Hello:

After reading the problems with National and the Disney discounts, I decided to check on my reservation.

I have an Intermediate car booked for September 8th through the 15th. The TOTAL I am paying for the 8 days is $140.96. This includes a disney discount of $14.22 and the club discount of $29.03. I booked the reservation on August 1st.

After checking my Reservation I noticed the TOTAL is now $180.00, which is not what I was quoted on August 1st. I called National and the lady pulled up my reservation and her computer had the $140.96 total. I explained to her the problem we are having with the discounts and she did not know anything about it. She did say as long as we have the coupon and card and printout with the lower prices, they will honor it.

I am not sure what is going on, but if anyone has booked a reservation prior to the pulling of the discounts, I suggest you print the reservation and just present it at the counter.

As of now, she was not sure why the discount has been pulled.

Hope this helps

Kevin

I don't think the discounts have been 'pulled', there is a problem with National's website. Different problems have been intermittent for a long time. This is only the latest. It seems to be ignoring all contract numbers, not just Disney CLub.

When I discovered a problem with an upward change in the quote, I sent National an e-mail requesting that they look into it.

Within a couple of hours, I had a very nice e-mail response reconfirming my original (lower priced) quote. I am printing that off so there is no question on my upcoming trip.

The response follows (my rental period is only 4 days, not the 7 indicated herein):

Dear Sandra,

Thank you for your inquiry. With reservation number *******, you are
confirmed at your subtotal rate of $103.18. Your estimated total is $134.09
with tax and surcharges for the 7 day rental. Unfortunately. we're
currently experiencing with the view reservation option on our website not
recognizing any discount. I apologize for the inconvenience. Also, please
be advised that any changes to your existing reservation may affect your
rate.

Thank you,

Emma

Once issue which may end up getting addressed at this time which could be bad in the long term: the DC program discount is identified as 10% off for Daily, Weekly, and Weekend rates, both on the DC web page and in mailings to DC members. In practice, my experience has been that the actual discounts have been 20%. Very nice. Now they may fix the web reservation processor so it "works" correctly and we could end up with only 10% per the DC program info.

But the issue is, we aren't getting ANY discounts on the website. I wished I would have reserved on Sunday, but I was waiting for the dumb app. Now I know I can do it without it and have it added later :(

tink, don't bet on it. I've heard that when people try to add it, the quote changes. I sent you the link for the on-line app, it would have been all done :smooth:

Pluto: I know and I really appreciate all the time you spent to send the link. But, I just sat there with some of the info inputted and started thinking about what I was sending via Internet and all the problems they were having. It kept "blinking" at me. I get really worried when sending too much info via Internet. I know it's not all secure even when they say it is. Nothing is full proof :( It's just the paranoid person in me coming out ;) They were supposed to fax the app to my DH today. I haven't had a chance to ask him.
