It's official that Disney is closing another part of their family. They have decided since everyone places orders online at disneydirectcom that the call center will close their doors at the first of the year and will send their calls to another call center. So they are being replaced by the computer and cheaper workers that will not be able to give that Disney class that we all so love.
what do you think about that?

Guess they figure its not needed if things have slowed down. Look at this group it only had 7 posts all day (7/24). Nothing Di$ney surprises me! :confused3

So they are being replaced by the computer...
Somewhat sad, but it's a sign of the times. People prefer to use the Internet to do their shopping / communicating. I don't see how or why Disney should have gone to greater lengths to get folks to use the more expensive telephone ordering options than the Internet.
Also, remember that since the Disney Stores were sold to the Children's Place, Disney Direct is a separate entity. No longer is there the synergy where people could go into a Disney Store and leave with a catalog of merchandise, which might result in a telephone order. TDS does not sell merchandise over the Internet, nor do they distribute catalogs for DD. So, the vast majority of Disney Direct's target market finds them via the 'net and immediately places an order.
...and cheaper workers that will not be able to give that Disney class that we all so love.
Do we know that to be true?
