We are near exclusive United Airline patrons. And we made dozens of calls to sort through the madness. And finally we got the air untangled and then - DCL inventory control had a snafu - which was unraveled just this morning. I was waiting for the final untangling to say anything here.
SO... I am sorry to say after about 350 posts (most of them very long winded) representing a near novel in length - plus after posting probably 100+ photos we are are shifting our res. We had a special sailing on the Magic 2 years ago but it was all messed up by hurricane Francis - and converted into a Western sailing of 4 days - probably our desired type of cruise. but since we were already in Orlando ready to meet the ship we went - besides, they spiffed us a veranda plus transfers to Fort Lauderdale to meet the ship embarkation.
So.... I know I've got maybe 2 dozen t-shirt designs that need sharpening should any win the design contest. No problem - I promise to by "johnny on the spot" in delivering a finished file if it wins. Plus, I am not entirely gone - as I am still ....... welcome to post here .... right? AND, as a consequence of making my changes I opted not to take an 85% loss on my October Orlando flights and instead took a 28% penalty and will still fly out for the weekend of the 28th. I might be able to duck in on a pre-cruise gathering if someone will let us know when and where?
So - I would like to take this opportunity to declare that everyone here has been simply wonderful as parteners in crime for the DIS group on this sailing. I'm sure it's likely to be MORE FUN without a Jedi and Padame on the cruise... as the Star Wars costumes are not very halloween-like.
Oh yeah... remember how I already ordered custom made sweat shirts and T-shirts? Yup, those are custom printed with our names and the Halloween cruise dates! I don't suppose anyone is named Alicia and TOm on the ship - in a size petite and large? Cuz I can make them a good deal on custom printed garments... especially if they had 2 kids named Julianna and Kalea on the cruise ... in appropriate sizes!
Oh well... I have my "Secrets" on how to pull off an Ice Cream speed eating contest with a minimum of fuss - for anyone who would like to step forward to run it.
Anyways.... I held off of saying anything until it was done. I was not sure it was possible at all. :confused3
So - I'll not be bringing my Jedi Knight or Padame costumes to the other sailing but look what they've got me doing in substitution!

Don't blame you at all Captain, sounds like you are doing what is in the best interest for your family. The mailer was the whole reason I was looking into that cruise myself. I like the idea of the 11 day honestly. I'm afraid that 7 days is just going to fly by and be over before we know it.
Have a great time and who knows maybe we will see you there. :wave2:

Actually... for us .... having done a few sailings before WE'D SAY... 7 days is perfect! Now - 3 days is quick - but also tolerable. And 4 days is a decent deal too. Now we've done a 5 day and this almost felt liek a 7 ... but 7 is just "right" in our book. My spouse got her way ... as usual.
And thank you for the gracious remarks folks. I'm gonna miss the gang here - no doubt. But if OK... I'll visit and lurk a bit every now and then. Plus I might be around on embarkation morning too in Orlando if anything is going on with the DIS gang.
So ... I'd like to share some quick info that is sure to save folks a little cash IF you're driving to the port in a rental car. Normally the options are just Avis and Budget... but i just found out that THRIFTY has a new office 3 miles away and a FREE shuttle.
Use the Promotion Code WMRT for a 10% off discount
Following are the rates after the 10% discount for a ONE NITE RENTAL from October 27th -28th.
Economy Car per day is $16.19
Compact Car per day is $17.81
Mid-Size Car per day is $20.24
Standard or FULL Size Car per day is $26.72
VAN ....................... $30.77 ..... however, for the weekend it was $27.68!
Convertible ............. $30.45
SUV ....................... $36.04
Premium (Chrysler Pacifica / bad rear visability) ...... $49.41
Luxury (Chrysler A300 Touring)................... $56.51
Mack Truck ............ $98.22 (special license required)
Flexible flyer tricycle... $0.52 ($10 CDW mandatory however... beware)
If you want the car for 2 days just double the price. When I went to book for October 27th (yeah - I'm still flying in as I would otherwise lose 85% of my money on the flight).... and get this... I reserved a DODGE CARAVAN 7 passenger van from October 27th to the 30th for only $27.68 a day!!!! The total including taxes was $83.04 with the WMRT discount code! Previously - I held Avis and/or budet reservations for about $50 for ONE days' rental on a full size. Yeah... Thrifty has them trumped on price and car classes!!!! PLUS - I might add that for some reason I could not get the discount code to work on the PC to MCO debarkation rental. AND - the MCO to PC rental had a $10 drop charge... but not on the reverse. SO watch for that.
You can book the above rates right on Thrifty.com
Cheers! :thumbsup2
Oh yeah.... the Mack truck... I'll take 3 please! :badpc:

What? C'mon, what is MORE halloween like than Star Wars costumes? And you can still tote those costumes to MNSSHP, right? So, you don't get out of hauling them all the way across the country!!
Oh yeah... remember how I already ordered custom made sweat shirts and T-shirts? Yup, those are custom printed with our names and the Halloween cruise dates! What is the actual day that we can make reservations on line? CC members that is? I am still trying to figure out how to hold on to my money until the last minute. From what I am seeing today, maybe now is the time ....HUH?
Missy
The day for CC members is July 30. I paid mine today, as I did not want to wait till the last minute. We have a lot going on this next few weeks and my luck, I would forget to pay it and would not be able to make online ressies. You still have some time!
By the way, please tell Bo that Timmy has been very busy. He has not forgotten about Bo, just has not had time to send him an e-mail. He is looking forward to meeting him on the cruise!

We have had our trip paid off for two months, but now we are having a hard time trying to figure out what ressies we want to make! My DH and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year and was wanting to do a nice spa treatment together, but are having a hard time choosing. Any suggestions?

I did the hot stone one last year. It was nice & was so relaxing. In hind sight, it wasn't really worth the $175 (+tip) though. I probably could have gotten really relaxed with $175 in Margaritas! Of course the hot stone massage is quite a bit longer than the $109 well-being massage. So, if you are wanting to splurge, the hot stone is a nice, long (75 min) massage.

I highly advise bringing your own beer and a cooler! We drank 175 beers and they were all very COLD because we packed them in our own cooler. This was especially nice at CC when it is so hot and the drinks the server brings are half warm by the time you get them.
I am all for some fruity drinks too......but really cold beer sometimes is PRICELESS.
Ok.......I don't really think that we drank 175 beers!

I know what you mean about having to wait for your drinks on CC, we ordered a bucket of beers last year, and we ended up waiting at least an hour to get them. Next time I will make sure I walk over there myself and get the drinks.

That was just what I spent after the massage in Diversions while watching football, and yes I am bringing the bigger budget this time. I have to if I am going to get you on that banana boat :teeth:

I'm pretty sure he swam to St. Louis and bottled the beer himself. :confused3 Lesson learned - BYOB.

Heather,
Wanted me to tell you all that Jacob is well ..he had to have his tonsils, adnoids out and tubes put in his ears...He is doing well...But he is in a bit of pain....He has been taking a nap the last time I spoke with her...He then woke up crying due to the pain.....
I told her you were all asking about Jacob and she said to tell you thanks so much..She will most likely be checking email tonight later or tomorrow...

Hi Ruth Ann!!
I usually don't toss out the first welcome because I'm afraid my avatar (little picture under my screen name) will scare them off! You're family is going to have a great time! Make sure to check out the first post in the thread if you haven't already. I see you've been here a LONG time for never posting before! I hope you won't wait another 2 years before you post again ;)
