Brita Fill-n-go Water Bottles

Hi everyone, I know there have been some folks unable to find the Brita fill-n-go water bottle since Brita discontinued them. I was going to buy on ebay, but found some on www.acehardwareoutlet.com for $9.99 per bottle and they have them in stock. I just ordered 4 of them for my trip in August. Hopes this helps someone!

After getting the idea from this site, I went and checked at our local Wal-Mart. They had them for $4.50 each. They were with all of the other water filter stuff.

Lucky! I've been checking our local Walmart and CVS stores hoping to find one but so far no luck.

I've looked and looked for these bottles. I went to that website, and WOW :earseek: 30 bucks for 2 bottles!!! I was just set on not having them.
I searched Target, Walmart, And the bigger CVS stores by me. Then out of the blue I looked in the small cvs in my home town. :cool1: woohooo!!! I found 2 bottles for only 7.99 each!! :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1: :banana: :banana: Now i get good tastin water!!

I'm glad you guys are finding them at the store. I had been searching and searching for close to a month at different Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, Eckard, CVS, etc....any store that might have them and I just could not find them in my area.

This is a great option for people that can't find them anywhere. $9.99 a bottle sounds like a lot until you figure how much money that they will save you by not buying bottled water.

If anyone is in NH/Mass., I found them at Market Basket of all places.

Is the water at WDW that bad that you need a filtering water bottle? What happened to the good ole drinking fountain?

I can't stomache the water out of the drinking fountain at WDW - hence the water bottles, I know lots of other people feel the same.

I found four Brita bottles at Snow's in Orleans (Cape Cod), Massachusetts. I think they were below $10 each, but they had no replacement filters that I could purchase in addition to the ones that come with the actual bottles. I have a feeling that since these have been discountinued, we might only be able to find them in smaller mom and pop type stores, as opposed to chain stores with a huge turnover of merchandise. I didn't buy them, but I figured they would still be there next week if I changed my mind. I can't see buying something I won't be able to use for after the first filter is no longer good. And if they are discountinued, won't the filters also be discontinued??

On a related note, has anyone ever become ill drinking the water in Florida? I remember when I went as a kid, my older brother, who was told by my parents "DON'T DRINK THE WATER" , forgot, was thirsty, and drank the water. He had gastro-intestinal problems and made several trips to the bathroom that morning. Poor kid. Since then, (30 years ago), I have never attempted to drink the water. The Brita filters wouldn't prevent this from happening, would they. Or is the Florida water now drinkable without possibly causing someone to become ill? Thanks! :earsgirl:

People have differing opinions on the WDW water, and whether it can make you sick. I know it is technically drinkable, but it tastes nasty. It is supposedly high in sulphur, and in an effort to compensate for that, they add a lot of chlorine. I think it is dependent on how sensitive your system. My son had gotten some type of stomach upset each trip, until the last trip. We kept him drinking primarily bottled water on the last trip, and no stomach problems. Maybe a coincidence, but I am not going to risk it. I wasn't able to find anybody who used to get sick drinking the water, and then used a filter bottle and didn't get sick (boy, was that confusing!) so I am sticking to bottled. Good luck deciding!

If you do not care about the brand name, other companies make similar products. I have the Innova

DH used to get sick everytime we went to Disney. It took us 3 trips to figure out it was the water :rolleyes2 He was using tap water for his coffee. Now we buy bottled water to use and he hasn't been sick since.

I read a thread about this same topic a few months ago and bought two bottles when I saw them at CVS. We just returned from our trip and guess how many times we used them.... NONE! I ran water through them (like the instructions say) on our first park morning. After seeing all the disgusting water come out of it I couldn't bring myself to use it. I ended up drinking the bottled water we brought from home. I know there was nothing wrong with the bottles, but eeewww!

Hopefully my kids will use them for sports this fall.

Well after searching and searching... I finally found the Brita bottles :cool1: when I wasn't searching. Low and behold now I've seen them again for a second day. They just have mysteriously came out and about. I hope they are as good as everyone swears by. :jumping1:

On our last two trips we only drank bottled water. I think we'll do the same again this year. Why risk it? I'm glad I chose not to buy the Brita filter water bottles when I saw them. Thanks to all for your comments!

Wow-I'm wondering if the "bladder infection" I thought I was getting in Jan. was really from the water. I also ended up drinking lots of cranberry juice and I also took Uristat. It finally cleared up the last days of our trip. However, it was very uncomfortable. I've never thought the tap water tasted bad, and I have been known to order glasses of ice water at some counter services, I guess I have to change my ways.

I've been "kinda" looking for the Brita filters but I guess I'll have to make a bigger effort. Or drink only bottled.

Has anyone found any in Southern California area?

I found the Brita water bottles in Harmon discounts in NJ for $2.99. This solves the problem of buying a case of water when I get to WDW.

I found mine at K-Mart in the section with the coffee pots! they were 3.50 and also got a pack of the refills for 2.00. We loved them the first time, but used that set of bottles at home so had to buy a new set for use on trip! :banana:
