I wanted to post this in a Disney Animation section, but they dont got that on here for some reason. But I guess it fits here too. There has been basically three things that this movie has been rumored as, first some shrek like fairy tale spoof. Then it was reported as a Rapunzel story where Rapunzel is a squirrel and the prince dude is a dog. Then now it's finally being rumored as a classic Disney Princess story that follows the original fairy tale. Just wondered what you all thought, I personally think it'll be the third one. The animation (CG) to it looks like it'll be a painting but that moves that clues to it being more serious and not a spoof. Secondly, since it's now being reported as a musical that's making me think that it will be like other Disney classics. Finally, the director of it is a veteran at Disney and I think he's one of the few people at Disney trying to preserve the magic. But, what do you all think will happen with this movie? Vote.

Oh yeah, the last real one was Mulan which wasn't even that good. But I"m thinking Rapunzel can be another Little Mermaid

Mulan was awesome!
:)
I know that's subjective. It's one of my favorites, though, so I had to give a shout out.

Mulan was excellent. A great movie for little girls. Shows girls can be tough too. ;)
Wow. I would love to see a new Disney Princess Classic but, I can't see them going that route with this Rapunzel movie. DD has a Barbie as Rapunzel movie that came out a couple of years ago. I would think they would make it more of a spoof.
Can't wait to find out more about this. :wave2:

You may have already seen these, but here is some Repunzel Unbraided artwork. First a link to an animated logo for the flim (Very pretty). Note, this one appears to have been filmed at some sort of trade show, so there are crowd sounds in the background

And here are the still images. If the film is half as pretty as these images, its gonna be a winner.

Thanks for posting those images, those were part of the reason I thought it'd be a classic fairy tale movie. First of all, although being CG it won't be polygonic, it'll look more like like an oil painting. Also it looked like they designed Rapunzel in a more serious manner, not some jokish manner as the characters in Shrek. Some of those movie pictures almost look Fantasia like, not at all Shrek type spoof like..... The only unsettling thing is the "A Classic Fairy Tale with a Twist." But IMDB at first was saying this too and since has changed to say it'll be true to the fairy tale. Maybe Disney just wanted to mislead people because they're trying to keep the info on this film confidential

I surely hope that disney returns to its roots as the "Champion of the Fairy Tale." It's been far too long since Disney created any real magic in its' animation. The last time was Beauty and the Beast and the success of that movie is undeniable. :earsboy:
