Okay---after much reading on these boards, I decided to join the EA (since it was free as a Disney Club member).
In theory, walking right out of the airport, into the EA lane, jumping in the car of your choice and driving off sounded so....idealistic, simple, easy, time-saving.
In reality, I walked right out of the airport, into the EA lane and jumped into SEVERAL CARS OF MY CHOICE. On Aug. 18 there weren't any extra special vehicles there --no convertibles, no minivans, no PT cruisers, just normal every day intermediate cars. Hence my problem.
First decision: what color (not white since white just screams rental car).
Next decision: which model: Well here is where I felt like Goldilocks. First car--too low to the ground, next car--just didn't feel right, next car--too big, next car---just didn't feel right.
After about 15 minutes of this I decided what the heck, walked over to the intermediate aisle, got a Grand Am and left.
Total time in parking lot: Almost 30 minutes.
Line inside at the counter when I passed it: NONE.
I don't think EA works for people like me--I spent waaayyy too much obessing about my "pick" then if they had just assigned me a car and let me drive off.
:D
