Breakfast?

Staying at the AKL, we want to get out to the parks as early as possible and would rather not have big breakfasts, but would like something light to keep us going until about 11.00am. Does anybody take breakfast bars or similar?

I have never taken them but we often buy these when out there and use them as breakfast for the reasons you mention above :)

Either that or we have a mid morning snack in the park which always comes as a nice respite after a couple of hours of rushing about!

We're just back from AKL and we were not impressed with the breakfast stuff at Mara. We bought cereal and then used our snack credits to buy milk. it was good having the fridge in the room!!

We were also grateful to have a fridge in our room when we stayed at AKL. Neither of us are big breakfast eaters and I like to get to the parks as early as we can, so it made sense to have a quick bowl of cereal in our room before heading out. It was quick, cheap and (sitting on the balcony looking at the animals) very cheerful!

if you are driving and pas the onsite hess garages they sell nice Krespie kream dounuts

we always have cereal and milk in the room before we head out...
and i carry cinnamon raisin bagels in my backpack for the kids to snack on if they want to when we're waiting in line...
the other day when we were at AK, we had a snack in Africa while we waited for our Fastpass window....they sell fresh fruit there, which caught my kids eye.....it was nice sitting in one of the hidden away table areas, having a snack for 20 minutes, and then using our fastpasses for Kilimanjaro Safaris....
