Off Topic - Ottawa Airport

Hi,
My university-aged son is flying from Ottawa to London, ON next month and he has never even been inside an airport. I was just wondering if there is only one terminal in Ottawa? Also - does anyone know how much a cab costs from downtown Ottawa out to the airport? He has to change planes in Toronto. He's not nervous about the actual flying part - just getting to where he needs to be in the airports. Thanks in advance.

hi yes there is only one terminal. Ottawa is a small airport that is very easy to get around.

Your son will have no problem at the Ottawa Airport.

The new expansion is nice but it is still a small airport and very easy to find your way around.

This will depend on the time of travel as getting out of downtown ottawa during rush hours is a nightmare in all direction, but more specificly on the airport parkway and all its connector roads. He should count on around 50 dollars but again may be less as it depends on the traffic (wait time).

As an alternative, there is good OC transpo bus (I guess #97 the last time I remember). If he plans ahead, and is not carrying a lot of luggage, he may get to the airport at the cost of 3 DOLLARS approximately.

He may also take a quick taxi outside rush hours but that should be around 20 dollars.

Thank you for putting a mom's mind at ease! I'm glad to hear that the terminal is small. The bus to the airport is still route 97 and he lives right on that route. That's a lot better than $50 for a cab. Thanks everyone!

you may want to remind him to eat first...while there are a few choices once you pass through security they get much more limited. (some airports these days have everything but Ottawa has only a Tim's, second cup, harvey's and a pizza type joint in addition to the required bars)
