Girls, let me tell you something....having a child is a miracle. But, what it does to the body, is not so miraculous. I had my son 9 years ago, and seriously I think I got the worst case of stretchmarks known to women. It is disgusting. Without having the income to afford plastic surgery or laser surgery, what can I do? What do you do? It almost angers me when my sisters don't get them...it's like I was the only one in the family. I am incredibly self conscious and extremely embarrased. What to do, what to do....Or am I just being vain?

or Badges of Honour - depending on the day I'm having!!:teeth: :teeth:

Would I have plastic surgery?...nope.
Laser surgery?...nope.
Tanning bed?...nope.
Buy the cutest swimsuit/hat/sunglass combo - complete with pedicure and manicure - I could find?...yep.

...and forget about the stretch marks...and enjoy your sister's compliments about how great and happy you look:)

Along with the stretch marks, I was blessed with varicose veins :sad2: both legs, of course their are the lovely red and blue veins to keep them company. Don't get me started on what breast feeding has done......
ps my sister doesn't have stretch marks either AND after the baby was born it took her a month to get down to her pre-baby weight.

I have bad ones too, on my hips, sides of my stomach. All I do is cover them up with a bathing suit. I really like the bathing suits with the boy-shorts. They are great!

It's been 19 years and I'm not back to pre-baby weight so I've basically given up that quest. Stretchmarks are from hip to hip but they do fade eventually. Can understand how you feel about your sister. I have a girlfriend who's son is 9 months younger than mine -- not a stretchmark on her and when we went out when mine was 10 months and hers was one month someone asked me if they were both mine!! Yup she looked like she'd never been been pregnant -- me? well the battle scars are still there!!

One piece bathing suits are great! Don't worry about stretchmarks etc. I'm now convinced no one sees them but me.
