I sense that there may be a small domestic situation occurring when the postman comes tomorrow :rolleyes1:

My 11 year old, Adam came home from school today grinning, as he won the school raffle for the Harry Potter book. I was so pleased for him (and pleased for myself as it only cost me £1.00 :rotfl: ). It is going to be hand delivered tomorrow by one of the teachers. He will be the first one up tomorrow instead of the usual last. :cool1:

Pop down to your local bookshop at midnight tonight Libby and you might get caught in a storm :teeth:

When I was at school we often had to share a reading book with the child next to us - always one waiting for the other to finish so they could turn the page. Perhaps you could try that!! :teeth:

Apparently I read to slow for DW :( I fear that by page 5 her excessive hormone levels would have led to me being consigned to a very stern and silent doghouse ;)
Given her current condition I feel total and utter surrender may be the best option :teeth:

I'm off to a midnight pick up soon too. Why oh why did we decide to visit my sister tomorrow and have Scott's parents over on Sunday??? I should have it finished by Friday at the latest. Wednesday is my target so I'd match my speed for Order of the Phoenix!

DH has just gone off to Asda to collect it so that DD can start reading it first thing in the morning. He is hoping for a freebie, apparently they are giving the first 5 away, he is bound to be number 6!:rotfl2:

Well, Im afraid this Harry Potter mania has completely bypassed this house!
I do have a question though, for all you HP fans!!! What age are these books aimed at? Im waiting till DD is old enough to read them and I will join in as well! She is 5 and is quite an advanced reader for her age (though I suspect Harry Potter will not be suitable for a year or two!!). She has finished all her level 5 & 6 Oxford Reading Tree books that I bought for her to "progress" with over the summer and has now picked out the Magic Key stories that are really "normal" (not big print or basic stories) books and Im shocked how much she can read already!! Cant be far away from ordering those Harry Potter books, Im sure, but wondered what the content was like???!!!

That's a really tough one Allie.
It sounds like Jess is pretty much the same as Amber at that age and I'm not sure she is quite "ready" yet for HP. She has read all the Lemony Snickett books (which I think are on a simialr par, difficultness wise) but got quite upset when she watched the last HP film so I have steered her away from the books (God knows there are enough to steer her away from in this house ;) )
I admit I also don't "get" HP though I realise I am one of a very small minority :teeth:

Hiya :wave2:
I was gutted I couldnt get mine at 12.00am, I was painting my house from 6pm until 6am then went to bed then 7.00am until 9am then went to Tescos to get it, Read about a 1/4 so far, all while my new carpets have been laid. Not sure I will be reading any more today though, I am so tired I can barley remember my own name never mind a plot line!

Well I'm gutted. I pre ordered mine after Xmas last year from a well known on line company that does booked, music etc... but who shall remain nameless. I had an e-mail from them early Friday to let me know that my book had been shipped but to my work address. Not too much of an issue bearing in mind this must have been the last address I used for delivery. Went into work to pick it up - guess what - all the other post was there except for my HP book! Then to rub salt into the wound went to Asda and they had it for £4.00 cheaper than I paid and loads of them left :guilty: Will have to get into work early on Monday so Ican read a few sneaky chapters :rotfl:
