We stayed at the BC(not BCV), in 2003. That is when we fell in love with BC and decided to join DVC. We are also going back this August. I remember SAB being somewhat crowded, but certainly not uncomfortable. DH and I went through the "lazy river" many times without feeling crowded. We also enjoyed the hot tubs and usually had just a couple to a few others in with us. DS went on the slide numerous times, only complaing a couple of times, that the line was too long. The earlier in the day we went, of course, the easier it was to get a lounge chair. I remember when we went after the parks one day, we could not get a lounge, but we did get a round table to sit at while DS went in the pool. As I am sure you know SAB is a very popular pool and in August it is hot and humid so I imagine many people who stay at BC plan on using the pool occasionally if not every day. :)
Hope this helps somewhat. Good Luck and have fun!! :sunny:

This august will be our second august stay at BCV. I LOVE IT. I think any of the pools will be crowded when its this hot, the pool is large and there are different areas to it. I find the most crowded area of the pool is usually the 3 foot sandy bottom portion (Rec Director Rael) usually has some type of team sport going on in this area. The slide is really fun, they have a lazy river, a whirl pool area, a quiter area (other side of bridge), a kiddie area and two hot tubs in the rocks. its lots of fun to check out all the areas and the sand feels great on your feet after a day in the parks.
A table in the shade works great for us at SAB, as we are usually only there to swim and perhaps a cocktail or two. I find it too hot to sit in the sun in a lounge chair.
After the sun goes down (or right before sunset) the quite pool is a great place to relax, its just what it says it is, quite. nice place to unwind for a while before you start all over or head upstairs to bed.
You get the most of both worlds at this resort.
