Here's a quote based on your information - I didn't know if you belonged to any discount organizations such as DC. But as you can see, it can be done. I used the car care center instead, but the quote is the same for the Dolphin.

You should always reserve a car rental in advance. A weekly rate shouldn't be much more than the rate Pluto quoted you if you want the car for longer. Be sure to use whatever discount you qualify for (DC, COSTCO, EB are 3 good programs.).

Can you get the EB discount via the DC? I know you can on hotels.

nope, because you can't get the coupon without the book...

I just booked the car at the National website at the rate that Pluto had ...the estimate is 146.50 with the taxes and all...now why do they say estimate and this is with the DC coupon...is this a good rate for the 3 days that I will have the car...should I go back & check every day or what do you guys think..TIA Marianne :earsgirl:

It's not really an estimate, (You might return the car early/late) which will change the price, but it seems a little high...DC contract discount isn't working right now, that will lower the price a little. I would imagine that December is a very popular time to visit WDW, and the rate may not come down very much. Keep checking the rate before your trip, bunny, the rate will change, and DC discount should return. Have a great trip :)

That's right Bunny - keep checking but for the record, I just ran a quote for your whole stay and it comes out close to the same:

pbhunt: did you just book today? I couldn't get the discount to come up for me for my date or yours. Is this a weekly rental w/free weekend day or a straight 10% off? I can't get the discount to work since last Sunday. We're going from 10/29 - 10am thru 11/3 - 9pm

Thanks

Tink, bunny is trying to book a reservation for Dec. '01. I made a reservation for 3 days, Apr.'02, a couple of weeks ago when the DC contract discount was still working. The total cost for a little over 3 days (8 months out) is $65.70. As you know, DC contract discount isn't working. Hope it's fixed soon:) :)

PS, your Annie is very, very cute, a rough collie?:)

Yes, Annie is a rough collie. She's such a sweetheart. Has cost us about $4,000 in the last 1.5 yrs for medical reasons, but worth it. Hey, that's a couple WDW trips! ;) She's doing much better, but will have a medical condition and on meds the rest of her life (she's only 4). I would have another collie in a heartbeat (if they're all like her). My DD put those ears on her and I said "photo time". She'll let her do just about anything!
